Maybe as time goes on I will become a night owl but they way you all

are talking I would say no thank you, I would rather sleep during the

day and get up early. Now I get up early too because it takes me a

while to get going. Matter of fact my husband gives me my pain pills

one hour before i even get up, otherwise I wouldnt be able to get out

of bed!

Where I live now is too much for me with my RA I just dont have the

energy for it anymore I need somehting not so big and not a full 4

acres of mancured lawn either. So I suppose thats a good thing

about haveing a different auto-immune disease as you learn to accept

things that you cant change and make adjustements, that was a big

issue to me the first 3 years of my RA and I got that part down

now.... So I guess thats 1 point for me then!

I have a friend that did the same thing she just doesnt know what to

say. My other friend she knows all the right words and always helps

to make me feel better.

I dont know if he will either but he isnt my concern just me for now,

I deserve that and I am sorry he doesnt understand that.

I find I am always deleting what i typed because I cant seem to get

past the little comments we all make, like life is too short, and

those kinds.... I catch myself but that gets frustrating that you do

forget how big the little things are really....

Oh, 2 points at least for you....lol

Yes, the only lawn or garden for me will be artificial. In fact,

going to pick up my fall flowers tomorrow so I can plant them (stick

them in the ground or the styrofoam in my planter boxes).

Ok, so life is too short....I said it. But, you know what, I'm more

focused on life and living it than maybe I've ever been. I know that

sounds strange. My counselor who has been with me for a good while

even commented on that today. Now, I know the bad times and the ups

and downs await. But, still, its like there was some sort of a kick

in the butt that said make the most of every day and every year and

do what you can. In fact, I've even gone so far as to pick the ten

months between now and July 31 and figure the number of days I'd

probably want to stay home (every other day on average) and the

number of days with doctors and running errands and the remaining

number of days during that time to do enjoyable things. I'm going to

force myself to meet my quota. I'm going to have fun whether I like

it or not. Now, I have to come up with the ideas of the things I'd

most like to do during those days. As I approach July 31 I'll make

another list based on my health at that point. You know we watch that

we take our meds. We keep records of how frequently we do other

things. But we don't do well at all toward holding ourselves

accountable for " planned pleasant activities " . I was in a group once

where that was a homework requirement and you had to report back each

week. Well, it should be as much a part of our lives as anything

else. I challenge everyone to come up with a monthly number and make

sure you live up to it as a commitment to yourself. Now I just need

ideas......so far I have two zoos and Fossil Rim, an incredible

wildlife reserve on my list. Oh and I do have concert tickets for

February. I know i might not be in condition but if not, I'll sell

them. I'm just going to keep planning to enjoy things as best I can.

Heck, if I could figure out where I wanted to go, I'd really force my

hand by booking a vacation for next July. Then I'd have to do

whatever it took to take that vacation, oxygen wise or other wise.

Sandie,

When I first began to get sick with my Crohn's, I lost all my friends and distant relatives just couldn't

understand, so they decided to go their separate ways. It was a very stressfull situation because I would

spent 1 -2 months in hospital, sometimes I had to spent overnight stays, surgeries and birthdays...the hospital

kind of became my second home....and most of the times I didn't feel like having any visitors at home. Sometimes,

visitors would show up unexpected and my family always found an excuse to get rid of them.

At the moment I do have friend, I do stay away from conversations about my health because I don't want to see

those expressions with an open mouth and nothing to say, just stares...

Getting diagnosed with PF was a total shock for me because I was rushed to ER by my family....my blood pressure

had risen, my heart felt like it was going to be ripped out. I had a CT Scan, dr's looking for a blood clot and they found

PF, spent an overnight stay...they wanted to keep me longer, the next I was travelling and I love to travel!

Since, then I've been telling People "I have No Room for Drama in My Life". Just tell me straight out what you want to say

to me!

What I'm trying to say is:

-You have to Take Care Of You and you must do what is right for You!

I have heard of this sayings

"Don't Worry about Small stuff because it's just small stuff"

"Family and Good Friends will always be there for Good & Bad Moments"

I Hope Everything Works Out!

Sandie,

When I went for my transplant evaluation out of state, my insurance paid for EVERYTHING. They covered hotel, parking, meals, gas....even snacks. We stayed in a hotel adjoining the hospital. There were people there by themselves. Maybe a friend could go.

Sandie, make sure that you are given copies of every test and report done. It will be a wonderful reference to use later. I could not remember all that the doc said nor what the reports were. I got very detailed letters from docs and reports.

I want you to let us know how everything went as soon as you rest a bit after coming home.

, Isn't it interesting that the

usually mundane activities...getting up, showering and getting dressed

are now counted as stuff that takes from our energy!!!!

Two hours is my" get ready time"without factoring in drive time at

all!!!! Just taking all the medications after a small breakfast takes

so much time ( not even taliking about the amount of water needed!)

that I really need 2 hours!!! If I have to really look good , I need

more time for the make-up and hair!!!!

I may be ill but I still have to look good!!!! Just for myself!!!!

I'm slower with everything, but I do eventually get things done. It just

takes at least 5x the time and so much planning!

, Isn't it interesting that the

usually mundane activities...getting up, showering and getting dressed

are now counted as stuff that takes from our energy!!!!

It just

takes at least 5x the time and so much planning!

use to allow one hour to get ready plus whatever drive time. So,

scheduled changed and its annoying sometimes to realize I'm slower,

but ultimately no big deal....I just say, so what.
