Guest guest
Hi all, A pretty good day for me, I just need more of these. Breakfast was 6.2, I had Eggs and Strasburg, probably 6 or 8 grams of carbs, so had two units. An hour later before leaving for work, it was 4.1, so I had 5 jelly beans for 5 grams of carbs to prevent going low. I use either Jelly beans or Jelly baby's in stead of glucose tablets. Lunch was 5.6 and I had 20 grams of carbs in a tuner and cheese sandwich, dosing 5 units. Post lunch was 6.9 Dinner was stake and veg for around 20 grams of carb, so dosed another 4 units. Post dinner is 7.5. Cheers, Brett.

Guest guest
Well, the past few days have been terrible. School has been crazy with me working from 8:00 AM until 7:00 PM most days with only a half hour break for lunch, plus the two hour commute each day. I haven't been paying any attention to what I've eaten. Two days ago I also had a bad infusion set and spent most of the day in the 14-24 or 250-450 range before I got home to change it (my own fault for not carrying a backup insulin pen), and the other days have also included many highs though not quite that high or for all day. I'm also positive hormones are wreaking havoc the past few days. This morning I was 13.6 or 245, not sure why. I had 46 grams of carbs for breakfast (funny how the amount creeps up when you're not paying attention anymore) and bolusd 8.35 units to cover the carbs and the high. Let's see if I can get back on track today! Jen

Guest guest
Hey All, Waking up this morning I was 100, 5.5. I ate breakfast - chicken and cheddar cheese. I dosed 3 units to cover the meal. I started work at 4:30 AM and finished at 2:30 PM and now am going back to work at 6 PM. They have me working over time at my job right now so I may not be posting as frequent, however, I am gunna post! The rest of the day I did not check, unfortunately, but I just did before dinner and I am 78, 4.3. Regards, Re: your blood sugar results Hi all, A pretty good day for me, I just need more of these. Guest guest
I think your numbers are great ! Here is a tip for everyone since I seen your morning sugar was pretty low. Best thing to do in the evening before bed is to not eat carbos so you do not have to dose any quick acting insulin. This limits the possibility of going low in the middle of the night. It also helps you adjust your lantus to get rid of lows in the middle of the night from the lantus. So if you are only dealing with lantus, and no bleed over of humalog before bed, it can really help you get rid of lows in the middle of the night. For a bed time snack, try cheese and olives... no carbs in them, for example. Guest guest
Perhaps the essence of what is saying is, have a protein snack, or a combination protein/fat snack like a slice or 2 of ring bologna! Not all that healthy, but in small quantities, and by balancing something unhealthy with a much greater proportion of healthy foods the rest of the day, it should work out all right. For the record, I eat peanuts as part of my bedtime snack, along with a small bowl of cereal. Which BTW, is now shredded mini-wheats.
