You used to say....it will come off, it will come off....We CAN do

this. I drank 3 32 Oz. glasses of water before 2 p.m., and have

over 1/2 of another one gone now. I guess it's time to figure out

what's for suppoer. Chicken wings?? Steamed broccoli?Sp far, so good.

Catch you later.

I'm just suggesting Pamela that we set a goal of Valentine's Day to serve as

an focal point! For that month, define a challenge for yourself. You might

want to set a weight loss goal or some behavioural goal (choose something

you have difficulty with). The hope is that by setting that challenge

period, you can focus your efforts on meeting your challenge and not feel

overwhelmed with the vastness of the overall challenge of getting down to

goal weight. and some others are doing an even more focused challenge

of getting through the next meal legally - go Jean!!!

Some of us do better when there is some light showing through at the end of

the tunnel. I don't think I'm prepared to really organize a challenge - I

have to start turning my focus back to school work now. I think it would be

great if somebody tracked challenges and prompted for reports (weekly or

daily or whatever) so that we had some accountability.

Personally, my challenge to myself for the next month is:

1. Keep my carbs at under 30 per day.

2. Keep working on testing foods with my elimination diet (but if I hit

an intolerance food, I'll give myself 2 days (and no more!) of eating

not-necessarily-safe foods before getting back on the wagon and doing

another water fast to cleanse).

3. Drink at least 96 glasses of water a day.

4. Drink no more than 2 cups of tea a day.

Any volunteers to track this stuff?

Kirstie

Kirstie, would you mind defining the challenge? I want to do it, but need

it spelled out for me. Thankx. Pamela

My own personal challenge will be to stay wonderfully low-carb, and get in 100 oz of water per day until Valentine's day. I only lost 10 pounds for my first two weeks of induction - the least I've ever lost during induction - but I'll take it!

I wonder if you seem to lose more when you drink in 'clumps' rather than

little sips because you may eat less (not necessarily a 'have to' with this

WOL....but...)...as water tends to fill one up, which helps us to eat less?!

Just a thought...

Hi Come on now You can do this. Maybe you should reread the atkins

book it might give you some renewed incentive to stick to the program.

You have done so well don't let those slips ruin your progress. Wishing

you the best and hope you find the willpower to stick with it.

I think I'm going to stick to the carbolite nuggets

which taste so much better than the bars (think just

chocolate, no mediciney tasting stuff in the

middle)..they are pricey..but they have .5g for 1

piece...I allow myself 1 a day...and they are

individually wrapped which makes THAT easier (and the

fact they are $7 for 14!!)

Robin, Kirstie, , Nan, etc.

I made it through a full day and am off to a good start on my second day. I

got all of my water in yesterday, though admittedly the last 3 cups were by

chugging right before bedtime. I think I got up 4 times during the night.

LOL But it worked and I am down 1.5 from where I was yesterday morning.

For someone who never whooshes anymore I was very pleased. I will not wait

until bedtime to do all that drinking again though. I have gone through

nearly 1 liter of water already today. I am going to try to remember to

keep refilling the three one liter bottles I have and I will take two to

work and leave one at home for easy tracking of how much I have had. I

really only need between 64-72 ounces of water a day for my weight, so if I

can get two of them down at 33.8 ounces each I figure I will have met my

water requirements. I should get some extra bottles I guess to keep at work

in case I forget to bring them home for refills or bring them back with me.

I now have one more pound to go and I will be back at my pre-DC trip weight

of 142. That will be one goal. Then 140 so I am back within 5 of my goal

weight. Then just to get back to my goal weight.

Baby steps is the key to me. So I am looking at today's lunch challenge and

praying for strength. I already passed up bakery goodies and around Central

Iowa, Pella's bakeries have a reputation for outstanding products. One

goal, one meal, one snack at a time.

Now everyone take another sip of water with me! Oops, just polished off

that first liter and it isn't even noon yet!

Robin,

Go ahead and blame your weight on the scale. Next time I go nuts with

eating I may have to remember that " buy a new scale and blame it on that "

trick. LOL Like you, my pants already feel better today. Not so much

because of the weight loss as that I don't feel so bloated when I avoid

carbs. So why do I keep going back to them? Yup, I am a carb addict!
