Hurrah!! I skipped my cytomel today to see how my tummy felt...tada! Perfect! Your explanation of the pain is exactly what I was feeling....I can only tell you that I am most certainly allergic to an ingredient in the cytomel. I never ever have had that. It felt like I ate glass. Not something Id ever want to get used to. So my tummys feels fabulous after only 24 hrs off cytomel...now heres the tricky part...

I m waiting to see if my doctoer will call in perscription for another t3...then I have to get it...see if im allergic....then ask her to up the dose to switch the armour. aye yae yae...everything seems to be harder for me ever since this thyroid problem began. I wish I was one of the lucky ones who just take armour and are happy campers):

i really don't know what it is that causes this! same thing, severe bloating, gas, sort of a cramping feeling...... i would say that it lasts about a good week or two after i have made a t3 adjustment. and yes, it comes in waves. makes me wonder if it's more a ibs sort of activation from hormone shifts. wish i could add more to this, but all i attribute this to is changes. when i make no t3 changes it settles down and totally goes away. recently when i went hyper from trading 30 mcg srt3 for 20 mcg t3, it got terrible to the point where i shunned food. i had knots of gas and muscle cramping moving through me. have been steady in a lower dose for the last 3 days and it's lessening. i think hormone shifts really effect some of our guts. i recall when i use to cycle right before my period when progesterone really built up i would have all sorts of digestive issues.

Im having a hard time with the sources Val...they are all long holds that dont answer..or machines. Ill keep trying.but Im trying to get the ingredients or the other 2 t3 medicines.

Val, between the time released t3 and the other 2 t3,s which do you think would be better for me to switch from armour too? Not sure which have simplier ingredients AND also at the same time will work.> um, it a huge help! could you have it prepared compounded? without fillers?

also there was a supplement i came accross some time ago which contained natural t3. could not have any time to make further investigation on it. it was GTA by biotics. you might wish to explore that. it was discussed i think at nthadrenals list.

Okay, Help Val! I am going nuts. After making the mistake of purchasing online some titre...Ive just realized that apparently ALL the other t3's are generic of cytomel..and therefore exact replicas!! Oh, no...now Ive spent 40 dollars I didnt have to throw away. And

Tahts great info. Im going to get gta...will it interfere or change the thyroid dose we take currently? Also, I really have a hard time when everywhere it says that low t4 and low t3 mean high tsh. It confuses me, because I have very low tsh(last time .003) and low t4 and lower t3

I don't know much about it. i was making a search and wished to share what i found.I think you need to consider that it is t3 and adjust your doses accordingly. We also don't know how much t3 it contains.this may be asked to manufacturar, Val may help you on your remaining questions.

confusing...they say take GTA if high tsh...but I have low tsh.

they keep mentioning high cortisol..which I dont have, Ive been going nuts online, wondering about hypopituitary and what to do for it.

I asked my doc in an email about possibly using HC. the thought of using it forever is maddening. so worried to skip a dose and get sick.

No problem except price! My tertroxin I have left is a year and a half

old, but if the ingredients are still the same, that would be my choice

if I could afford it.

theoretically as long as your thyroid remains optimal, you should be ok.

Your doctor is on the ball re ferritin at least.

But I forget what your B12 and vit D status are? Or if you are keeping

tabs on those?

B12 anemia is often mistaken for iron anemia. And low D levels are

implicated in fatigue.

Okay guys. Today is my first day back on the 5 mcg addition of CYTOMEL to my current 2 1/2 Armour. So far (took it 4 hrs ago) no tummy pain. But I forgot to tell you guys that while I was on the cytomel for those 7 days, my old horrible neck pain and cracking came back. I should say that since Ive been off the Cytomel, the pain went away. NOW, it's starting back.

How could this small bit of T3 cause this pain? Gosh Im becoming very fustrated, like there is no hope.>>> > Subject: Re: Re: help t3 cytomel tummy ache> To: RT3_T3 > Date: Sunday, December 21, 2008, 3:12 AM>> I have also repeatedly seen LOW FERRITIN cause a low TSH in people> even> with very low thyroid hormone levels. Oh, I didnt know that! So, I was going to ask if you think I should only take 2.5 cytomel for a while first...or should I take 5mcg everyother day, so I dont stress my adrenals? I t took me a couple of hours to feel anything, but I do feel kind high buzzy now from the 5 mcg. heart beating a bit quicker.Maybe I should go alittle slower. Still waiting to hear from my about possibility of HC fo me. I thought about ordering ACE to take with ISOCORT, but read contridictory things...So. I might still do that.

T3 causes cortiso to clear MUCH more rapidlyl thanwhen you are hypothyroid. Thsiis low cortils experesing and I would think you need to uop your adrneal supoport.-- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/------------------------------------

You can go to 2.5mcg but I would take ti twice a day as that is nothign

but a teaser to your body and definitlye DO NOT go to eveyr other day

dosing. tghsi woudl throw your body into total confusion. T3 is gone

mostly in 6-8 hours. Thus twice a day dosing is the preferred method of

taking it.
