Donna, Yup. She's worn herself out what with late nights at her folks, and

trying to

see everyone she loves before her flight on Friday. However, she is looking

forward

to getting back home. She is having some breathing problems, however, and

thinks

that the cleaner air in the mountains will help. Sorry I haven't been on,

but got word

last night that my stepmother, who has been visiting her son in Arizona, was

in a bad

house fire early yesterday morning. She was visiting an old friend in a

nearby town,

and somehow a fire started in the carport. The car exploded and the house

burned

like paper, fast and hot. Evidently, the fire crew found her and her friend

face down

on the carpet in the living room, trying to get out they think. Anyway, both

were not

burned, but have such bad damage to their lungs that it is touch and go

what's going

to happen. Since they are both in their eighties, who knows. So, asking for

prayers

from all who feel so inclined. Thanks for your love and support, honey.

Hope you are

doing better today, too. Hugs, MM

Thanks, Donna. We can use the prayers, sure enough. My stepbrother's wife

called

earlier this evening, and told me that Hazel is still holding her own. They

sent a tiny

camera down her lungs and showed them the pics. I guess her lungs are so

black and

crusty, they will have to suction out the sloughing off stuff several times a

day until

they clear. No prognosis, so far, though. She is very heavily sedated to

keep her

comfortable, and is not aware of visitors. Sure is tough on my stepbrother.

He is an

only child, but doesn't feel close enough to us girls to want us to come and

support

him in this. His mom was married to our dad until he passed on several years

ago, but

they were only together a few years. We kid each other about being " bro " and

" sis " ,

but I know he feels like an only child, still. We love her, too, though and

promised to

keep the prayer wires burning up.

Thanks again for all your loving support. Hugs, MM

Hi Mike,

I am so sorry to hear about your stepmother. I am glad she wasn't burned, but I know smoke inhalation is very serious. I have already added her to my prayer list. That list seems to get longer everyday. Please keep us posted on her condition. Are the two of you very close?

Well, I knew Normi would probably wear herself out. When you have to cram 2 years worth of visits into a week, something's has to give. After she gets home on Friday, hopefully she can just kick back and recover. I miss her emails. She adds a lot of flavor to this group, doesn't she?

Take care and keep us posted on your stepmom. Love, Donna

Donna, A SKUNK?!?!? Why? What did I miss? I had to delete a big bunch of

posts

tonight as I had no time to get online today and there were about 200 when I

finally

got a chance tonight. I am ok, but pooped out. It's time to do something

with the

concord grape pulp I took out to thaw a couple of days ago, so I made jam

today. I'm

tired out, it refused to jell solidly, so it will have to be labelled " spoon

jam " , but it

sure does taste wonderful. Just like fresh, warm grapes right off the vine.

Yummy.

And, it will work as syrup, too, so my family will love it.

The last I heard from Tucson, my stepbrother went over to the hospital there

today,

and the docs had put that camera thing down into her lungs again today. They

say

they see a slight improvement, removed some of the blackened tissue, and had

some

concern about the amount of inflammation under the tissue that is sloughing

off. He

will write as soon as there is more news. I don't know how her friend is.

He is much

older than she, and was not in as good health before the fire. However, the

amount

of blackening to his lungs was less, probably because he passed out sooner

than she

did. You tend to breathe more rapidly and deeply when you are exerting

yourself to

get away from something dangerous like a fire.

I'm going back to bed, here, pretty soon, though. Standing on my feet all

morning

to can that jam wore me out. More later, and thanks so much for all your

prayers.

Love, MM

Donna, Krispy Kremes, huh? Boy, you sure are living dangerously. LOL

Reesey wasn't

the one on phone restriction, he was on whole restriction, had to stay in his

room and

gaze upon his handiwork. Randy is the one who lost phone priviledges. HE

used the

words verbally that Reesey wrote on the wall. What a pair to draw to, huh?

LOL

Reesey is slowly paying me back for the primer I put on the wall, and he has

to live

with that awful smell from it which seems to linger in his room. I put Normi

in my

room when she was here because of the odor. It seems to take forever to

dissipate.

Randy was off phone restriction until last night when he started

disrespecting me

again. I think it will take a lot of " reminders " before he gets the message

that I won't tolerate the abusive language or attitude from him or anyone

else. Just because I'm ill is no reason to suppose that I will just lie here

and take it from them.

So, now they are getting a lesson in respectful behavior, and it is really

hurting their

macho images, let me tell you. I love it. LOL

Making pear butter today, and just finished two dozen jars of grape jam day

before

yesterday, so am tired. But, now I have some gifts to give at holiday time.

Got some

cheap, but sturdy baskets at Big Lots last week, and with tins of tea, some

homemade

scone mix, or bean soup mix, and jams, that should be an ok gift for each of

the family members, don't you think? Got two quilts half done for the boys.

I give each

of them a " mama's hug " for Christmas each year. One year it was warm robes,

another

jackets, and once it was quilts, but they have outgrown those little ones,

now. So,

it's time for new ones. The old ones make great TV blankies for laying on

the floor

and watching movies.

Gotta go stir the pear butter. More later. You take care today, and hope

you are doing

ok. Love, MM

Hi, Dory, Redwood City, huh? I've only been there once, and that was for my

old job.

I live about 50 miles north of San Francisco on HWY.101, in Santa . I

get into the

big city about twice a year, now, but used to live there, and for a while

when my son

was in hospital there, I went every weekend. I don't miss it a bit. Santa

has

grown so large, I almost don't like it here anymore, either. LOL

Where are you now? I must have missed that part of your introduction. Chalk

it up

to a Lupus Brain Fart. LOL Keep on writing and let that hubby spoil you a

bit while

you can. Lupus is a long, frustrating illness for everyone in the family.

Hugs, MM

Dorothy, I'm so glad you are taking Tyler in for exams and possible

treatment. Once

they settle on treatment, you should see a major shift in his behavior, and

the longer

he stays on the routine, the better it gets. Also, though, pay attention as

he ages,

because different stages in a child's development mean, sometimes, different

levels

of meds, too. Good luck, honey. Let me know how things go. Love, MM

Hi Mike

Boy, your boys sure do not want to seem to get the message that you will not tolerate them being disrespectful to you. It is a shame one gets off restriction, then does the same thing and gets right back on.

If I tell Tyler he is not going to be able to do something then his little mouth just starts running away.

I started him last Sunday on a church bus that comes right to the door and picks him up and drops him off about 3 hours later. It is a shame that I actually looked forward to those 3 hours of peace and quiet yesterday. NO one home but me-- went to church with 's kids and she went to work. He took the kids after church to the sitters and Tyler was pretty good in the afternoon.

If I tell him that he can't do something for cutting up or being disrespectful to me or his sister then all hell breaks loose. He went on a rampage Saturday morning while I was getting ready to go to the laundry mat and actually picked him up and held him like a baby in order for me to give him his medicine. I have an appointment Thursday AM with him and the intake man and then it goes to the pscy doctor. Hopefully he will be able to see him soon and the sooner the better.

Not much of anything else is going on

Hope you had a good weekend and are staying out of trouble. And I am also glad that you enjoyed the visit with Normi.

Take care

Dorothy, Never feel guilty for a three hour a week break, honey. I used to

deliberately take one day a month for me. One whole day... it was heaven.

If all I did

was sleep all day, that was ok with me. But, usually, I went to the park,

the library,

or out to a cheap breakfast with a friend and lots of adult conversation.

Set me up

for the rest of the month, and I didn't get half as frustrated with my kids.

I wish you and Tyler all the luck in the world with doctors and all. Hugs, MM

MikeI will keep you posted as to what is happening with Tyler. I sure can tell when that medicine is wearing off because he gets really nasty and all hell breaks out--He refused to take it the other day and had to hold him like a baby and me force it into his mouth--Thank God that it dissolves once it hits his tongue- and a sip of water. His teacher filled out the papers that they gave me and she said that he is frustrated and cries if she does not call on him for the answer and that the is not getting along with some of the other kids in his class-There is one boy that he really likes and we gave the little boy our phone number and he called here one day last week but we were not home yet and did not get his number--He likes Billie because he says Billie makes him laugh==Then there is Sage who he trades his snack with. I told him I don't care just as long as you get a snack from Sage-

Then Saturday I could have wrung 's neck --he wanted to take Tyler for a walk and told me he was going to the corner store and would not buy anything sweet for him--Well in the door comes Tyler and with a Spider-Man sports bottle with this drink in it that has 38 Grams of sugar and I kept my mouth shut and told him he could not drink all of it--I only let him drink a few sips at a time and then he has to put it in the refrigerator--The sweets seem to make him go off too==and he knows this--I told and she said that does not know better because he is always buying junk food and sweets and he sure does--I have never seen anything like it--he goes to the store and comes home with cake-ice cream-candy and soda--and that is his grocery shopping-- know I was go glad when Sunday Morning came because he got to ride the church bus and I got to have 3 hours to myself==which I really looked forward to because that is the only time that I get for ME now during the week, and that is a shame that I have to look forward to 9:20 AM on Sunday for peace and quiet.

Take care and thanks for all the support that you have given to me

I've had puter problems so I never got to write you back. How did your pear butter turn out? Yummy!!! And 2 dozen jars of grape jam??? Wow, do you have grapes growing in your area that you pick or do you just buy them at the store? I bet your grape jam tastes much better than store bought.

Then, you say you are working on 2 quilts for the boys! Now, I really feel inadequate!! LOL Making jam and quilts, and apple pies for Normi... I wish I had some of and Mike in my bones. I have NO creative abilities at all....unless you want to count the 7 children that the Good Lord helped us create!!! And I needed help with that one!! LOL

Well, I bet the quilts are beautiful and I know you're a good cook! Hope you are having a good a pain free day. Love, Donna

Re: Mike

Donna, Krispy Kremes, huh? Boy, you sure are living dangerously. LOL Reesey wasn'tthe one on phone restriction, he was on whole restriction, had to stay in his room andgaze upon his handiwork. Randy is the one who lost phone priviledges. HE used thewords verbally that Reesey wrote on the wall. What a pair to draw to, huh? LOLReesey is slowly paying me back for the primer I put on the wall, and he has to livewith that awful smell from it which seems to linger in his room. I put Normi in myroom when she was here because of the odor. It seems to take forever to dissipate.Randy was off phone restriction until last night when he started disrespecting meagain. I think it will take a lot of "reminders" before he gets the message that I won't tolerate the abusive language or attitude from him or anyone else. Just because I'm ill is no reason to suppose that I will just lie here and take it from them. So, now they are getting a lesson in respectful behavior, and it is really hurting theirmacho images, let me tell you. I love it. LOLMaking pear butter today, and just finished two dozen jars of grape jam day beforeyesterday, so am tired. But, now I have some gifts to give at holiday time. Got somecheap, but sturdy baskets at Big Lots last week, and with tins of tea, some homemadescone mix, or bean soup mix, and jams, that should be an ok gift for each of the family members, don't you think? Got two quilts half done for the boys. I give eachof them a "mama's hug" for Christmas each year. One year it was warm robes, anotherjackets, and once it was quilts, but they have outgrown those little ones, now. So,it's time for new ones. The old ones make great TV blankies for laying on the floorand watching movies.Gotta go stir the pear butter. More later. You take care today, and hope you are doingok. Hi, Donna, Now, don't get the wrong idea, here. I do a little sewing when I

can sit for

a while at the machine, and I do a little canning when I have to in order to

save the

fruits of summer, but do not work that hard every day. I'd be dead by now if

I tried to

do that. Some days, weeks, months, I do almost nothing but a load of laundry

here and

there, and supervise the boys with the housework. So, don't start getting

upset about

not doing this stuff yourself. I remember my mother saying she wasn't at all

creative

and didn't know where we kids got it. I remember, though, that she could

decorate a

house with no money, cook almost anything my father brought home and make it a

feast, and make old clothes into new ones you would never recognize as used.

Now,

THAT's what I call creative. With seven kids, I bet you have a lot of that

creativity

in your bones, too. Don't sell yourself short.

I don't know how I do what I do, either. People are always asking me, " How

do you do

that? How do you get all these ideas? " I haven't the foggiest. I seem to

" see " them in my mind, and then " make " them with my hands. However, my hands

don't cooperate

like they used to, so it gets more difficult and I get slower every day.

Used to be, I

could make an outfit in a day, paint a picture, do my eight hours at the

office and

still come home and cook for the kids and do the nightly routines. Those

days are

long gone. Even though I am at home most of the time, I spend a lot of time

resting,

and in between rests, I put a load of laundry in the washer, do up the dishes

from the

day before (never thought I'd leave a dirty dish in the sink, in my whole

life), rest some more, then cook dinner in spurts, then rest some more, then

fold the laundry,

maybe...and so on. Very boring. Very frustrating for someone who was an

over-achiever. LOL

I wanted to adopt twelve kids, but had to stop at four because I could no

longer pass

the physical requirements to adopt any more. I envy you your large family.

So, you

see, everyone wants something that someone else has. Aren't we funny? Love,

MM
