Brat, ME? Quiet? NAH! Just trying to get the fall pruning done,

Halloween decor

up, and taking care of 's case, and trying to keep my sister from

setting up a

surprise reconciliation between my daughter and me. She still doesn't get

it. I guess

she thinks I'll " get over it " with time. It's not MY problem, it's my

daughter's. Although, my sister did tell me that Karla kicked that bastard

out just a month after

the baby was born last spring. No one bothered to tell us that. My sons are

happy about that, anyway. But, I still can't take the risk that we would run

for my sons by

visiting with Karla and her kids. Especially, her daughter. I can't trust

Karla anymore. I mean, she betrayed my trust many times...most kids do,

especially in their

teens, but this went beyond the pale.

Glad you are trying to eat. H ope things stay down for you, now. Loving

hugs, MM

Hi, Donna, Thanks. Well, is ok for the moment, so I can breathe a

bit...the rest

are fine. I don't see or speak with my daughter, but from what I hear, she

is working

two jobs, trying to improve her living arrangement, and kicked that bum out

just a

month after the baby was born. So, it would seem she is moving ahead, again.

I am

feeling ok after my strange weekend episode. I don't normally vomit, it

almost takes

an act of Congress to make me do it. So...for it to happen like that is most

unusual.

Must have been something I ate, I guess. How are you holding up, honey?

Think about

you and the others who are having such a time right now...every day. Praying

and standing by, Love, MM

Brat, MY kids didn't even come outside to see what all the noise and yuck

was about.

They thought some drunk was throwing up on the sidewalk again. Shows you how

much our kids care, huh? Speaking of which...my ten year old got in trouble

last night

for ignoring seven calls to supper. Yup. Seven. Then when he got sent to

his room

with just a banana and a lecture about respecting other people's efforts, he

was so

mad, he graffiti'd all over his wall with permanent marker, bad words, and

epithets

about me. Now he's all upset because I told him this morning when I saw the

wall that I was ashamed of him; that It hurt my feelings a lot, and I would

not go into that

room until it was primed and painted out. He was told he would have to get

some

after school leaf raking jobs this week to buy the paint and stuff. BOY!

You should

have seen the ruckus that announcement caused. He was still mumbling about

being

ill used on his way out the door to school. BIG attitude problem there. I

think he

is starting into the prepubescent angst earlier than Randy did. Heaven help

me!

(He already is starting to " smell " on occasion, so the process is starting.

My baby

is growing up, and being a shit about it, to boot.)

How is your tummy now? Better, I hope. Deanna sounds a little better,

doesn't she?

At least, she is posting part time, and that is hopeful. Take care, Love, MM

MM,

The fun begins! When my daughter first began the stage of being a little shit (and yes they all are that at times) I let it be known very quickly that she would be respectful. I told her she was allowe to think anything she wanted about me but it had better never be said where I could hear it! I think you handled your little episode quite appropriately. Too many parents don't make kids responsible for their actions. I bet in the future, he will think twice about defacing property because he's mad! Good for you! Hang in there. It's not easy but later they usually thank you for it. Boy, it does make me glad those years are behind me, though!

Hi, Brat. Well, my kids come from a very confused background, and where we

live, are

exposed daily to other kids who act out a lot. We live very close to a high

school and

local college, and the kids who pass our house every day use the " F " , " S " ,

and " B " words as part of normal conversation. I hate it, but short of

banning them from the

neighborhood, there isn't much I can do about them. What I can and will do

is to tell

my kids that such behaviors and language will not be tolerated in my house or

on my

property, unless it is behind closed doors, in their own rooms where I don't

have to

listen to it.

Unfortunately, one of the major symptoms of ADHD is a lack of impulse

control. With

the aid of teachers and doctors, and light doses of medication, I am

teaching my boys

to refocus their impulses to inanimate objects...therefore, writing on walls

is much

better than socking another child, or breaking windows, or whatever more

violent

action they may want to take. As we work out way down from very violent

reactions

to semiviolent reactions, each acting out behavior goes by the wayside and

another

hopefully milder form takes its place. At least, with these two, we know it

will

eventually work, there are more good days than bad, and they are both coming

from a

great desire to improve. My eldest son is too insane to care about what he

does to

others as long as his impulses are not thwarted. Randy and Reesey are so

much easier

to deal with that I tend to be more forgiving and lenient with them than I

should. LOL

I have learned, however, not to give more than two chances. In case I wasn't

heard

the first time I say something, I will repeat it one time. After that, they

have to

take the consequences of their actions, or inaction. LOL

Well, didn't mean to write a volume. How are you feeling today? And, what's

with the whining about the pizza talk? Hmmmm? You know you want some.

Hey, Brat, that was a long time ago. I'm much better now, I think...hmmm.

Maybe I

better rethink this? What was I talking about again? I had to meet with all

the

official officials for 's case this morning, and I had two major brain

farts

while I was talking to them. Geez...how embarrassing. Maybe Normi can keep

track. Love, MM

Well, Brat, I don't know when we'll be together. Normi hasn't called to let

she made it to her folks' place, yet. So, I'm not sure when I'll be seeing

her. Also, I

thought I was supposed to drive over and get her, but haven't heard when she

Donna, Well, Child Protective Services has divorced themselves from the case

since

is not a dependent of the court. I was never clear on why they were

involved in

the first place since their sole purpose seemed to be to sacrifice the

interests of my

child in favor of those in the Children's Home. Very mixed feelings about

all this.

The Mental Health rep. and the case manager from Bridges were there, and have

agreed

to make every effort to get into the child to adult transitional

program in Oakland, CA with which Bridges is affiliated. That would be a

program that would

keep him until age 19, AAP will fund him for it, and it would be far enough

away from

us that I wouldn't have to worry too much about him showing up on the

doorstep if

he runs away from the facility there. Keep your fingers crossed that this

works out.

It would be the answer for at least 18 months, and maybe, with independent

living

skills training and better supervision he would be able to function in a

halfway house

type facility. So, that's where that is.

On the daughter/grandaughter issues...she kicked the bastard out about a

month after

the new baby was born, and baby is about 5 months old, now. I still have

only seen

pictures of him. My younger sister seems to think that with his nibs out of

the picture, I should be able to start seeing Karla and her kids again. I

keep trying to get

it across to my sister that by not telling the truth to the authorities about

what was

really going on in her home, my daughter's inaction and sins of omission have

made

a permanent hole in our family that no amount of chagrin or remorse after the

fact

can rectify. Sis is still trying to manipulate me into a reconciliation

which I cannot

allow because it puts my other children at risk of more false accusations.

It's just

a no win situation, that I can't fix, and sis won't let me alone about. And,

then, sis

has the gall to tell ME not to put HER in the middle! WHO put her in the

middle? Not

me. All I did was inform my family of what was happening so they would not

have

to put themselves at risk unknowingly of being accused in a similar manner of

inappropriate behavior with my grandaughter. Now, the annual events which

the

family has always celebrated together are threatened because sis insists on

including my daughter and her family, and I cannot be present nor can my

boys. So, I

don't know what will happen for the holidays, and sis is still agitating for

me to

come to the annual mother daughter shop 'til you drop day, which, if Karla is

there,

I can't do. It's just horrible, and breaks my heart, but I can't weaken.

Karla cannot

be trusted to do the right thing, and until she DOES face the truth and set

the record

straight, we cannot have any direct contact. I do write, and send gifts at

holidays

and birthdays. Something I still want and need to do. I just can't SEE them

in person.

So, I now have very bad, angry red sun patches on my forearms, legs, and a

few on my

face in spite of sleeves, sunscreen, and all that. Have severe headaches,

fatigue,

pain, IBS symptoms, and all of it is more or less stress driven with the

Lupus as the

catalyst. But, you know all about that junk, right. That's life in the

Lupus Lane.

So, dearie, that's where things are. I haven't heard from Normi as to when

she got to

her folks' place, or even IF she got there. She is supposed to call me and

let me know

if I'm to go over and get her next weekend, or if they are bringing her over

here. I'll

let everyone know when she gets to my place, as I think you deserve fair

warning. LOL Loving hugs, MM
