Guest guest
Hey Meg! I'm JEALOUS! I'm freezing my freaking a** off this a.m...it's reading 31 on my thermometer in my porch! Brrrrrrr! Don't worry about the seatbelt, that will change honey! Every time I fly, I don't ask for an extension, but where an oversized shirt to cover the belt, and make it look as though it's buckled..I figure god forbid the plane went down or something, my butt was so suctioned in the seat, that I would have the entire seat to become afloat anyway! Enjoy the warm weather, PLEASE put some in a jar for me and send it my way! BTW: I have a friend who had WLS 3 yrs ago, and she often said to me last winter " Do you notice yourself any colder yet? " . Last year I didn't, but I'm dreading this year with my insulation that's diminishing! I'm already freezing, and it's only September!!! Looks like I may give in an actually wear a hat, scarf, mittens, thermals, turtleneck, wool sweater, and a bank robbers mask....who cares about the hair this year, nobody will be able to tell who I am anyways with all that paraphernalia on! ENJOY!!! Dawn (unknown) Hi guys, believe it or not I'm emailing from Jax, FLA!!!I flew down today with my sister. One of our other sisters is graduating from college tomorrow so we came for the weekend. I went to info mtg on the surgery at Lahey and have my appt on Friday. I will get my surgery date then!!! It sucked not being able to buckle the seatbelt in the plane Llyssa I hope you are in less pain this weekend. Congrats to Maura on being on the other side!! I'm sitting in my sister's new home just built with palm trees out front - it is 80 degrees here!! Take care all:) Meg
Guest guest
My lower back has been horrible lately with the legs wavering back and forth! Ed -----Original Message-----From: jnumber1us Sent: Friday, December 14, 2001 10:42 PMTo: OurMyositis Subject: (unknown)No, I didn't get to see Oprah. Was it about, perhaps, holiday stress or something along those lines? Just taking a wild guess.Yes, Vicki, what I read was part of this year's conference. Another thing the doctor said was that -more or less- once a myositis patient, one should always be considered a myositis patient, remission or no. I found THAT interesting! Sort a conflicts with doctors I've seen. At least, I think it does. Boy, I felt kind of "weaker" today, but my lower back and legs still bothering me.I di dmake a batch of cookies this afternoon- butter cookies, to be exact, in the shape of Santas and trees. They turned out wonderful, and I only ate 2. So far. Seems like when I bake cookies, the process takes up much of the day- make dough, chill, roll, etc. Is it worth it? Most of the time 11 more days-yikes. Ed, Eudora lied to you. She really did. She told me so. How, you ask? Well, that's my secret:) And why would she, you ask? So your bubble won't burst. How are you feeling today? <
Guest guest
Ed... I've always felt that the weakness and pain with myositis is migratory. It seems to travel from muscle group to muscle group. There's never a time when everything is working well all at once. Annette (unknown) I was afraid Endora was just trying to spare my feelings LOL!! *darn her* Today has actually been a wierd day (yea like we don't have those ALL THE TIME). My upper arms and forearms have actually felt weaker than my legs. The lower back is still acting up quite a bit and the hips seem to be feeling a little weaker every day. Tired. Tired of being tired. Tired of being tired of being tired. It just goes on and on .... Good news!! The Clonazepam I was given for the restless leg business seems to work pretty good. It's take as needed. Geez. Seems like just when we get used to one part being weak it goes and moves on us. It's not fair!!! Ed > No, I didn't get to see Oprah. Guest guest
I agree with Annette, Ed! Yesterday I was walking along, and bam, the right thigh decided it didn't like the pace. I notice the muscle behind the thigh also gets a little indignent. So, even with good CPKs and on meds and stuff, it's a hit and miss kind of disease and anybody's guess. You learn pacing quick, I'll tell you! LOL Lynn --- Annette Flamand wrote: > Ed... I've always felt that the weakness and pain > with myositis is > migratory. Guest guest
I think what I've learned is not pacing, it's fear, fear that at any time things could go bonkers LOL!! Have a great day!! Guest guest
Lynn I was dx in 1996, by 1997 my CPS's were normal so I was in " remission " . Yeah, right it's almost 2002 and I still have weakness, pain, depression, etc. etc., etc. In these diseases remission sucks! Teddi mailto:teddifromok@... Guest guest
Ed I know what you mean about fear. Sometimes you even fear good days because you know that you will pay for them in bad days. I used to be very independent and now I'm afraid of so many things. Again, you are right.....It ain't fair! Guest guest
HOW LONG IS THE SURGERY??= Depends on the surgeon some take an 1 1/2 hrs and others take 3 hrs? HOW LONG OFF WORK??= Again depends on your job type. I persona work in an office and my job was very supportive and I was off 2 wks. I was very tired when I went back to work and sometimes wish I had taken longer off. Theresa~ *The most beautiful things in the world can not be seen or even touched.
