That makes so much since since we are all energy....well, I'm pagan and

that is the way we see all life forms....as the same energy.

I was skeptic when she sent me these magnets. They were just little low

gauss (a good one is 10,000 guase) magnets and I just stuck them in my

medicine cabinet because surely it couldn't work. But today I was so

desperate I gave them a try....and went out and bought some 10,000 gause

ones. They have all sizes and some are flexible for use on shoulders,

elbose, knees etc. They even had one for the back.

I'm a believer now and regret not trying them sooner.

I don't know any technical info....only that a friend thought I should

try them and she swears by them. They come in all sizes for different

areas of the body....I just bought 4 of the little ones (money was the

deciding factor because I wanted one of each <g>) and as one spot would

stop hurting I'd move the magnet to the next spot.

FYI...Don't use the tape that comes with them....it falls off and then

you lose the magnet..I bought some sensitive skin adhesive tape and it's

been working great.

All I know is they worked for me so I'm a believer.

Not everyone does good on the same drugs. Some

people do great on one drug and terrible on others. I

had the aches and pains on both synthroid and

unithroid, but am having less symptoms altogether on

unithroid. The supposed main difference between the 2 drugs

are fillers and dyes. Most likely with a " State

Owned " doc you will be beating your head against a wall

to get any t3 and since levoxyl is usually cheaper,

they probably aren't supposed to put you back on

synthroid. My doctors tried to tell me mine was the

beginnings of arthritis also, but it has always seemed to

come and go with both drugs and is very common with

thyroid sufferers.<br>Here are some links I recently put

Thanks so much for all the links! I'll bookmark

them and go through them later. I made an appointment

with a new doctor for next Wednesday-I haven't even

gotten the test results back yet from my last thryoid

test, I need to get those next week. If this doctor

doesn't let me try the T3, I guess I'll keep changing

till I find one that does. On this Unithroid, I have

more energy, but I also feel like I am about to jump

out of my skin! I have (had) two jobs, and at my day

job, I felt so edgy that when my boss yelled at me, I

told her off and walked out! I dont' know if it is my

thyroid " getting back in shape " or PMS...no telling!

One thing that I've learned in switching jobs

lately may or may not apply to you. If you have

continuous insurance coverage, your insurance company cannot

hold you to the 6 month waiting period for preexisting

conditions. You need to get proof of coverage from your

previous carrier, and submit it to your new insurance

company. I am not sure about if this applies to all

companies, but I believe it is a federal law. Perhaps

someone here knows more about it than do I. At any rate,

I would question your insurance companies about it.

Hi Sharon,

I did only 6 months of treatment before they stoped me but I aso

suffer more pain and aches than I did before I did the interferon......

I was not a responder so I don't know if that has anything to do with it

but the aches and pains gt bad after treatment.....

Hi All- Yeah I thought it was just " getting older " too. But once on the

tapazole (before the hives) I felt great - human for three days. Honest- I

hadn't felt that good in . . . .20 years. I'm working my way back into the

tap again but I have noticed my diet does do a number on me. Chocolate is the

worst. Had a hersey's last night and thought my heart was gonna bounce outta

my chest. You might want to keep a mental or written diary of your food

intake - and remember the effect of what you eat can show up immediately or a

days later.

So Sheri- Your stomach didn't tolerate the cleanse? Did you notice any

results? I'm looking through my calandar for the next best time to do a

fast/body cleanse. Hopefully in a couple of weeks. I was planning on doing

the lemon-oil thing but couldn't swallow it. . . =)

Hi Peta and Everyone:

One variation of the " lemon - oil thing " is. Juice of 1 whole lemon, 2

tablespoons of virgin olive oil, 2 tablespoons of water, pinch of cayenne,

slice of ginger mashed. Now take this mixture, then, if you like follow with

an herb tea. Supposedly if you do this for between 3-7 days it is going to

get rid of any gallstones.

I could only do this for the 3 days because the lemon, cayenne mixture tends

to be to rough on my stomach, I could feel the gastric reflux starting over

again (very painful) so I stopped. Perhaps it did do some good, not really

sure, my back is still bothering me. I have this little booklet I got in the

health food store it's one of the " alive Natural Health Guides " Liver

Cleansing Handbook by Rhody Lake. This has another liver cleanse done in one

day " probably make me sick " but, I might give it a try. It seems most of

the Liver Cleanses that I see are done with the same ingredients.

P.S. I used to get acid reflux really badly, before I ever got

hyperthyroidism, I have come to the conclusion the reason was because. 1/ I

was still smoking, 2/ My digestive system was changing, " less tolerant " of

some foods like onions, hot spicy stuff etc. etc. I think smoking was a big

one, I quit cold turkey about 4 -5 years ago when I found out I was

hyperthyroid and if I continued smoking my eyes could go buggy like a frog.

I already had some signs of graves. Today no graves just all these other

health issues I am trying to help get rid of.

Have a great day. Sheri

Hi there no name and Everyone:

Yes, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate. I go crazy for chocolate. After

dinner I am just craving chocolate, it's almost as bad as quiting smoking. I

go to the store, I pick up that chocolate bar then put it back, trying to be

a good girl, then dinner time comes, after dinner I go nuts so I go for the

cocoa and make myself a hot chocolate, it's very pathetic.

I wrote about the cleanse in my message to Peta. I'm going to try this

other one in the Liver Cleanse book using the same ingredients. It's done

all in one day so hopefully won't bother my stomach.

Keep on truckin. Sheri

Thanks Sheri!

The one thing I cannot seem to give up is Starbucks hot chocolate with

cream (and sometimes a Rocky Road biscuit to go with it) !! I've given up

alcohol and I don't smoke, so it's my ONLY vice!!

Liz,

You bring up a factor many do not realize. The joints most affected by my

Reactive Arthritis, i.e., Reiters Syndrome, over the years, which have swollen

to horrible demensions, are also the same ones now diagnosed as having

osteoarthritis. For example, my left knee has been swollen frequently as a

result of RS over the last 40 years. It is also the joint most affected by

osteoarthritis.

I would suppose that others on the list have similar stories.

Alice: I tried taking Meloxicam and it was like I wasn't taking anything at

all.. well maybe 50% of the Bextra. I am on Bextra (20mg/day) and it works

consistently. I take 20mg twice daily when I need to play guitar the next day. I

think 60mg would do very well but I just don't want to take such a high dose.

There are lots of choices and I think they all affect everybody differently.

I am full of questions, and I do have another one....I taek

Meloxicam as my anti-imflammatory...and some days it helps, but

other days, its like I am not taking anything at all. Does this

happen to anyone else with PA ? I am finally going to see a Rheumy

on the 29th, and I also would appreciate any tips on what kinds of

questions to ask that might help.

Thankyou all very much

Hi Alice,

I take Piroxicam and I experience the same problems. I have heard

this from other folks so I experimented. I did not take it for a few

days. By the 4th day I had my answer and started taking the Piroxicam

again. Even though it feels like some days the meds are not helping I

found that without them The bad days are much worse. This was a

foolish but I got an answer to this Question. I take some Tylenol to

help take the edge off the pain. Good luck to you. You should never

change your drug routine without the doc's ok. Just this once I had

to find out on my own.

Hi Judy,

You might want to add real sea salt to water for minerals 1/8 tsp. to a

glass (or more if it is too salty). Also might want to add magnesium. I

use magnesium gel from www.globallight.net. You just rub it on your body or

buy the flakes and soak. You can also soak in Epsom salts which will then

absorb through your skin.

aches and pains

Hello,

I am 45, slim and I am starting to have aches and

pains in my muscles, particularly my legs and feet. I

usually only where tennis shoes and I'm pretty active.

Walking my dogs in the woods about an hour every

morning.

I'm wondering if there is a supplement, or some

nutrition I am missing. I try to eat grass fed meats,

and lots of salads and other veggies, liver at least

once a week, milk and water kefir, kimchee and lots

of bone broths.

I take a lot of vitamin c,1/2 tsp blue ice clo, and a

vitamin b complex.

Every night my feet are cramping up, I'm getting a

bunion on the side of one foot, and I have Morton's

Neuroma in the other foot. My foot Dr. told me you

get these from too tight shoes, but I usually only

wear the tennis shoes, or flip flops in the summer.

Is their anything I can eat or take to help my muscles

out?

Thanks!

Judy

Judy,

I get leg cramps when I don't supplement with calcium/magnesium and

take one tsp. each dolomite and Now brand bone meal every day to

prevent them. Perhaps some epsom salt baths might also be useful for you.

Do you have any white spots on your nails? Are you getting at least

the rda of cal/mag--and hopefully more--daily? I'm guessing not, from

what you listed, unless you drink a lot of milk each day--do you eat

much cheese?

Also, imo Morton'e neuroma is caused by walking on the ball of the

foot, instead of distributing the weight evenly accross the whole

foot, which causes a spot beneath the foot where it meets the

toe--where there is a nerve-ending--to make weighted contact on a

continual basis, which is tremendously irritating, since this spot on

the foot shouldn't be weight-bearing, particularly, it should be

tucked up and underneath.

This can be greatly aggravated by the shoes, like if you always wear

stiletto heels, for instance--or if the shoes are too tight--but

it's typically a matter of habitual stance. Thus, it can be

corrected--or at least eased considerably--by becoming aware of how

you stand upon the feet, and learning to press down upon the entire

sole of the foot evenly, as if there were four corners to the foot,

and each was given equal pressure, paying especial attention to the

heels, and bringing the weight of the back of the body down upon them.

Sometimes, from too-tight shoes--or cleats, from childhood

sports--have deformed the foot somewhat, and caused the toes to be

drawn up permanently, as the tendons on the top of the foot become too

tight, exposing that tender little nerve-ending. This is a little

more problematic, and though you can work it out yourself, you would

likely benefit greatly from someone who can do myofascial work on the

feet as well as demonstrate for you the fundamentals of posture,

stance, and gait.
