Ken, You can have a cookie every day if you want; but yo will need to not

eat someother sort of carb then. If your cookie has 15 grams of carb (and

the package should tell yo how many carbs are in them), then you eat that

may less carbs of food that is good for you. It is, however, better for

your body to eat carbs that are giving you vitamins and minearals and fiber

than a cookie. But, you have to make this decision. Which is better for

you? Satify a sweet tooth or do something good for your body. There are

calorie free things like Life Savers that are made with Splenda that taste

sweet, but do not add carbs. Or make sugar free Jello. Learning to

subastitue sugar free for sugared things is the trick. We all here are glad

to help!

Re: how much can I have of the sweet stuff using

Hi ; If I can keep my sugar levels down around about say, 6.0,

would that allow me to indulge in a cookie or two each day? I want to do

what's best and at the same time, I want to do right for my health and as

you can see, I'm just trying to clarify my understanding re how to do this

or that in general. Ken b

With today's technology and knowledge there is no need for a diabetic to be

classified as a brittle diabetic, which just means that this person's

glucose levels go from extreme lows to extreme highs and from extreme highs

to extreme lows. To eliminate brittle diabetics or brittle diabetes three

things are needed.

1. One must know how to count.

2. Know what to count.

3. The knowledge on how to do it along with some essential medical

supplies.

As simple as it sounds, it is true. Are you a so-called brittle diabetic?

If you are, you definitely need to learn how to master blood glucose

control. Brittle diabetics usually die from the complications of diabetes

and lack of mastery of the three things listed above.

It beats me. Have your doctors told you that you are a brittle diabetic?

Have any of them taken the time to teach you how to be equipped with the

knowledge on how to cure brittle diabetic syndrome?

If not, we can teach you how to master blood glucose control right here.

No, you cannot cure brittle diabetes by just counting carbs. You also need

to know exactly how many grams of carbs each unit of Humalog will handle.

Once you know these two things; the number of carbs you consume at each

meal; the number of grams of carbs each unit of Humalog handles, then you

are now on your way to mastery of blood glucose control.

For instance how many units of Humalog do you use per grams of carbs

consumed?

How long is Humalin active in your system?

I know that I should watch my noutricionso will look into the splenda thing and

I think I'll bake some cookies with splenda too but just as a treat. I found

some russel stougher' and witman sugarless chocolates and find that they're

quite satisfactory with a carb reading of 9 so that's not too bad. Ken b

I am wondering, as the subject indicates, if I can have that small piece

of

pie or say a couple of sweet cookies, or such, each day if I manage to

keep

my sugars down by taking say, some Metformen, or the like? You know,

enough to keep down the suger levels. BTW, I am trying a *cromium*

tablet

that states on the bottle, that I should only take one a day, so has

anyone

on list tried some of these natural food suppliments to keep the dreded

sugar down? I'm a type two diabetic. Thanks for any advise. Ken b in
