Guest guest
sounds pretty good. Regards, Re: your blood sugar results Hi , Pretty much water mashed Pumpkin Barley and beef stock. However, the misses put some potato in it so the kids would eat it. Normally it's quite good on the blood sugars, not so sure about this batch with the potato, at least it's the last of it tonight. I am 5.3 before eating it and am kind of dreading the post reading. Tonight I have dosed 5 units, hoping this will cover it. Cheers, Brett. Guest guest
Hey guys, my sugar before bed was 98, 5.4. I woke up early to do some work and ate a few carbs *sigh*. The good news is that it wasn't much, only a slice of buttered Italian *fresh* bread and a handful of cereal. Of course, I had to *guess* the carbos. This morning I was 196, 10.8, but I am back on track now. I have dosed humalog to break the high sugar and will not eat anything until the high sugar is broke. Guest guest
One of the things I do is prepare a salad without dressing and take it to work. Just before lunch I add a little dressing and eat the salad for lunch. I eat a lot of pepper on raw vegetables as well as a dash of lemon juice. I found out the other day that salsa is a free food. I sure eat a lot of it without chips and love it. Joyce P. Re: your blood sugar results Hey guys, morning sugar was 98, 5.4. . pre-breakfast was 98, 5.4. ate a hard boiled egg, a few pieces of pepperoni and a mozzarella cheese stick. 2 hour post was 78, 4.3. pre-lunch was 88, 4.8. I had brown mustard and dipped chicken chunks in it. I also had some more pepperoni and mozzarella cheese stick. I dosed 2 units for the lunch. 2 hour-post was 93, 5.1. pre-dinner was 99, 5.5. I had a plate of scrambled eggs that my mother in law made. My gosh were they amazing! I dosed 2 units to cover the meal. I didn't get to eat many veggies today since I was in office at work and could not really prepare them. Tomorrow I am going to try to eat veggies at lunch/dinner. Tonight, I am going to try a glass of red wine again. Regards, Re: your blood sugar results It is because you are a type 1 diabetic who cannot count well. Guest guest
That is the problem with doing an experiment. It takes so long to see the conclusion of a boring step by step process. Three months before you are pleased and your doctor is pleased, not to mention your wife's pleasure. day in and day out. Guest guest
It is difficult to get people to participate in an experiment or even to tell what is going on with themselves. But I will, because it can be interesting with each new post in a thread unless the choochoo monster jumps on you again. So stay off the monster, but follow along if you can. Guest guest
Wow!, some people actually read these things and ask questions unlike our congressman who vote before they even vote yes or no or abstain before the bill is read, but no matter, I didn't have time or the chance to read it either. your blood sugar results Ok all, this morning my blood sugar was 370. I am not kidding. Last evening prior to my post I had a meal with pasta and I had to dose quite a bit of humalog to cover it. At my two hour post, I was dropping low so had to eat a decent amount of glucose which in turn, over the night as I slept, caused me to spike to 370 so I won't be eating anything until I break the high. So, I dosed enough humalog to come down and am drinking water. Water helps our cells be more receptive to insulin and helps break highs. Never eat when you are high since it just feeds the high sugar, break the high, then eat healthy meats and healthy veggies. Regards,

Guest guest
Yeah, I admit I am running an experiment on myself. I stopped taking Lantus, the long-acting insulin to see what would happen. Here is what I got three nights in a row with using Lantus. glr 247, glr 279, and last night glr 257. I think I need to continue taking my split dose of 50 units of Lantus, the basal insulin. Guest guest
Hey guys, Today has been nuts! From work, to home, to kids, to training someone on programming, on and on it goes. I did not have time to do much testing today, unfortunately, and I did eat carbos at dinner time! I had my normal meat/veggies, but also a few hands of cereal and a granola bar! My two hour post was 178, 9.8. Tomorrow is a new day. I am going to strive to make it all day with no carbohydrates and stick to fresh veggies and good meats. Donnie has been posting his results and it has been encouraging me along with everyone else's... please keep them coming! Regards,

Guest guest
Good idea Harry!! Thank you for the report! You are a true scientist!! A good one at that, because you experiment on yourself!! Guest guest
I can guarantee folks here before I recommend any experiment I have first tried it on myself, and I am still alive. Guest guest
Before supper the glr 133. Ate around 50g of carbs and dosed 21 units of Humalog. At bedtime a glr of 127, and dosed 25 units of Lantus and ate 5 grams of carbs. Re: your blood sugar results Hey guys, Today has been nuts!
