Kate,so sorry your not feeln well.Maybe you should cath or try,if you think it

would help.Well,im glad you shouted to them that your not old and you have ms.I

dont know what to say about your hubby.I always use my cane or walker to go

out.Sometimes people ask what is wrong with me,I dont even know so what can I

say? did you ask your hubby why he said that? Does he admit to you about

drinking?Or do you call him on it? I know what it is like to live with an

alcoholic, its hard.I dont think there is any way to make it better unless he

stops drinking and gets help.He has a good thing with having you and the kids,I

hope he realizes that before its to late.I will be praying for you Kate.

Hi, I'm not feeling so hot lately. Few things. I still have the hives/rash that

began the other day. The covering neuro said to stop the Cymbalta. So I did. The

only a temporary fix. Now I'm beginning to not get all my urine out. I do have a

few straight cath kits--so I might try my hand at it, but am nervous. When the

urologist showed me, I only peeked a bit at the demo. I feel as if I'm coming

down with another round of pneumonia. What actually constitutes a flare? It

seems I don't really have a firm grasp on that? And can WE circumvent a

flare-up? Like, if I get the pee out of me with a cath, am I going to be able to

avoid my body going into an exacerbation? Or once it is in the throes of it, is

it too late? Are these, like stupid questions or what?

Walking up the street today from a neighbors; my husband was across the street

at another neighbors. The man, who is Spanish, with some English knowledge asked

my husband if I was ok, seeing that I use my cane now all the time. He leans

towards the man, and says, oh...she is just getting old....I shouted across the

street and said in Spanish-I am not an old woman, I have Multiple Sclerosis.

so now, my husband is not just in denial of his drinking problem; he came home

drunk again last night; but in denial about my MS also.

I'm going to go rest. blessings to all, kate

Thanks Cassy. I just feel so down and depressed. I know he is angry that I didn't come with him to Passover. Our friends each year invite us and the kids; we've been going for about 20 yrs or so. I really don't feel well, and feel like pneumonia is hitting again. Or just plain fatigue and depression . I know now he is going to drink like a fish tonight. Sometimes, God forgive me, I wish he'd get pulled over or caught at the wheel, and get arrested. Maybe it would be a wake-up call for him. I don't know. Thanks kate Re: what would you do?To: MSersLife > Kate,so sorry your not feeln well.Maybe you should cath or > try,if you think it would help.Well,im glad you shouted to them > that your not old and you have ms.I dont know what to say about > your hubby.I always use my cane or walker to go out.Sometimes > people ask what is wrong with me,I dont even know so what can I > say? did you ask your hubby why he said that? Kate, first of all, there are NO stupid questions. I wish I had answers for you..as for not getting all the pee out, have you tried sitting forward on your pelvis? Might help force it out.

I'm so sorry your hubby is an insensitive boob. Maybe being pulled over would be a good thing, as long as he doesn't have an accident and kill or harm soneone...that would be terrible...have you changed the deed over to just your name? So you don't lose your home?

You know as long as I have a roof, you have one, too.

{{{Kate}}} for your MS and husband. When you pee do you lean forward to try to get more urine out? I do that then sit up straight and then lean over again. I do that, slowly, until I think I'm done. And there are no stupid questions! Each person is different on how their MS will effect them. So I wouldn't dare try to guess if you'll have a full blown flare or not. I wish I could so I could help everyone here. x0x0x0 Shirley katelloydkidz@... wrote: Hi, I'm not feeling so hot lately. Few things. I still have the hives/rash that began the other day. I went thru a couple expensive testing at the urologist. It tests for that. I was okay but she said if I have problems to take this flomax. Usually for guys for prostrate but works toget out everything. Also to drink more water and keep taking my cranberry pills. I know what you are talking about and it is most likely from certain nerves not working right. I had to sit in a chair hooked up to electrodes and a catherder and they fill it up and see how much comes out. The test before they wanted to know how much I cuold go after I did no have to. It was not painful just yucky. NOt sure if your urologist has the chair to do the testing, but maybe that would find the problem. Good luck and hope you feel better! Know you have a great family here on mslifers! marianne2

I know what you mean.I use to wish the same about my fiance.I always thought who

the hell does he think he is,drinking and driving. What about the harm he could

do,to himself, others, and to his family. We have been pretty good since he quit

almost 4 yrs.ago.We are on a rocky path right now.Its to much.He is working outa

town all week, cuz its slow here. And now they want him to take a supervisor

position in Reno.I hate Reno,I would have to start over with docs, switch my

daughters school(shes been in all her life)and leave my family(they help take

care of me) its all to much, its drifting us apart. He thinks I need to make

sacrifices,he never makes sacrifices when it comes to work I feel bad if I dont

go cuz it means a supervisor position for him,but he expects me to just up and

go in the next couple of mons.Im just lost.He knows all the reasons I dont want

to go but yet dosnt understand them. HE is just on a 1 track mind right now,and

its really pissing me off.Hugz,cassy

pneumonia is hitting again. Or just plain fatigue and depression . I know now he

wake-up call for him. I don't know. Thanks kate

I poo too...and I foof...a lot. For some reason I seem to be very gassy of late. I'll wake up in the middle of the night, too hot, toss off the covers and lie there, baking, and foof. Hey, if Kate can share things like she did, have the bravery to, it gives me the guts to talk about my little problem...nothing like hers but embarrassing nonetheless, especially when it actually wakes Rob up! I'll finally cool down enough to go back to sleep, don't know if I still foof, since I'm sleeping. But last night was ridiculous! We had fish for dinner, you'd a thought we'd had beans! Anyone else have this problem? Or is it just me?

Where are you now? I've never been to Reno, why do you hate it? I don't think it if fair of him to be so one-sided about it, yes, a promotion is always good, but don't they have any local places they can promote him to?

Kate, I in and out cathed for a year, now I'm wearing a foley cath all the time. I'm willing to do it because if urine backs up because your unable to urinate then it would cause renal failure and not emptying completely causes UTI's. If you have questions, you can always email me privately. It happens to me too all the time. I do the same thing; lean forward , take a deep breath, try to relax after a couple of times it works, but takes a while. My doctor told me not to push or force it , cause that can cause UTI's (like I have not had enough of those!). sometimes, when it finally comes out, I get that slow stream that lasts about 1/2 hr. to empty, thank god I live alone LOL. and yes I also have those awful Bowel problems, try getting to the bathroom fast enough for that one! hey Kate,

I had the test done by a woman. they had me lay down and put the caterer in and also a tube in the rectum. they filled me up and tested how much I retained. The reason for the rectum was to see if the muscles are coordinated. No pain just a little embarrassing, or maybe a lot embarrassing.

Hey nne2~or mariannetoo! I think that is the test I'll be having April 28--it is called Urodynamics testing. gee, it's gonna be done by a guy! yikes! My urologist is a woman, but doesn't do the testing. They only do it on Sat.s, and they didn't have anyone on staff doing it, but they now have a 'man' who comes in on Saturdays and does it. How long a test was it? Do you remember? Surely, not looking forward to it! kate Re: what would you do?To: MSersLife > I went thru a couple expensive testing at the urologist. It > tests for that. Yes, my neuro showed me something similar years ago. Sit to go pee and go as much as you can, then raise up slightly and lean forward bending yourself forward (does that make sense?). It helps. Sometimes people tell me they have to push in on their low abdomen above the pelvic bone to get the urine going. Sharon Re: what would you do?

Walking up the street today from a neighbors; my husband was across the street at another neighbors. The man, who is Spanish, with some English knowledge asked my husband if I was ok, seeing that I use my cane now all the time. He leans towards the man, and says, oh...she is just getting old....I shouted across the street and said in Spanish-I am not an old woman, I have Multiple Sclerosis.

so now, my husband is not just in denial of his drinking problem; he came home drunk again last night; but in denial about my MS also.

I'm going to go rest. blessings to all, kate
