tonya, I believe that is your name,

I am replying about the vitamins. I give my son omega 3 which is

great for their brain and many other things and I give him vita

balls. they are a multi vitamin and they come in a gum ball. My son

hates chewable anything but he loves gum and they dont taste bad

because I have chewed them before. I buy them at wallmart.gina

You are very fortunate to have such a good psychiatrist! Ours never ran

a single blood or medical test. He offers a different med every time we

go in and when I go home and research the drug they are new and his

prescribing them is " off label " usage. Not one single doctor we have

seen during the full year we tried to get a diagnosis checked for

vitamin deficiencies, not even when I asked. What state do you live in?

I use RID lice Shampoo, then I put gel or anything that you leave in the hair. I've been told by many different people that lice love clean hair. So hair spray, gel, leave in conditioners, oils, etc...they I tie their hair up. I always see those warning notes the first month of school. " lice outbreak ". And I have gotten too lazy to deal with those bugs !!! if you cruise the net, you can find organic lice shampoo too.christie speckel <packerpenguin@...> wrote: which shampoo do

Wow, that's odd. Actually, the very first psychiatrist I ever took

either one of our kids to was like that, i.e., not very medical other

than giving out psych drugs. I never went back! Maybe you just need

to find a better doc. I live in Texas. --Ruth

You're using lice shampoo to prevent lice? I've read that it isn't really the safest stuff to use.My kids have never had them so I don't have experience, but a friend treated her daughter with cetaphil after she had lice and nothing was working. You leave the cetaphil in for a few days. Seems safer to me.> What vitamins do you give your aspie? I give my kids a multi as insurance. My son gets gummy bears since he

shouldn't have the iron (constipation) and my daughter needs the iron so

she takes Flintstones. Generics taste horrible to her.

Fish oil won't hurt, but the evidence is still a little weak for

attention problems. My kids wouldn't take them and we returned them to

costco. I bet my dog would've loved them though. He has skin problems

and they are supposed to help with the inflammation. Maybe I'll get

some again for him.

thanks, I didn't know that wasn't safe to use. I do know the first month of school, after summer break is lice month. we always get a note sent home to check heads - there was an outbreak. the rest of the year was much better.kellypywtorak <kellypywtorak@...> wrote: You're using lice shampoo to prevent lice? Hi, Jen - flintstones ar junk, I'm afraid . they don't even have the

basic things adults need (since they are kid's vits), let alone the

special things WLS patients need. i'm seeing more and more people

getting anemic, deficient in calcium iron, B1 and more.

I know some docs still sugggest Flintstones, but i can't for the life

of me understand why, wih the current info out now.

I use and highly recommend the Bariatric Advantage vits. they have

specific formulas made for each type of WLS, and the Vita-Band vits

are formualted for bandsters. See the files for the " Vitamin "

information. I listed the contact info for the wholesale person I get

mine from, if you want to save about 10%.

The document explains why we need much better vits than we thought -

I've done pretty extensive research on this in the last several

months, and have also gone to several seminars on bandster vity

needs.

Is there a file somewhere that says specifically how much of each vitamin,

etc is needed? When I compared the children's chewable that I am taking (2

each day) the amounts were the same or higher than the Centrum chewable.

I'd really like to compare apples to apples and see what, if anything, I am

missing.

I was banded May 12, 2008, have had two fills (total of 4.5) and have lost

48 pounds.

Flintstones contain none of the micro-nutrients needed by adults for

eye health and more.

even the centrums, which dio have some of these, are not USP

approved, certifying they are the pharmaceutical grade ingredients

needed. they do not carry the USP certification on the label, and few

otc vits/supplements do.

Each vit has ingredients available online for comparison, and i'm

working on a comparison chart now.

the Bariatric Advantage vits are the ones researched and proven to

contain what bandsters need, per new research. Many docs are now

recommending them, and they are what I take and recommend.

see the vitamin document here in the files for my research and

recommendations, from the international seminars i have recently

attended with the top band researcher in the world.

Hoku ~~

Those sound like herbs to me. My hepatologist advised me not to take herbs as they are unregulated and their strength and purity can't be known. Since many of them are in combination with others there are not any studies that can tell us whether they are safe or not. I have decided to err on the side of caution and not take them. She did advise that multiple vitamins (such as Centrum) were fine. It is better to find one that doesn't have iron as taking iron is hard on the liver. There are some cases when their is little liver damage that iron can be okay WITH DOCTOR APPROVAL ONLY. It must be reviewed in light of the condition of your liver and your overall health.

I hope your tx is coming along okay and that you are not having too much trouble with sides.

Blessings,

These ingredients are in my vitamins. Are any of these toxic to the liver? spirulina, bee pollen, lemon bioflavonoid complex, black currant seed, korean ginseng root, choline, inisitol, quercetin dihyrate, rutin, rna (ribonucleic acid from yeast) paba, dna (deoxyribonucleic acid from yeast), amylase, lipase, betatene, floraglo lutein, octacosanol, zeaxanthin( from marigold)

Chasity,

My grandmother has been taking vitamins since 1960, and she smells

like them due to the amounts that she consumes. During our

infestation she was never bothered by the mites. So I believe there

to be alot of truth in what the Medicine man from India said....

What vitamins are everyone suggesting to their patients? Do you suggest the same for bands and bypass patients? Is it beneficial for bands to take 2 MVI or only bypass? Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Just noticed this email. Our office uses Vita 4 Life and we have guidelines as the number taken daily depending on the surgery. Bands and VBG with Sleeve get 2, PRNY get 4, and DS get 12.

+++Hi Kim. Ensure calcium and magnesium are the " citrate " form, and

also that you buy calcium and magnesium in separate tablets.

+++Yours contains an imbalance of cal to mag, so depending upon

the " kind " it is (citrate or another type), you need to buy magnesium

separate, so you can take equal amount of cal/mag.

+++Yes, that is correct. But you also need more magnesium than is in

your supplement - iHerb has Natural Factors brand calcium and

magnesium citrate - write down my Rewards No., which is EWI284 so I

get credit.

Yes, my son is on Vita-Spectrum. I switched him from brainchild to the

klaire's a few months ago and he's doing great. He drinks this with no

problem over the brainchild which was a huge plus for us since getting him

to drink the other was becoming quite the battle. And for about $20 a

month, I could not be happier!

They are actually coming out with a new flavor in 6 weeks or so - and

Christy from Klaire said it tastes better than the original and is really

quite good. So I don't know if you want to wait to try the new flavor, if

you're mixing it with something. If your kiddo takes capsules, then no need

to think about it.

Some reported that it was chalky, so I tested both the powder and capsule

forms - I mixed the doses with about 2 ounces of water and it dissolved with

no problem and I add our other supplements and some pear juice to top it

off. He drinks it with no problem.

Best place is probably directly from Klaire - call them to place the order,

they will ask who referred you - tell them Dr McCandless - it will also get

you 20% off all of your purchases there.

Hope this helps,

Doesn't disolve in juice, kinda chalky. We give our supplements in juice, so it

> Just as a quick intro. My name is Terri and I have been reading here for about

1 month now. I have been following a sugar free, gluten free, casein free diet

for about 2 years now trying to help eliminate my seizures. I also have cut out

all caffeine as well as MSG, additives, food colorings etc. This has greatly

reduced my seizures but not totally eliminated them. The Dr. also put me on a

yeast free diet. All that to say that since I found Bee's site it has been a

simple matter of eliminating some brown rice and potatoes plus adding in some

coconut oil to be on the program. I have never been on any seizure medication

but have taken numerous supplements on and off and would like to get on board

with Bees recommendations.

confusing and since I can't drive because of the seizures I would be glad to

order on line under your # if you will guide me to the exact ones you use. I'm

good on everything except the A, D and Omega 3's (I live in Texas so don't feel

like I need cod liver oil.

+++Hi Terri. Welcome to our group. This article explains how much sun exposure

you need, with 85% of your skin exposed during optimum times of the day, and the

only Omega 3, plus a separate vitamin A when you get enough sun exposure which

makes vitamin D on your skin:
