Guest guest
Hi All ... back when I was on a site for breast cancer, they talked about Bison. The place they referred me to is: Northstar Bison Phone: 715 234 1496 1936 28th Ave Fax : 715 234 9085 Rice Lake, WI 54868 Website: www.northstarbison.com They say, "largest distributors of 100% grassfed bison mead in the Midwest." It is a little expensive. They'll ship it frozen to your door. I ordered it for awhile. I was a little expensive. I liked it. I'll probably check into again. LCL in polis, MD -------------- Original message -------------- From: Rogene S <saxony01@...> Kenda, If you were served ground Bison, it's unlikely you'd know there was any difference. I saw some Bison "steak" . . . but I hesitated to buy that because it's so lean, and being grass fed, it's likely to be pretty tough. . . When I was a kid, we ate grass fed, free range beef (Dad ranched for a while). . . Compared with the beef we eat now, it was really tough. . . The only way to get us kids to eat it was to grind it up into hamburger. I think the flavor is a little stronger because of the different balance of fat to lean. . . The ground meat is very good. One local resturant offers Bison, in place of Beef hamburgers, for a $2.00 premium. Rogene
Guest guest
Lynn, I was telling my mom about your story with the hormone injections etc... She went through a very similar ordeal to you and she told me that those injections were just awful and made her feel horrible!! She said they were worse than the multiple surgeries she had for her endometriosis. I suspect that they are really doing a number on your body right now. The good news is that she recovered from all of it and now she feels great! I hope that you feel better soon:) Your explant is coming up so soon! The weeks will pass quickly and very soon you will be posting about how well your surgery went and how you feel relieved and better each day!!! Guest guest
- Sorry to hear that you are hurting and your fibro is acting up. From what I have read here since last summer, it seems that many women experience a flare up of symptoms 2 weeks after explant. I'm sure this is a combination of biotoxins, recovering from surgery, the painkillers, the anesthetic, etc etc... I hope it will pass for you quickly and you will be back on the road to feeling great!! Hugs! Katy:) <waltjenking@...> wrote: Lynn, I honestly am not sure how to answer this but I will try. I developed Fibromyalgia and many other things which some may have been due to many tramatic events in my life, but I also think the implants either caused it or made it worse, hindering me from getting better. I had my implants removed over two weeks ago and my Fibro is back full force...I too am feeling horribly am going through crying moments because I had really hope that the debilitating muscle pain and burning would go away. I feel, deep in my heart, that my implants were going to be the death of me...that they were making my symptoms worse. I have to believe that I have biotoxins that have been stirred up and it will take time for me to get better. Look how long it took for us to be sick...there is a lot of reversing that needs to be done. You've seen all of the stuff on implants and I know that you know they have to come out. You are being explanted soon and it's very important for you to try to stay positive while you are heading toward this. It's okay to break down, but just remind yourself that you are taking the first step necessary and the rest will follow. Concentrate on explant...you are going to an awesome doctor...I am so glad I went to Huang. We are all here for you....just know that you can get better, but that unfortunately it won't be overnight like we all wish. You will get there...as we all will. Guest guest
Dear Lynn, Please don't let your imagination go wild thinking of all the terrible things that could be wrong. It is so frustrating being sick and feeling rotten ALL THE TIME!! I really relate... I'm sure everyone here has felt this way at one time or another... I was so frustrated this week with this chest infection not going away, feeling horrible and achey, missing so much work, worrying about my implants and how I would manage to find a Dr. and get the money to get them out, worrying about the lump in my breast...I just broke down and cried repeatedly. I fought with my boyfriend because he didn't know how to comfort me... We all have these moments... But there is HOPE! You are doing the right things... You are on the right track and you WILL find the key to regaining your health!! Please be as determined as you can about this!! We are here to help each other when we need a little boost. Guest guest
Hi and Lynn, Keep the faith, because for most of us it takes time before we're feeling better. My symptoms were really bad for a few months after explant and then gradually they improved. Sis > Hi all, > > Just having a really bad day. Guest guest
Dear Lynn ( & and Katy), Lynn, I can so relate to your sadness and feeling of despair about your health. I remember how I felt when I got sick from my implants, and it was a horrible feeling. I felt so lost. I just want you to know that even though things seem so bleak and that physically you are at your lowest point, you can have hope for your future because you have options. You know that you need to get your implants out, and you are working toward that point. That will be huge. Once those toxic bombs are removed, then you can work on the healing that needs to be done. And there are many things you can do to begin healing. It will be a process for sure, but you can get better! YOu can have hope because so many of us have been where you are now, and we have a life again...and not only our life back, but for alot of us, it's life BETTER. I believe that my experience made me a much better person..... we have to find the silver lining. We have to grow from this experience. I believe you can get better, that you can have a baby someday (We have had members have babies after explant and healing!) and that you will be stronger for what you have experienced. It's not an easy road, but you will learn so much as you travel this path of renewal. We're here for you! We may not always have all the answers, or all the right answers, but we have had enough experience in recovery and seeing others recover that I think we can say we know we are headed in the right direction. You can grab this bull by the horns and tame it, and make your life wonderful again. Have faith! God bless, Patty > Hi all, > > Just having a really bad day. Guest guest
Rogene, I may have to give it a try. I remember the first time I ate ground turkey a few years ago, it gave me the creeps because it looked kind of like hamburger but didn't taste like it. I eat it often now. I like nearly all fruits and vegetables but I have a hard time with meats I never ate as a child. I still won't touch lamb! Guest guest
Kenda, I grew up on a farm, and we ate lamb, pork, woodchuck, venison, beef, chicken, rabbit, trout, and more. Pheasant, turkey, anything we could get. We did not get any seafood, as trout was the only fish around. Lamb is pretty good served with mint jelly. Not my favorite, but Bob likes it, so I cook it sometimes. I use ground chicken and turkey, and I mix them with spices to season them. A lot more healthy than some meats. I think you just have to know how to season a lot of these things to enjoy them. Lemon pepper really zips up ground turkey and chicken. Garlic pepper, Salt free 17, lots of good spices out there. Guest guest
Isnt it odd how pre-conceived thoughts and ideas and judgements can put a wall between you and something wonderful? It is sort of like ...guilty until proven innocent. Living life confined like that, you miss out on many great things, and even, people. Living life where anything at all is possible, and with eyes wide open, you can enjoy the true beauty of a much bigger and fuller life with no limitations on options, and oppertunity. I have to say, God has carried me over many hurdles, leaving no question at all he exists, even to some friends that were not sure of his existance, til they saw me and my many miracles in life. I am truly blessed.........and I am thankful. God bless everyone ~ DSee what's free at AOL.com.
Guest guest
Interesting Kenda . .. I read an article about how children inately tend to avoid new foods. . The writer hypothized that this was natures way of protecting children from eating the wrong things. . . He said that children usually have to be offered a food several times before accepting it . . . The parents example plays a big role too. My hubby has alot of food phobias without ever having tried them . . . The "idea" is enough to deter him from a lot of good foods. He was chomping down on calamari one time, really enjoying himself . . Then he thought to ask what he was eating . . . When he learned it was squid, he quickly decided he didn't like it. Guest guest
Chili seasoning is great in turkey meatloaf. Onion soup mix (if you can get the real thing, not artificial stuff) is good. I always loved sage hens. Nice flavor. I am not a big lover of some seafood, and cannot eat shellfish. I seem to have a problem even with too much salmon. I cannot take iodine. I cannot have kelp or vitamins with iodine. I wonder about doing the iodine on the skin. I could not do an iodine douche when I had an infection. I almost died from the iodine in an IV years ago. Fish is great if you cover with lemon juice or lime juice, then sprinkle well with dill and garlic pepper. Sounds good, I think I will have that for dinner. Guest guest
Hi Lynn, I spoke to my mom today and found out that she had those hormone injections (forget what they are called now) twice, each time before a surgery to remove the lining of her uterus. She said that the injections were the worst part and made her feel completely "out of whack" physically and emotionally. She said that she felt them to be out of her system and she felt mostly back to normal after a few months each time. She has always been a health nut. She said that her vitamins and supplements helped her, as well as excercise. Have you tried any hormone supplements such as Black Cohosh? She swears by it! I suspect that the other things going on with your body and the implants may add to your stress, but hopefully you will notice a big improvement as soon as your body can get the hormones balanced again!! Guest guest
Dear Lynn, Its a shame that financial woes and surgery costs add to our stress when we are sick, but you cannot put a price on health. Where there's a will, there's a way and I will find one!! Amazing how you can come up with $10,000 when you need to!! Finding the money to do my explant is teaching me that anything is possible and after this is paid off I plan to start working towards buying an apartment or condo... before I thought that was an impossible idea:) Katy:)spinkscl <spinkscl@...> wrote: Katy,You have such a positive energy. Especially with how sick you have been. I am so sorry to hear you have come down with a bug. I try to stay away from anybody who is sick at work because I know if I get sick it will only multiply my anxiety.I am trying my hardest to stay positive here. I know my surgery is in sight (only 12 days away). Right now God, this board and my sugery are my saving grace.I can relate to stress of coming up with the money for surgery. We spliting it out of three credit cards. Two w/ no interest until December 07. It was the best we could do. You take care of yourself and I hope you feel better soon. I pray that you find a doctor who will agree to do the explant w/ en bloc. Hugs,Lynn> Hi all,> > Just having a really bad day. Guest guest
Lynn, Oh no, well maybe after everything its just good to let the body return to homeostasis on its own. I bet the explant will help! The extra toxic load certainly doesn't help does it?!! What the heck is up with that! I think we all deserve a free pass from sickness...especially in the cold winter! Guest guest
I just asked for my medical records and apparently the capsules were stuck to my ribs and couldn't be removed. Now it all makes sense. Our governments did this do us by approving them as safe. We should all go to FDA headquarters on Breast Implant Survivor day and sit infront of the front entrance to remind them we exist. > > > > > > I hope chimes in here....she told me her ideas... > > and they are good ones, but she will have to explain them..... > > > > > > > > When the power of love > > overcomes the love of power > > the world will know peace. > > ~ Jimi Hendrix > > > > > > > > BI education pt 2 > > > >   > > Silicone gel filled breast implants and connective...[J Rheumatol. 1994] - > >PubMed Result > > > > http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8182631 > > J Rheumatol. 1994 Feb;21(2):239-45.Links > > > > Comment in: J Rheumatol. 1994 Oct;21(10):1979-80. > > > > Silicone gel filled breast implants and connective tissue disease: an > overview. > > > > Spiera RFSpiera RF, Gibofsky A, Spiera H. > > Hospital for Special Surgery, > > Cornell University Medical College, New York, NY 10021. > > OBJECTIVE. > > To review the literature examining the association of silicone gel filled > >implants and connective tissue disease. > > METHODS.
