Guest guest
Thanks , I checked into selling my house already earlier we would take a huge loss and I cant afford that right now. We do have our lake property on the market thats been on the market for awhile now. Once that goes then I can sell my house and a little loss wont matter but right now I have to sell the lake before the house or I will be SOL. I have insurance and my husband is taking insurance through the military so at least I have double coverage, he also can get long term care insurance as well so I told him to get all that he can. So far its just the other bills coming in like the 2 hospital stays in the last 4 months and the medication change for my RA that nailed me with a huge bill so I am trying to figure it out. My income is too high to qualify for anything I have tried doesnt matter how much debt I have I dont qualify for anything..... I am trying to get rid of all the stress and all that comes with it. It just takes energy and I am running out. Now granted I am not in that rough of shape. I dont where oxygen, and I can move around for the most part, I have some shortness of breath with that, and of course my joint pain from my RA and those pesky infections I keep getting but other then that I am doing ok, so really I dont have much to complain about and is petty compared to the other things that are important..... Guest guest
Sandi...thanks for keeping it...read it again girlfriend. It teaches us to let go. Regardless of what others do in their lives or ours. One I particularly like is: To Let Go does not mean to stop caring, it means I can't do it for someone else. Something else I cling to (not on list) is not to do something for others they can do for themselves. Hang on! Sher; ipf 3-06; OR.Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! Guest guest
Another advantage of downsizing is your oxygen tube is long enough to cover your entire home. I joke, but having just moved into my apartment before going on oxygen, I did suddenly realize the issues had I been in the last house I lived in. And, it was still just one story. What if you live in a two or even three story home. As to taking care of she's so right too. My apartment I have now is just absolutely perfect for me. Well, except its second floor, but thats solved on November 15 when I move down to the exact same model directly under me. > > > > > > > > I noticed that most people around here are night owls! Guest guest
Before I even knew I had a lung disease and not knowing why, shaving and showering and getting dressed had slowly started taking longer. I now just make sure I get up three hours before I need to be anywhere as running close or the possibility of being late stresses me. Yes, I use to allow one hour to get ready plus whatever drive time. So, scheduled changed and its annoying sometimes to realize I'm slower, but ultimately no big deal....I just say, so what. > > Sandie, > You're exactly right! Sometimes I sleep in till 10 and then it takes me a good hour to get showered and dressed since I rest in between. I have been trying to make myself get up by 8 to try and change this awful sleep pattern. > Sarcoid/PF 3/2006 California > > > Mornings....
Guest guest
But the good thing is you are thinking ahead and downsizing one thing at a time. You've broken through the mental barrier that affects so many of us, thinking we just have to hold on to what we have now. Separating mentally what we really need versus what we've been conditioned to think we need is a huge step. > > > > > > > > > > > > I noticed that most people around here are night owls!
Guest guest
There is an incredibly important term or concept in psychology called " radical acceptance. " Thats when we accept our circumstances, whatever they are and we are prepared to deal with them. Seems you're there and he isn't. Maybe he needs time, maybe he needs help from a counselor, maybe he can't get there. I don't know. But, you're right in taking a stance that you have to look out for yourself and that your life has changed. I hope maybe your directness will help him realize. I do think often its more difficult for family and friends than for us. I have one friend who just couldn't speak when I told her. She couldn't think of anything to say, although nothing needed to be said, and couldn't think of any other subjects. Not going to mention the subject I had to bring up to snap her back to reality and make her laugh against all her instincts at that moment. > > > > Sandi...did you get the " Let Go " I sent you? Guest guest
Maybe as time goes on I will become a night owl but they way you all are talking I would say no thank you, I would rather sleep during the day and get up early. Now I get up early too because it takes me a while to get going. Matter of fact my husband gives me my pain pills one hour before i even get up, otherwise I wouldnt be able to get out of bed! > > > > Sandie, > > You're exactly right!
