Guest guest
--Wish I would have known about the TLS syndrome and a reversal at tax season, could've used that money for the TR. Now it's gonna seem like ages before it ever happens. If I would have known of TLS before the TL I would have never let the family talk me into it to begin with. I understand that there is no 100 percent chance of ever conceiving even after a TR but if god wishes who this not to happen at least I will be whole again and hopefully the TLS will diminish. robin - In TubalLigationReversal@y..., & <lorak2000@y...> wrote: > Robin, > Welcome. > Good question. Guest guest
Hi , You can buy a basal body thermometer for pretty cheap at the most pharmacys. You should start taking your temp on the first day after you get your period. Take you temp by mouth after at least 4 hours of steady sleep, before you get up at all. There is a book you can get at the library called " Taking charge of your fertility " that explains how to chart, among other things, that will teach you so much. I learned when I O and how long my cycles were etc.. I hope this has helped! Luv, TR 08/12/02 (8 days!!) __________________________________________________

Guest guest
A Basal thermometer is more accurate. I preferred to take it by mouth and I did take it every day of the month to get a clear picture. in MI DD 4/91 DD 6/94 TL 6/94 TR 4/02 EDD 3/03 Question Does anyone know what type of thermometer I should use and should I use it by mouth or how? I know I use it before I move in the morning. I want to start charting. My savings are growning (some) and I want to get a good idea of when I O. I also need to learn how many days my cycle is. Also do you check your temp everyday of the month or just certain days? Thanks for helping me out in advance. Huggs, ~
Guest guest
I was curious about the Nissen procedure. The doctors decided against it for my son, . He has done very well with the J-tube. His feeding tube by-passes his stomach completely. He had reflux so terrible. He was constantly throwing up when he was a new born and up until about 5 months of age. He has continuely improved since the tube was placed into his intestines and out from his nose. The NJ tube was horrible. Very traumatic each and every time we had to replace the tape or when it happened to get pulled out. Any information regarding this would be helpful. I am also not too informed on atresia. does not suffer from this. God bless to all. Lynda Dean, charger mom dean2313@... dean2313@... Guest guest
Lynda, I am not sure if this post was addressed to me but I thought I would answer it to make sure. Brittney only had a g-tube and back in Febuary she had the NISSEN (a twisting of the stomach to stop acid reflux from coming back up) I will say that it has completely stopped the acid reflux and toned down the secretions alot. When she gets a cold they start back up again but that is normal. When Britt got the Nissen I could start to tell a big difference in her, the only thing, she got dumping from it.. But she is gaining weight now it is just taking some time. I hope that something I said answers the ? that you were looking for, just let me know if you need anything!! I will try to help!! Guest guest
sue, I just wnated to say that Sierra's continual recurrences with illnesses is typical for CHARGE kids. My son was in and out of the intensive care all the time for the first two years. In the beginning, the kids tend to be so sick and there bodies are weak so they catch everything. Surgeries also compromise their strength and their ability to ward off viruses. I remember how careful we were to keep Bryce away from anyone with even a cold, but he still ended up back in the PICU every 2-3 weeks for a while. BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS, now he is almost never sick. Really, since he was 2 1/2 (he is now 5) he is quite healthy. He gets a lot of sinus infections so still needs anti-biotics for those but that is due to his cleft palate anatomy. Almost all CHARGERs are very sick in the beginning but then take a dramatic turn for the better after the first year or two. Then the little CHARGERS start to charm the pants off of everyone. The first years are really tough. Deedee
Guest guest
As far as the suctioning goes we have a lot of experience. Unfortunately, the only way to get Jillyan's airway clear was with the suction machine. If you are concerned about introducing germs you can change out the suctioning catheter every time after each use. With Jillyan's choanal atresia the bulb suction was a waste of our time if we wanted some sleep -- and if she wanted some sleep. Her secretions remained quite thick and constant for about the first six months. Then after that we probably suctioned her in the morning and at night. At about 8 months of age we gave back the suction machine and the very next day she got an upper respiratory infection requiring an ER visit because we could not clear her airway with the bulb syringe and after that we got a nebulizer to open her up. Starting in June all of a sudden her secretions went away -- or she learned to deal with them -- either way it has been great. Of course this is all after two laser surgeries to reopen her nose (1 was 1 month after her tubes came out and the other was 6 months later -- both times the scar tissue began to block her nose again). Best of luck. Huggins Wife to Robin, Mom to Hailey (5), Jillyan (15 months) Question My granddaughter Sierra has gone home from the hospital twice now and within 22 hours (the first time, 48 the second time) she is back in the NICU. It seems Sierra can't stay well more than 5 or 6 days. She has had a UTI, NEC, sinus infection, blood infections and numerous operations. My daughter in law asked me to write and ask all of you if any of your little CHARGERs have elevated white cell counts because their systems are always fighting something or is this just Sierra with her immune system.(other words is this normal for CHARGE) It has been really frustrating to my daughter in law and son that everytime they think Sierra is healthy enough to come home and then something else comes up. We thought for sure she was ready to come home this time and so did all the nurses and doctors in the NICU and here she is back in the hospital within 48 hours of her being discharged. Also I know I have read about your CHARGERs having secretions. Sierra has bilateral choanal atresia. At about 6 days old she had it lasered open and she wore stints in her nose for over 3 months. They took them out about a week ago and it seems that her nose is always stuffed up. The blub suction just doesn't get the mucus out but we don't want to suction her with the more invasive with the tube down her nose and throat because it introduces more bacteria. Do you have any suggestions in what to do? Also another queston and I know you all talked about this not long ago on the list. Sierra doesn't seems to tolerate heat very well. How have you dealt with this? My daughter in law is going to ask the doctor in the NICU today to test Sierra's thyroid to see if she may have a hypothyroid. Thanks in advance for the advise Sue, grandma to Sierra 4 1/2 months (CHARGE)

Guest guest
My daughter, , just turned two last week. She had bilateral choanal atresia and now has one side successfully open. I flush the closed side with a bulb syringe and saline to keep the drainage down. As for the open side, she seems to clear it pretty well on her own, however, she does get " plugs " that she eventually works. We occasionally flush the open side when it seems to be full of " ick. " (I heat the saline a little so it is more comfortable for her.) had a trach for her eight months of life. She spent the first 6 weeks in the NICU, and 2 weeks on the " floor " before she came home for the first time. After that she was in the hospital for 2 weeks out of every month due to infections. That lasted for about eight months. After that she has gotten healthier and luckily we just go to the hospital for scheduled procedures. I think she was just weak and very vulnerable to infection because she had such a rough start! Good luck.
