I agree, this is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, they are

violating everything from the info on the drug they are giving her to

the AEA guidelines to the Hypocratical oath. I've never heard of such a

thing. Imagine if they did this to a diabetic " Your blood sugar is

normal, let's get you off insulin "

I always read that Centrum doesn't have good absorption, and once I did

the test where you leave a Centrum in water together with a health store

multi (it was Universal Naturals on my test) and in 2h the UN was

totally dissolved and the Centrum was barely touched. I stopped taking

Centrum - the health food ones are cheaper anyways, so that is a second

reason.

So I'd look for another doctor - stick with him now if you need a prescription, but start looking. Jan,

There is a big practice not far from here that has endocrinologists, rheumatologists, internal medicine, etc. I am going to check into that one. I'm just not sure which one I should see first (sigh).

It wasn't this doctor who did that, but several of them have so far. When the level has been normal for awhile they don't think I need the synthroid anymore, hashi's or no.

I never knew what hashi's really was, and had read articles saying that many doctors do this, that they treat the hypo when it's hypo, and don't treat at all when the levels are normal. It's only now that I'm learning about this stuff. The most recent doctor is a DO. I am going to get my results as well as my medical records for the new doctor. When I get the blood test results I will post them here. No, I don't know anything about levels.

No, I'm saying they tested, the tests they said were normal, and they took me off the meds. Am I the villain here for not knowing?

the reason we are all shocked is because it is our understanding that at some point your numbers were off, correct? Then you are put on meds to make the numbers normal. Then, you should stay on the meds to keep them normal, not be taken off until you are sick again and then the whole thing starts over again. The damage to the body with this up and down is criminal!

Apparently they were not up on the current research.

reccomended stopping meds when someone becomes in range. I may need more

coffee.

No one said that. It merely says that some doctors believe that is the correct thing to do, but current research has shown that it isn't correct.

Toni, they are saying that prior to any meds or abnormal test results, some DR's say if you are in the holy TSH normal range, you shouldn't start meds. Once you do start taking them, if is criminal to start and stop. That is abuse in my opinion, plain and simple.The fact that you have found several DR's that do that is amazing!

The best parallel would be like a diabetic. They give them insulin till they blood sugar level is normal, then they take them off and wait till they are heading to a coma, then remedicate!
