I'm in nursing school....we just learned about Angina Pectoris, it

will sometimes also make you have pain down into your arms as well as

chest pain. Wait and see what the stress test and other tests say.

I know everything must be running through your head right now but try

not to let your imagination run away with you. I will keep you in my

thoughts.

I had the acid reflux and it was HORRIBLE!!! After a couple of weeks on Atkins, all of the symptoms have gone away. It was usually more noticeable to me a night also. The worst cases were when I had anything that was acidic.

Maybe you arehaving a food intolerance/allergy. Which veggies are you eating? Have you added anything new? (veggies, nuts, cheeses, etc?)

I have been off and on Atkins for the past two months. I was

really strict for two weeks the last week in Oct. and first week in

Nov. but I was still have the pains. My husband and I started strict

induction again yesterday. Maybe between the medicine I'm taking and

sticking to this WOE, I will see an improvement. I'm just worried

that it is my heart not acid reflux......

I don't have acid reflux.. but my son in law did.. he even had surgery ( it

got that bad) and finally discovered that milk or milk products( such as

cheese) was the cause.

He's doing great now that he has eliminated those foods. good luck Rhonda..

hope your dr can get to the bottom of it real quick !

Rhonda,

I have never really had this problem, but I think LC will be

very good for combating acid reflux. I have a friend who had

this problem and it was very frightening for her, so I hope you

will take heart (pun not intended) in your doctor's belief

that you are not having heart problems. It is good that he is

going to follow up with additional tests because they will

hopefully show nothing wrong with your heart and that will help

put you at ease over this.

Take care and stick with the low carb. You said that you really

blew it over the weekend and if you just started back on

induction yesterday, the higher carb intake could be part of the

problem. That will teach you (and me) to stick with it, right?

I am pleased to be back down to 138.5 for the second day in a

row and hopefully continuing to lose. How are you doing? I

couldn't believe it when someone reminded me that Thanksgiving

was next week. I kept thinking that I had 2 months to lose this

10 pounds. Now we are down to just a matter of weeks with the

most food-indulging holidays of the year still ahead! Yikes.

If I can keep the carbs and weight down over the weekends I will

be in better position to meet my goal. After all, I lose at

least two pounds every week. They just happen to be the same

two pounds over and over.

Let's get serious with our 10 pound goal and maybe that will

help your acid reflux as well.

Thanks for the inspiring words -- they hit right at my heart! (See I

still have my sense of humor!) Seriously, I really should have more

trust in my doctor and should try to stop worrying about it.

Believe you me, I'm not leaving this WOE again nor will I EVER take

any diet drug again -- so help me God!

Congrats on being back down to 138.5. Hopefully tomorrow you will

tell me that you are at 138! I am back up to 172 but plan on

starting a downhill slide -- weight that is.

Hi Rhonda,

Diet drugs are kind of scary aren't they? I was never to the

point where I tried anything other than appetite suppressants,

but isn't it so much nicer to do it all naturally with Atkins?

Just keep reminding yourself that your Dr. knows you were on

Phen-Fen and he doesn't think that is your problem. It is just

so good that he is able to tell you that your heart is probably

okay, but also knows that you need the reassurance that comes

from those tests he has recommended. It sounds like you are

in good hands and if the acid reflux has not bothered you since

you started the medicine, that is probably what the problem

is. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, but I know

it is just your body making you commit to that 10 pound challenge.

You have to do this, because I'm not strong enough to push for

it alone. I'm not really strong enough to do it with someone

else pushing me! LOL

Sherry,

It sounds like we both need to stop worrying so much! Hopefully

this time next week we will wonder why we were even worrying at

all!

Let us know what the doc says.

Rhonda,

I know how you feel. Acid Reflux is an awful thing. I use pepic ac and

it works great. I have not had it for a long time but for some strange

reason I had it last night. I had a salad with shrimp so I don't know

why I had it. I hate the awful taste you get in your mouth. Hope

everything turns out ok for you. I also too Phen /fen. I had the heart

scan and everything is fine.

Rhonda, I took Phen/Fen for almost 2 years. I loved it. If it was still

on the market I would still be taking it. But I will NEVER try another

diet pill . There just is not enough studies being done before they give

them out. They are using us as guinnea pigs for most of this stuff. I am

very lucky that I did not have any side effects. My sister also took it

for about the same time. She is doing fine also. I really felt good on

it.When I said I would still be taking it if it was available I mean

only if there were no side effects and it was proven safe. I lost alot

of weight on it and felt great.

Did you have the heart test done? Mine came back fine.

No, I didn't have the heart test done back then because I wasn't

haven't any problems. My test is set up for this coming Tuesday. I

just hate to think something is wrong with my heart just because I

took some stupid diet pills to lose weight. We shall see....
