I cannot. I am the only witness as he has had no one to his house for the 5

years we dated AND he is a breeder of some notoriety. I value my life at

this point and since only I and a few others are witness to this, and no one

is willing to cooperate, I am alone in this. I am too sick to fight this.

His landlord has seen the house and was going to evict him but he paid up

his rent and continues on. Since everyone he dated before me knows of his

animal abuse and did nothing except to leave him, I am not going to call

animal abuse. I don't know they would do anything since the last time I

called animal abuse regarding a neighbor shooting neighborhood animals and

skinning them and hanging them from a telephone pole, animal abuse did

nothing but pay a visit, no charges and no reprimands......................I

doubt they would take his animals just because they are crated and dirty.

> I know that is why I got that letter from that acquaintance last

fall. He told me that I was a toxic, lazy person and that everyone

hates me like he does. This is the only place I get real

understanding, and I appreciate you all!

Well, , that letter was unnecessary & only served himself.

If you were that toxic & lazy, why didn't he just walk away? We don't

always have to say EVERYTHING that's on our minds, especially when

it's harsh & destructive!

>

Like you, , I am considering things. Would I be better off

alone? Hmmmm....I need to think about that.

The reason that I have chosen not to elaborate further on that subject

here, is that I've realized that the decision to end/continue a

marriage is usually not a decision that's made in a day or is as

simple as stepping over a line. I think it's something that one grows

into & it's a series of decisions made over a longer period of time.

I'm sure that you will make the right decision eventually.

My DD probably wouldn't speak to me again, as she is like me and is

daddy's little girl, so I will stay, I think.

I'm sure your daughter loves you for you, not for just being married

to dad. If you decide to end your marriage, I would hope that she

would be able to understand that he was hurting you & your life more

than helping it. If not, unfortunately, she may be a member of the

less compassionate club. It's your marriage, not hers.

And the poor dogs would go from his crates to an animal shelter and probably

destroyed. So in the long run, they would be crated anyway. That is one

reason I left him. It is sickening but he has been doing this same thing

for years.

Exactly! And it's a startling discovery when you're going along with

your life all normal-like & suddenly become deathly ill, only to

realize that those whom you thought were there for you are too much

into their own whatever to care for you the way you've cared for them.

ly, I think that I'm doing pretty well, considering that I became

ill & discovered this in October & it's now February - a mere four

months later! - and I'm already working to put it in its place in my life!

Just a question...if everything is so right in your world, why are you

here? Not intending to be snarky, but if between your beliefs & there

being a cure for everything, I'm wondering why you found your way

here? Being on this forum seems incongruous with what you're preaching.

The only thing that I can see here is that you are judging people with

this comment. I really don't think that it's fair to make these kind

of assumptions about people. How can you possibly know what people

have considered or delved into?

Phil - I think this happens to many couples because you end up taking each other

for granted. I know the feeling of being with someone and still feeling lonely.

Counseling could help. Have you tried it?

And this is still going on in my life. My family avoid me but when the

think they can get something for nothing, they are calling constantly. I

mentioned moving and my brother thinks he will get my house at a reduced

price!! I have just remodeled the kitchen, bathrooms, am getting a new roof

and can sell it for much more than I paid for it. Yet brother thinks I will

actually sell it to him for less than I owe!! His only question to me was

Will my truck fit in your garage? " That did it for me. He did not make an

effort to get a bank loan. He applied on line and when they asked for

documentation of work and W2s he never sent it. He basically thinks he can

have the house and just pay rent, and less rent than my mortgage and still

be paying to own it! Incredible!!!

So I have to constantly watch out for this. I am mad at myself for allowing

this for so long! My mom has no use for me unless she wants me to give her

more of my Armour and HC!

It is a very alarming and sad discovery. It is my own doing as I was raised

to be the servant. I have decided to have no more of this in my life.

This is why I broke up with the bf and do not contact my family members. I

ahve a sister who I will be giving money to since her doctor hubby cannot

bring home any income. My dad left me and brother money (for which I lost

most of in a lawsuit by dad's ex girlfriend who decided they were really

married, long story).

Now I decided to give my sister some of the money since she was not in dad's

will. The only thing she needs to do is send me her checking account number

so I can put the money in her account (we have same bank). That is easiest

for me since I commute to work and am ill. She has not bothered sending me

the account number. In the past I have lent her money and gotten it across

the country via wiring it, within an hour. I have been trying to get the

money to her for 6 months! She has commented that she does not want to pay

taxes on it, as if there is any tax.

So I am supposed to do a lot of work to get her this money! I told her last

week to send me the account number or tell me how she wants the money to be

sent. I get a social email never mentioning it. My family and ex bf have a

history of getting services from me and when I have offered, it ends up

being so much more work for me that I am just staying alone, period. I

cannot fathom someone who is about to receive 10k totally free, trying to

make me work to get it to her (sister).

So in this respect I do believe I created what happens with people in my

life. I did not however, create the family that pushed me into this role

starting as a small child who had to take care of my siblings and parents.

Getting out of this role has been very hard ..........

diabetes skips generations....................

-- Re: Personal issue - friends dropping like flies?

Lynda,

I'm not saying we can change out " genetic predisposition " , but I believe

that when we have a breakdown or imbalance of mental, spiritual, physical,

that we are more likely to get what we are genetically predisposed to. My

grandmother had diabetes for example, but none of her four children nor her

grandchildren (now in their 40's) developed it. Just because it was in their

genes, doesn't mean that it will manifest. My problems are all endocrine,

but I know that even though endocrine problems are in my family, I got sick

because of my emotional response to my environment. I wasn't being true to

myself for years and trying to people please instead and trying to take care

of everybody else's needs and trying to be perfect. My body broke down to

send a message that " you can't do this anymore " . This is what I mean.

I couldn't agree with you more, .

Sometimes it's just physical.

I think that sometimes it makes us FEEL more in control & able to

accept it to think that somehow we created it & can make it go away as

well. It takes away the unfairness of it all. Like why is Joe Blow a

total a$$hole with good health, and here is someone else - a good

person - with lots of problems.

I, too, saw The Secret & thought it was pretty amazing (although I'm

almost positive that I'm one of those that Ginger thinks is in the

" doesn't contemplate my own personal power " category). In fact, I've

incorporated the concepts into my world & have seen a difference. I'm

now getting a good hour or two of productive time in the mornings,

which is far better than before, when I had zero hours of productive

time.

But even The Secret can't change something like gluten intolerance.

But here's the amazing thing - I CAN & I HAVE! No more gluten for me

- nope, not even tempted, because I want to get better more than

anything! I want my life back!

Sometimes things are greater than our thoughts. Death is indeed

greater than our thoughts.

God is more powerful than our thoughts. And I am not so arrogant to

assume that just because I want something that God automatically hears

me & gives it to me because I want it & because I " get it " . Perhaps

there may be something larger at play here that I have no ability to

understand.

My grandmother had diabetes for example, but none of her four children

nor her grandchildren (now in their 40's) developed it. Just because

it was in their genes, doesn't mean that it will manifest.

Maybe it's simpler than that.

Maybe they didn't inherit that genetic material. That's why it hasn't

manifested.

I used to believe it was all in our heads. I used to be a long-distance

swimmer, tennis player, hiker, camper, aerobics 5 times a week, biking and

walking many miles, the picture of health. That all collapsed when I got

Lyme. And it was not diagnosed for years so when it gets to late stage

there is no way to undo damage.

It was then that I realized that there really are sick people who CANNOT

HELP IT! They did nothing to get childhood cancer (as my sister did) my

father did not create the asbestos that he inhaled while working which

contributed to his cancer but he was denied there was a connection, etc.

I do realize there are many people who neglect their heath as well. My

brother never excercises and smokes like a chimney yet he remains in good

health.

I do agree we contribute in some cases but there are just as many cases

where we are unknowingly contaminated (floride, benzene, mercury) or just

plain unlucky with genes/DNA defects.

So it was a very rude awakening for me to become ill and incapacitated.

I agree, Lynda, because if I knew that the cascade of physical

problems that occurred in my life would have brought me to this point,

I would have addressed them years ago, when they first started being a

problem.

The drs should have, but I guess they didn't know what they were doing.

I WOULD NOT have set myself up for this. Especially if all it took

was some progesterone cream or iodine.

Right.

For years I tried to " positive think " myself out of what started as

low-grade depression & eventually increased to full-scale depression.

Couldn't figure out why I kept going in the downward spiral, because I

was trying so damn hard.

Until I started thyroid meds. Then I understood it perfectly.

Because as soon as I got to a reasonable dose, I was no longer

negative or depressed.

So, obviously, it wasn't in my head, and all of the positive thinking

& therapy & this & that didn't work, because I needed thyroid hormone.

Plain & simple.

I think that it's great that everyone here shares their different

thoughts & philosophies, but to assume that the " we create our own

illness " model works for everyone in every situation is foolhardy.

Yes, I tried Prozac, Zoloft, etc, and did not improve much. However, since

I started Armour, I have not been depressed again, tho I now have more

reason to be, lol!

I agree totally that God is within us & that we are a part of God, not

some guy with a white beard behind the pearly gates.

But I don't think that I am the " whole " God. And sometimes our

" wants " may not be a part of the bigger scheme. That's probably a

good thing.

Powerful beyond our wildest dreams...we probably are & just need to

start to believe it. And even then, I think that sometimes we are

given something to deal with that we just don't want. For reasons

that we can't/don't understand, and for reasons that may have nothing

to do with us. (And just to be clear, I'm not even referring to my

illness here...I've seen lots of purpose in that already, even if

there is none!)
