Dede, I totally understand your outrage about this. I feel like there must be something that we can do to help prevent this kind of treatment. It makes me just infuriated that those of us who do not have the money and power at our disposal should be subjected to unethical conduct. Katy:)DGRAHAMA@... wrote: Geeze, my first and last visit with the pulmonary specialist was just

I would say that he purposely gave me a drug that could potentially kill me. This is suposed to be against the law..............Ok, I am obsessing, it has to stop......sorry......... where should I start? Write the doctor or the medical society first? Funny, even my oncologist recognized that mold

spores can stay in the air and home 4-5 years

after you clean out a mold problem. He is the

one who prescribed the anti-fungals for me

because of the fact that I had a bathtub with a

lot of water damage underneath and had to take

the whole floor out and clean out everything and

replace the floor as well as the bathtub and

plumbing. It has been 4-5 years now and the mold

seems to be almost gone, I am not finding it anymore anyplace in the house.

So, if my oncologist recognizes, how come these other doctors do not.

Oh Katy,

How horrible . . . Does the guy not understand how to use the telephone to get hold of you before doing anything?

Is there any kind of network to check these vets out? . . . He sounds like a scam to me!

Did you think your cat was dehydrated too? . . . Is it possible he just had some time on his hands and needed to practice his surgery skills?

Something's wrong with this picture!

Do we need to carry hidden microphones or cameras with us?

I know someone who is getting ripped off by a mechanic . . . First, they could pay out the repairs . .. as soon as the car was dissassembled, they wanted cash to continue working . . . Then they claim it's done . .. but won't demonstrate that car is running . . . nor will they let another mechanic touch thecare . . .They say that, if the customer tries to start the engine and it locks up, it's not their fault! . . . It's on the customer! . . . One of the mechanics said that the engine will turn only part way in each direction.

Where's Judge Judy when you need her?

Thanks Dede, I feel pretty much like a chump right now because I know I was really swindled. Mostly I feel horrible guilt that I put my defenseless cat through this! Its awful to feel like a fool for trusting a healthcare professional. I spoke to my mother (who is a legal assistant) and she spoke to the lawyers she works with about this and they suggested that I could take this to small claims court but that it would cost me more $. At this point I don't know if I have the energy for that. My own health has been so crappy for the past few months and I am financially drained. I used a good chunk of my explant money to pay the vet today. I hope that something good comes of this.. Sorry to be negative, just feeling a little beaten down. Your kind words really are a comfort though, thank you! Katy:)DGRAHAMA@... wrote: Katy ~ God Bless you and God Bless your kitty ! You were tricked into unnecessary surgery and fees. Lynne,

The only urine test I know of for cortisol is a 24 hour urine and it

doesn't sound like he did that. The saliva test taken 4 times a day

is the best test for cortisol and adrenal function. They should

also do a DHEA test when they do cortisol. I really like the test

from DiagnosTechs...since it tests for these things along with

thyroid and some sex hormones...further testing the adrenal cortex

and medulla functions.

I know you may not have time to do this now....but perhaps after

surgery. Although, I would wait until you have totally gotten over

your surgery.

Part of adrenal dysfunction is joint pain.....I used to have

horrible pain in my feet when I walked and when I got up in the

morning.

I think our women spend a lot of time and

resources on testing instead of trying to be healthy the natural way.

All this testing is not often necessary. Just

getting the implants out, doing the diet and

getting rid of the yeast will overcome most of these problems.

I did a lot of testing, but the only things that

helped me were the diet, the attitude and the

supplements. I did finally have to take thyroid

medication. I wish I had a doctor back then working with Armour thyroid.

I think we get far too carried away and paranoid

and don't do the logical and easy things to get

better. I cannot say this strongly enough,

allopathic medicine made us ill, why do we think

it will make us

better???????????????????????????????????? I

sincerely think it will not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There must be a veterinary society one can file a complaint with. I

would negotiate with this office and try to bring down the

bill. Since they were mistaken, they should adjust it. Get a copy

of the film to be sure it was even your animal that was x-rayed.

I have decide there are no doctors that treat us like they would

treat themselves or their families. They should treat us " like a

project " ....nuturing us until completion or wellness.

I no longer know which way to go..Naturapath or Traditional. I have

become sicker in the three years I was seeing my holistic doctor. I

brought her the implant related information. I am the one that

found my adrenal fatigue and insisted she treat my thyroid.

And today????? I called her because I thought I was working on a

sinus infection. Now..mind you, I live an hour from her office and

going to her takes me most of the day because I have to wait so long

to see her. Know what she told me? " I should go to an urgent care

facility to get antibiotics " . She wouldn't even call the " blankty

blank " thing in for me. Not after the thousands I have spent with

her. HSo, I made an appointment locally. Went in. Got my

antibiotics and now am afraid to take them.

Know what else?. The day I wanted to fax " my doctor " /my primary

care phsyician " my cortisol results, Know what her nurse said to

me? She said " We don't get paid unless you come in " .!!How

disgusting!

So this doctor...whom I have relied on to get me to a point of

wellness....and who is holistically trained...is no better than the

rest of them.

And this is the same doctor who...three years ago..put me on a

megadose of Zoloft. Within a few months, I weaned myself off that

poison stuff. Not so sure that didn't cause some of my issues now. !

Thank you wonderful ladies for letting me vent!

,

I would change that doctor immediately.

I have to tell you about my oncologist.

My son was on an indigent program because

worker's compensation was playing games with him

and cut off his income. I was paying his rent, even.

When he had this cancer scare and was treated so

poorly here at the hospital, he could not find a

doctor who would do an endoscopy or follow up to

find out what was wrong with him.

I called my oncologist, who was in Boulder, out

of the area that his plan would even pay

anything, and he agreed to see him. He was not

worried about getting paid. He had him tested

and got everything rolling, got a barium swallow

done and tried to get him in to a

gastroenterologist. If I ever needed an

oncologist again, I would head straight back to

this doctor. He is a wonderful person who really

cares about the patients. The gastro doc would

not see him because of his insurance. So he

finally found one that would, and they still

missed the problem, but he was treated well by

this second doctor. When his throat finally

swelled closed and they had to hospitalize him, a

doctor is now taking it very seriously. Of

course, he has won his SSD now and has

Medicare. But I think with the emergency they

would have been very good to treat him. He

literally could have died within the next 12 hours.

I believe we need the doctors, but I think we

need to be VERY careful about the drugs we put

into our bodies. Every one of them has toxic

side effects. And we are already toxic.

I appreciate the doctors who treat us well. I

find many do not. I am sure my GP is very

skeptical about silicone problems. My oncologist

is not. I am educating my OB/Gyn. We should all

try to educate the doctors we find are open and

willing to learn. They may, in turn, begin to educate others.

I mostly rely on alternative practitioners for

help with my symptoms. I trust them. They believe.

Thank you Lynda,

I am at a point where some of my faith in those that are supose to

help us....is at an all time low.

I think I was just so disappointed in her and her staff...for

treating me only if I came in and paid $$$,

It is not as if I had not been to her the week before...etc.

Of course...this is the same docotr that would not treat my

thyroid....when I had an ultra sound that showed " mild goiter " and

low levels of all hormones.

I know I need to change...just don't know who to go to now.

I have lost some faith in her.

Thank you for letting me rant and rave......

I am not going to take that antibiotic just yet. I tried some

saline with just a touch of hydrogen peroxide last night.

My thryoid and adrenal issues may be making me feel..tired and

sinusy. Haven't got the dosing down yet.

I am glad your son had you with your contact with this doctor as it

saved his life!!!

Thanks Ladies for your support.. I know this vet issue isn't exactly implant related, but I really appreciate your support! I am going to look into a veterinary society I can report this with; thanks Lynda! I have only paid the 50% deposit so far, so I am going to bring some back up with me tommorrow (my legal savvy mom!) when I go pick my kitty up and at least urge the vet to remove the error in treatment from my bill. I also plan to bring all of the diagnostic records to another clinic for a second opinion. I called the other clinic and they said that it all sounded 'very strange'.. Yes, my oncologist is a wonderful guy. I have sent friends to him.

I do think you need to change doctors.

The Mayo clinic says 86% of sinus problems have a

fungal component. Antibiotics may make it worse.

Ask your health food stores about natural doctors.

Dear Rogene, You know, that is exactly what today reminded me of, THE MECHANIC !!! It seems as though we must gain knowledge about everything to avoid being scammed. The thing was that my gut feeling was telling me just to take my cat home, but I was so worried about her, and it all happened too quickly. I am not going to take this lying down! I think she was sick, but I KNOW she didn't need that surgery (which made up the majority of the bill). When he called me after the surgery to tell me he found nothing inside her, he offered to cover the cost of the first X-ray (the one that showed the foreign object). I am suspicous that the X-ray wasn't even my cat! He then told me that he was going to now give her some B vitamins, 2 types of antibiotics and medicine for her gallbladder??!! I said NO, STOP! I could just here the $$$$$ racking up

and it felt awful to not be able to see what he is really doing for her. All of this without even having a simple explanation of why she is ill... Exactly like the mechanic!! Katy:)Rogene S <saxony01@...> wrote: Oh Katy, How horrible . . . Does the guy not understand how to use the telephone to get hold of you before doing anything? Is it possible he just had some time on his hands and needed to practice his surgery skills? Something's wrong with this picture! Do we need to carry hidden microphones or cameras with us? I know someone who is getting ripped off by a mechanic . . . First, they could pay out the repairs . .. as soon as the car was dissassembled, they wanted cash to continue working . . . Dear Lynda, I have yet to try any prescription antifungals, but have tried anti candida type things from the health food store. My diet is pretty good, although could be better... I eat lots of fresh veggies, some fruit, very little wheat, mostly vegetarian with a little chicken or fish, very little soy, as much organic as I can... I think I stilll eat too many starches and indulge in dark chocolate too regularily, but I don't put sugar in anything I eat or drink.. Also, the house I am living in is old and there is alot of black mold growing in the bathroom and laundry room. I have been sick pretty much the whole 4 months I have lived here. Thankfully we are moving at the end of April. How would I go about getting antifungals from my Dr? What should I ask her for? Katy:)Lynda <coss@...> wrote: Katy,Anti-fungals may be what you need. Not Lynda, but here is my experience. I tried to get two drs to

prescribe diflucan after reading dr kolbs website, they said I was

out of my mind, so I went to dr Kolb! She gave it to me, knocked a

lot of it out within about three weeks. I am now on sporanox which

seems to do nothing. Best bet is probably a holistic dr? Lynda

would know. Love Nan

Katy, honey, I am so sorry about the abuse of you and your little cat. This breaks my heart. How dare this veterinarian charge you all that money just to cause you more pain. You have enough health problems with out this so-called vet hurting your little pet. I wish that you could go back and pick up your cat and tell the vet where to go, but I guess he must be on IV until tomorrow.

We will be thinking about you and sending you lots of love......Lea

Re: Re: Went to doctor...

HI Ladies,

I had a really bad experience today too with a doctor... although it was a veterinarian.

My cat was listless and weak and seemed to be very sick, so I took her into a vet near my house this morning. I was worried it could've had something to do with the recent contaminated food/kidney failure.

I had not been to this vet before, since I just moved to Toronto a few months ago. I rushed her in and they did blood work, an exam, urinalysis and an x-ray. Every test came back normal except the x-ray, which showed something foreign in her stomach. The vet talked me into putting her on IV overnight because she was dehydrated. I wanted to wait to see if she would pass the object, but he told me it might get lodged and urged me to consider surgery. I asked him to do a endoscopy first and see if it could be removed that way before he went in and opened her up. The endoscopy was going to cost $225..

After I left he called me to tell me that upon further examination of the x-rays he thought the endoscopy would be a waste of time, so he proceeded with surgery.

After the surgery he called me to tell me that he found NOTHING and that the surgery was exploratory. I DID NOT WANT her to have surgery that wasn't completely neccessary in the first place!

There is still no diagnosis for my cat and the bill so far is $2100!!!!!!!!!

I feel like I have been ripped off and violated. I now have to wait until tomorrow afternoon to pick up my cat and then I can take her for a 2nd opinon on Fri.

So basically, I have put my poor sick cat through hell, I am over $2000 in the hole and have no diagnosis to speak of!! She has now had major surgery and is STILL sick!!

This reminds me alot of my own experience with these implants...

I think its awful that we trust these Dr.s to take care of us and those we love and they can take advantage of us for money.

Thanks for listening. I have been so distraught all day about this, it is literally making me feel sick inside.

$600!! How long was the visit? It seems to me they overcharge insured's on Medicare due to the fact Medicare only pays at a certain rate. It just isn't fair DeDe!! I would contact that facility to voice my concerns... I don't know what good it would do but it is worth a try. I was referred to a gastroenterologist a few years ago due to my bowel issues. He walked in to the room, I told him the issues I was having - he said that I should consult a surgeon and walked out. He did not exam me in any way, shape or form!!! I don't even think he shook my hand. So I waited for who knows how long to see him (weeks on top of the time I sat in the waiting room) and he was finished with me in about 3 minutes flat, and charged about $90. I am angry for you. This needs to stop. The doctors, pharmaceutical companies and the FDA seem to be getting to get together to keep us sick. This is so discouraging. I am so sorry Katy. I know you have been trying to save money for

explant and this didn't help. I would have done the same thing for

my animals too, they are like my kids. I do feel like you were also

charged an excessive amount though.

I sure hope your cat is feeling better but especially that you feel

better.

Darling Dede and all of the rest of our Angels:

took me for a drive in the country, and we have just come in. My heart is very sad to see how many of you have been abused. There are so many emails that I want to answer tonight; however, I promise to catch up in the morning.

To each and everyone of you....I send my love....Lea

Re: Re: Went to doctor...

I am not sure how long the visit was. He also went on and on about stachybotrys and homeowners insurance and attorneys and about how stachybotrys dosent cause any known human illness and it too was a ploy for money. Then he gave me that drug that you dont give someone with heart disease, I did not even have any wheeze or cold or anything. My pulmonary function test even said there was no emphysema, that drug was a long term bronchodialator which would spin a heart out of control that has V-Tach, and I do. I was sent there to be checked for sarcoidosis. My chest xray I took with me, and it was clear, my ct was clear and my lungs were clear, I already knew that. I didnt need a lecture about implants and their safety and how silicone is inert, and I certainly am not gonna pay for a lecture on fake boobs, and their safety ! ! , nor pay for a drug that could kill me. He was totally inappropriate. He didnt discuss me at all. He must own stock in the company that makes spiriva. My father was blown away by that docs behavior, as he was with me.

Sick, sick, sick........He owes me for my time.

Hugs ~ D

I agree, he does owe you. I would write him a letter to at least

voice my concerns regarding the drug he gave you!! Then I would

complain about the service and ask for a write-off of whatever

Medicare would not pay. You have every reason to complain. I am so

sorry that we all have to deal with these damn doctors. I really

wish I could find somebody who gave a darn about my health.

I was just thinking earlier... if I were the doctor's wife, daughter,

sister or mother - I'd bet you money that they would try to get down

to the bottom of my auto-immune issues!! Instead they tell me to

take aspirin and come back in 6 weeks for more labs to see if I have

hypothyroidism YET!

On a positive note, I am sure there are good doctors out there - like

Dr. Huang and Dr. Kolb (and others).
