Ya know, maybe not, i am 249, and I eat between 1650-2000. This calculations

says I am supposed to eat 3250. And at 10% I am still supposed to eat 2500.

Wow, ya mean I can actually eat more!! I just hear of all these people

talking about eating no more than 1500 and i thought they were crazy. So as

I

lose weight I am supposed to lower my caloric intake?? You are so awesome

and so knowledgeable about everything.

Temera

who has been lost when it comes to her calorie intake!!

>>

Temera, your body thinks its starving at the lower calorie rate, so it is

running efficiently holding on to extra weight. If the body thinks its

getting enough food (the higher calorie intake) It will run less efficiently

(if that makes since). But the calorie intake isn't so high that it could

support your body weight so you won't gain more.

Wow, I am so amazed. It seems to me that people who are overweight and like

to eat, need to just exercise, not cut calories so low that you are starving.

on dietwatch.com, I chat with people who are on 1200 calorie diets, but do

not exercise. That is why I thought I should be at a low calorie intake.

Well, I do need to add fruit and more veggies into my diet, but thank god, I

have cut out the chips, soda, fried foods. Even by doing all that for the

past 2 years I lost no weight.

Thanks shannon for the words of wisdom, and I am going to up my calories. For

the challenge, all we have to do is stick to our calorie intake, what about

fat and carbs?? I have to go buy this magazine!!

What is the most recommended number of times to do TB in a week. I am only

doing basics?? Just curious!!

Thanks again,

Temera

who has done TB all week and loved it. I also cleaned out my garage today and

am reorganizing all my gym stuff. So my weight bench is easier to access!!!

Yes, I start weightlifting tonight, and go for a nice walk on my treadmill.

Temera,

Exactly! I'm certainly no expert on this...LOL, but I would say you

should definitely eat more! If I were you...I would try eating around

2500 calories a day. If you are exercising regularly...I definitely

think that you should be eating more than 1650 calories! Now, the

key is going to be trying to make healthier choices in using those

extra calories....like add in more fruits and vegetables, or more

healthy type snacks like yogurt, pretzels, graham crackers....things

like that. In other words, don't think that because you are allowed

to eat more...that means you should grab the bag of chips...LOL!

Then, as you start to lose weight...you will start to lower your

caloric needs. Believe me, I completely understand the hesitancy to

eat MORE calories! I have struggled with eating disorders in my past,

so it was terrifying to think that I could eat more without gaining

weight! But, I really do eat WAY more than I ever dreamed I would be

able to eat..LOL! Most days I eat between 2200 and 2500 calories

(with the occasional day above that even...LOL). I agree that it is

really SO confusing. But, I do believe that it's possible that you

should be eating more, especially now that you are consistently doing

Tae-Bo :)
