What's your plan for lunch Jean?

I just ate 4 roasted chicken drum sticks and 1 cup of frozen

brocolli/cauliflower mix topped with a couple of ounces of cheddar cheese -

it actually reheated nicely!

Kirstie

(still needing to drink 12 more oz. of water before that 1st cup of tea can

happen!)

yay jean....

brings up a question I keep forgetting to ask..is it

better to space out your water or to drink it quickly

in *clumps*?

I find I lose more if I drink a lot at a time....than

if I sip casually all day long...

any comments?

I don't know...I drink mine in 16 oz spurts and I lose

quite well usually :) I tend to think that as long as

you get a LOT in, does it really matter?

Hmm...I wonder if it does?

I want you to know that I had some horrible cravings

for pizza earlier and I decided I was going to stop

on the way home from work and get some. Well,

wouldn't you know it, everytime I thought of pizza after

I made the decision to get some, I heard your name in

my head. I am not kidding LOL. Your name has been

in my head for hours. I passed up the pizza for you so

make it through this day for me =-)

I'll be waiting to hear how you end your day.

Thanks, Laverne. I made it through lunch today and passed up a decadent

dessert this afternoon that someone was sharing. So I think it will be

another good day. Breakfast and dinner I eat at home and bring my own

treats, so lunch which I eat out with my sister is my real challenge because

our options here are quite limited. Today I had a grilled chicken Caesar

salad and avoided all of the croutons as well as the whole can of mandarin

oranges they put on the side and the roll. I was going to do a pork loin

roast in the crock pot today, but I didn't think about it in time and had

hit the snooze alarm once too often to mess with it. I will get it all

prepared for tomorrow tonight so that all I need to do is plug it in. I'm

open to suggestions on how to fix it in the crock pot, I know it was a

discussion topic a couple of weeks ago, but...

I am part way through my second liter of water for the day, so that should

not be a problem. I did get lots of exercise tripping to the bathroom all

night long last night though!

I ate very, very well yesterday but I have to bring some treats this Friday

to work and I think I will make one LC treat and one regular high carb

treat. Well, looking at the recipes really set off some cravings. So I

might experiment with some new LC treats that everyone might like to avoid

the temptation. I did resist the cravings, but I couldn't believe how

strong they were just from looking at recipes!

I am a carb addict, but I can beat this.

Kirstie, sorry I wasn't able to get back with my plans prior to lunch, but I

did very well. A grilled chicken salad with none of the extras. So I think

I will survive day 2 unless something unexpected throws me off.

SK, I really don't know if it is better to drink all your water at once or

space it out. I have never really analyzed it, but it did work well last

night. I normally weigh once a day in the a.m. Last night, being on

induction mode, I weighed when I got home from work and was at the same

144.5 I was at in the a.m. I actually thought that was pretty good because

I normally weigh heavier throughout the day, which is why I generally don't

weight more than first thing in the a.m. Well, after chugging all that

water right before bedtime I was up to 146. Now I knew it had to be the

water, but it was kind of depressing because when I have weighed at night, I

have noticed that I tend to lose 1.5 between my bedtime weighing and my a.m.

weighing. Well, I thought great, now all I will do is lose the 1.5 I gained

since 5:30. It was really nice seeing a 3 pound difference or 1.5 pounds

from one morning to the next. Maybe Robin, queen of the quick losers, can

tell us if her big whooshes come from drinking her water all at once. I

know she believes water is the key, and we all know Robin is always right,

right? :-)

Hi - I here you on the baby steps. I've got my carbs under control

- now I need to work on my portions!!!

Today I had two sausage links and a fried egg for breakfast, along with

a big glass of water. I had some peanuts as a quick snack (not my best

choice, but it'll have to do) along with a diet drink (again, not my

best choice). I had a strawberry DP shake for lunch (I have lunch duty

at school and have about 10 minutes to eat, so this is fast and

nutritious). I am now home and famished, but in a good way. I'm about

to mix up a meatloaf and some cole slaw to get dinner started (yes, *I*

am cooking). I just have to remember that just because it's meat

doesn't mean I can eat it ALL!!!

I saw little improvement this week over last. Of course, I've had LOTS

of dairy this past week and as well as a lot of sodium, and my portions

have been huge.

I think I'll wait two weeks until my next weigh-in/measurement to see

what changes. Hopefully I'll see a change soon in the way my waistbands

fit. I have HORRIBLE PMS (may I recommend that you do NOT watch the

movie " Stepmom " if you are prone to PMS meltdowns?), and I feel like a

bloaty boar. : (

Robin, don't you dare even think about pizza. I was doing so well on my

last two months of the year challenge until you stopped reporting daily.

YOU MAY NOT DO THAT TO ME AGAIN, DO YOU HEAR ME!!! You should, as I was

yelling at the top of my e-mail lungs. LOL If I have to guilt you into

being good, so be it. Terry has done that to me on numerous occasions, so I

figure it is permissible to do to you. :-) But just in case it isn't okay,

I'll stop yelling as I wouldn't want to take Terry away from her precious

little bundle of joy to break up any fights. :-)

Right now I am planning on ending my day with a left over pork chop and some

cauliflower, celery, and perhaps some cream cheese. And more water, though

I should really have all my water in by the time I get off work today. I am

making very good headway through my second liter and two liters will pretty

much be my requirement if you go by the 64 ounces plus 8 for every 25 pounds

overweight. I am really right where the charts tell me I should be based on

my height, but I am 8 pounds from my goal. Two liters would be 67.6 ounces,

so I am well on my way.

Hi ,

Have I said lately how pleased I am that you and Kirstie are back after your

fall term breaks from the list? And speaking of returnees, Marcy is keeping

pretty quiet lately. It sounds like you have done well on the eating. I

tend to have both too many carbs and portions that are too big. At least

you have the carbs under control.

Anyway, my baby steps are working out. I had 4 slices of bacon for

breakfast and water, no morning snack, though I did pass up illegal bakery

goods this morning and this afternoon. So far I have not had a snack this

afternoon either. Lunch was a grilled chicken salad. At this point I may

just skip the snacks now and munch on raw celery or cauliflower tonight. I

can't decide what to do with the cauliflower. I may make caulitaters, and I

may just leave it raw to munch on. I read somewhere that raw carrots were

fairly low carb if you deduct the fiber but cooked carrots are higher in

carbs because the fiber breaks down. Is this true for cauliflower also?

Does anyone know? I have a pork chop and some turkey breast at home that I

can have with whatever I do with my cauliflower. I am laying off the salads

at home as that is my fall back item for eating out every day at noon.

Thanks, Beth. It seems like it should be such an easy thing, but after

doing maintenance without really gaining for several months, when I could

get away with a true cheat here and there with no problem, it is a struggle

when weight loss is needed again. Each time I pass up the decadent, I have

to report in, because it is a big deal now. LOL It's bad enough when they

just have something setting in the break room, but this afternoon a kindly

coworker actually brought it into my office with the offer to share. She

was being so kind, and it really took all I had to say no.

I am pleased to report that right now, 4:50 p.m., I have ALL of my day's

water requirement in! Maybe I will go for another liter tonight and see if

I can lose another 1.5 by tomorrow. Greed, thy name is Jean. LOL

I have read the same thing, but I've never seen any

scientific report on it or anything.

Of course I am of the opinion that you are best off

eating your food in the most " whole " form possible..as

close to what it started out as....also raw veggies

are more filling...and crunching is very satiating and

good for stress....

Last reason to eat your veggies raw: DIP. :)

I didn't get any pizza. I just finished eating a baked chicken breast

and

it was so good, I'm cooking some more. Think I'll have a bowl of salad
