yatatataya! That's all folks! Is that it, ? Truly Looney Tunes, huh?

After

spending an hour and a half on a cold, hard, x-ray table today, bending my

hurting hip

in impossible directions (I felt like telling the technician to shove my foot

you know

where.), they made me come back and do them all over again. He forgot the

film! Yup.

Not my day, either. So, move over, Bugs, I'm comin' to join ya. Love, MM

Oh, Laurie, I'm afraid I can't stand Martha, but I appreciate that you meant

it as a

compliment. I just happen to have been raised in poverty, and making do was

a way of

life. My mother always claimed she had no creativity, yet she made our home

lovely

and well put together with old or used items. I think she learned to do

really good

cooking as a creative outlet, also. She was a good writer, and always wanted

to have

the time to write a book. So, we all have our own areas of talent and

expertise. I'm

afraid I am one of those sickening people who can take a beat up old milk can

and make a kitchen stool out of it that everyone wants to use. Just a knack,

I guess. Like

my sister makes the best cheesecakes in the world, and the best sugar

cookies. Each

of us has a talent, but it is our diversity that makes it interesting. Love,

MM

Oh, now, Normi, I didn't get mad...this time. I just told Laurie that I

really don't like

Martha, but that I understand she was handing me a compliment. I really do

hate

Martha, though, as you well know. I think she is a smarmy piece of work.

Maggie, I can agree with you about gastro docs, too. LOL About the

grapevine tree...

I just cut them as long as possible, strip the leaves, and soak them in the

bathtub

overnight. You have to soak them to prevent them bending or breaking when

you form

the wreaths. I make a giant wreath, bending it around my big round soup pot

as a form. The wreath should be at least 24 " in diameter. I then take five

wooden stakes

(like for staking up beans) that are 6' in height, pointed side down, and

secure each

one in the wreath. I make each secure by cutting a small notch about 2 " from

the

bottom of each stake, then using paddle wire, I wrap the wire around the

notched

portion of the stake and into the wreath itself. Each stake should be poked

directly

into the sides of the wreath to a depth of 2+ " , and then wired in place. I

then bring

the tops of the stakes together teepee fashion and wire them together. This

makes

a stable form for the rest of the vines. I then take the soaked vines and

wind them

around the teepee, starting at the bottom and working my way up the tree. I

wire the

thicker end of the vine on a stake immediately above the last vine, and wire

it on as

I go. I don't wire every pass, just at the beginning of each vine, in the

middle, and at

the skinny end. I use a thin, green florist wire, but any dull colored wire

will do.

Once I have covered the form with vines, I allow the things to dry for two

days. Then

I wind white mini lights on it, hot glue fabric roses, or grapes, or whatever

takes my

eye that I happen to have around in my crap, add dried natural materials from

my

yard, and set it up in the front window. I use wired ribbons to trim it, and

there you

are. All done, and a real artsy fartsy piece. Love, MM

Maggie, Don't apologize. I like long emails that are newsy. And, don't

those vines

start at ground level? You cut them lower down and use the whole thing, at

least, I

do. Sorry you got tired so quickly, but then, so do I. I do one thing, then

rest, then do

the next thing. Small steps works best for me. I still have trouble

budgeting my

energy, and even when I remember, sometimes I come up short. But, I keep

trying.

Can't give up, I'm too stubborn. LOL Take care, Love, MM

Hi, Normi. I found an ad for this great bear that has a different sweater

for each

month. The company is Dream Products, Inc. at 412 Dream Lane, Van Nuys, CA

91496.

He is 12 " tall, and the sweaters are cute as a button. He's $9.97, + $4.95 s

& h.

He's called the Calendar Bear. Just thought you might want to take a look.

The ad

was in today's paper adverts. Love, MM
