I wanted to make sure that it will not happen during my 2nd surgery on Aug. 31st. May I ask why you have decided not to have another surgery? >> Rita, I'm going to see my new doctor on monday. I will ask him what he thinks caused the scarring from my first HSG and pass on the information to you. I think it was the cauterization part of the procedure but that is just a guess. If I had to do it again, I would have asked the doctor how many of these proceedures she had done in the past. Of course you want to be in the hands of a surgeon who's experienced but, then again, scarring is one of the " risks " I was warned about. The reason I decided not to have a second proceedure was only based on the particular circumstances of my life now, and in the next few months. My fiance (soon to be husband on Sept 16th!) and I are moving to the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. My insurance here in the U.S. will expire before I have had a chance to heal from another proceedure. By then we'll be living in Mexico and I have no idea what I'm in for. I wanted to get pregnant under the care of my doctor. (perhaps you remember me referring to him as Dr. Gloom but I've totally changed my mind about him. He might be gloomy but he's honost and very capable) So, I took my chances. The scarring is on 1/4 of my uterus, right down the center. I just found out today that I am definitely pregnant! So now I'm trying to keep calm about it (I've known in my heart I got pregnant) and I'm praying that it has emplanted someplace where there's a good blood flow. So, anyway, I think it's great you're going to have another proceedure. If I had the time, I probably would have done it again. Then again, I'm 38 years old. Waiting to TTC for three months seems like an eternity. My fiance is a very by-the-book kind of guy. (He's Dutch) And if the doctor say's not to TTC for three months, then he'll go sleep on the couch and make me wear a chastity belt for the required amount of time!!!! I understand your situation and wish you the best of luck for starting a new life in Mexico. I have asked my doctor about his experience with the septum removal and he has done it several times with other patients. The septum removal is probably not too common these days. However, I am confident that he will do a good job like he did with the first surgery last June. Four more days till my 2nd septoplasty. One and half month to go before I start ttc!
