I'm not saying it doesn't affect every function, I'm saying that it isn't going to be a cure for most (although it may help greatly) and relying on only one thing to help has led more than one person down the wrong road.

Cheryl~http://www.gryffins-tail.blogspot.com~@midian42~

Iodine works on multiple levels. It is anti viral, anti fungal, anti bacterial, anti parasitic. It takes iodine for the pancreas work properly. Hormones are controlled by iodine. It coats the intestinal walls to protect the lining. Sufficient Iodine enables the production of thyroid hormones that controls all the metabolic processes in the body. The breaking down of protein, fats, carbs is all contolled by iodine. Iodine is necessary for reproductive hormones to work properly. Iodine causes apoptosis (programmed cell death) of cancer cells.

The absence of iodine has a detrimental effect on every system of the body. By giving the body the main thing it is deficient in, that is needed by every system of the body, the body is able to fix all those systems.

The reasons for iodine deficiency are many. Our soils are depleted, we dont eat enough fish, we eat processed foods with vitamins and minerals stripped.

Several generations of vaccine use has destroyed the thyroids ability to capture and utilize iodine effectively.

The flouride and bromide in our water and food supply displaces iodine from receptor cells causing multi system dysfunction.

The removal of iodine from bread and replaced with bromide created an even greater deficiency with the autism epidemic and explosion of autoimmune diseases occurring soon after. Cows are no longer fed fish meal which created iodine rich milk.

Our vaccine damaged, iodine deficient mothers gave birth to iodine deficient children who gave birth to even more iodine deficient children. Each generation sicker than the last.

It takes iodine for the body to process and excrete metals. Iodine removes toxins. Iodine doesnt supress virus, it eliminates them. Iodine kills clostridia. Iodine heals a leaky gut. Iodine for the heart is vital, stabalizing heart rhythms, lowering cholesterol, thinning the blood. All proven, disregarded and forgotten by modern medicine. No profit in Iodine.

Unlike antibiotics that weaken our immune systems and wipe out good bacteria, Iodine strengthens the immune system and protects good bacteria while eliminating the bad.

So yes, the reasons for deficiency are many, but the elimination of that deficiency, and all the malfunction, is fairly easy.

Cheryl,

What are your thoughts on Tri-Quench??

To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Tue, September 28, 2010 11:23:42 PMSubject: Re: Iodine Deficiency

Yes, many take both. Over time you may need to lower or eliminate your Armour dosage, it typically takes a while to repair the thyroid enough for elimination. If you are iodine deficient (which hypo is a direct symptom) your son was born that way, too. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/iodine/messages is the link where you will find many that take both armour and iodine. The dosage for iodine varies. The goal is to create an iodine sufficient body.

This is done by providing enough iodine so that every part gets what it needs.

Once all the parts start getting what they need the receptor cells that have had

their iodine displaced will begin to knock off the bromide letting iodine back

in.

Typically small children should get from 3 to 12.5 mg. Adults who are healthy,

active, exercise, eat well with none to mild thyroid symptoms will probably do

well on 12 to 15mg. Some start with a small amount then increase. Some dive

right in.

Those with thyroid problems or multi system dysfunction need 50mg. Those with

active cancer need 100mg+.

For the adrenals, Vit C and Natural Salt help the most. Rhodiola rosea is

excellent for adrenals. I tried Thorne Research, Adrenal Cortex, for myself, but

it really upset my stomach so i stopped and just used the Rhodiola. I havent had

to use that in at least 6 months. In the beginning of iodine supplementation my

adrenals hurt fairly bad. I think i wasnt taking enough C or salt. I increased

my salt to 1tsp and my C to 2000mg per day and havent had to take rhodiola or

had any pain since. Occassionaly i will begin to feel what i think to be adrenal

in nature (grouch!) and some salt water usually takes care of it.

When taking iodine in high dosage it is a must to take the companion nutrients

of the protocol and to increase those when increasing iodine. Vit C 2000-4000mg,

Magnesium 400-1200mg, Se 200mcg, Natural Salt 1/4 to 1 1/2 tsp, lots of clean

water, B Vitamins (B2 and Niacin most important, I use a B complex, Jarrow B

Right is my favorite). I also think continuing what is currently helping is

important, as the body is healing and still needs what was working until healed.

Iodine takes a while to fix the problems. Wont happen overnight. A few months to

a few years for the most damaged.

I havent tried Tri-Quench. I have a different brand SSKI for nebulizer use.

Tri-Quench only has the Potassium Iodide(SSKI) and docs say we need both Iodide

and Iodine(Lugols/Iodoral).

Why do you say it it wont be a cure for most ?

I get the skepticism. I was the same way about all biomed long ago. But to flat

out say it wont be a cure for most is wrong. I think it is the key to the cure.

Try it. In a few months i firmly believe you will take back that statement :-)

I never said to rely on one thing. In fact have stated it's very important for

the companion supplements. Magnesium is a very important thing most are

deficient in and effects how iodine is utilized.

Starting iodine wont cure a person overnight. Healing the damage takes time and

Iodine, Vit C, Magnesium, Natural Salt, Selenium, B Vitamins. I think a person

would benefit from " only " iodine, but it takes the other supplements to heal.

And good food. Lots of water. Sunshine. Exercise.

Thank you so much! I'm going to

Armour? I don't suppose you will be going to the DAN! conference in Long

It would probably be about the

same with 1 or 2%.

Iodine does fix a thyroid, can eliminate thyroid antibodies too. Takes a while

but it happens. How long it takes depends on what the issues are and how much

iodine is supplemented.

The sea salt helps remove the toxins and strengthens the adrenals. Plus it has

minerals that help the iodine work more efficiently.

Until i found the iodine connection last year i had pretty much given up hope,

or accepted my son's fate. His progress this last year has made me know there

still is hope even at an older age.

Thank you so much! I'm going to

talk to our DAN! doctor about this. Is it easy to switch from synthetic to

Armour? I don't suppose you will be going to the DAN! conference in Long

Beach? I have been hypothyroid for 20 plus years but I was never one to

give things much thought until I found out my daughter was ASD and suddenly I

can't stop searching for answers!

Cool, thanks, I guess after this bottle's gone, I'll switch back to Lugols :) I liked that it was so high potency :)

I havent tried Tri-Quench. I have a different brand SSKI for nebulizer use. Tri-Quench only has the Potassium Iodide(SSKI) and docs say we need both Iodide and Iodine(Lugols/Iodoral). Cheryl >> Cheryl,> > What are your thoughts on Tri-Quench??> >

Iodoplex is another good one. It has Iodine and Iodide.

Thanks for the info on the salts though. I’m guessing Epsom baths would

be great for the adrenal function and detox as well. I am SOoooo ready to be

well and have my kids well.

On a more personal note, I”ve been giving my son this iodoplex

for about 4 weeks. He is 8 and hates to work (probably due to adrenal

exhaustion and mito inflammation), but whatever the

reason it seems to be resolving. He did an extra load of laundry the other day

without being asked. Tonight he came home from school and I said he had to

clean up 5 things in his room and he proceeded to clean 75% of his room

including organizing his trains and such. This is unheard of. You can’t

even walk into this kids room without stepping on stuff and today it was just

working. He was giggling and saying, wow mom, this is so easy whereas before it

was pulling teeth, tears, tantrums, etc. even just to put his clothes into a

laundry basket. He had an excellent day at school today too. We’ll see if

it holds through the week. Because we really went down hill there for a while,

but seem to be improving now. I am once again feeling like there is truly hope

and a brighter future.

Oh and just for the record, this is the only supplement we

are doing consistently right now and we haven’t been doing supplements

for quite some time for various reasons, so it doesn’t seem like it could

be related to any other change. We’ve been SCD since January and GF/CF/SF

for nearly 2 years before that.
