Guest guest
Everyone, I got the new live 4 pack today and did the instructional. Here's my review. I like it! I learned more things about my form (the hook, the position of my wrist on punches, the height of my knee on side and roundhouse kicks). Unlike the original instructional, works both sides, so you can actually use this tape for a relaxing workout. The camera work is innovative. They have one camera above which he uses to demonstrate certain form tips. This tape has some challenging balance positions which gets the whole class groaning. is very relaxed and upbeat. At one point, he dances and sings to the twist (and shows us how it fits into taebo moves). As a joke, the regulars call him " sir " during the tape. Speaking of the regulars, most of them are on it (, Debbie, , Deon, , Jasmine, nne, Taebo Queen, and Irene). Taebo Queen looks great! She changed her hairstyle for the better. I almost didn't recognize her. shows more modifications for stretching and other moves for those of us more physically challenged. That's all I can think of for now. I am glad I got this tape and will do it again this weekend to improve my form. Tomorrow: the New 4-pack advanced live tape! Elena
Guest guest
Elena-Thanks for review of the instructional tape. It sounds great! I received my 4 pack today, too! Well, unlike Elena, I jumped right into the advance workout. Reason being is that I did a basic this morning. Yoo hoo, . This tape should be called, Tae Bo with ! I sure hope you get your set before you visit your aunt. You were in the spotlight so many times. You looked great and your form is super! I'm really so darn proud of you. Much to 's dismay, I'm sure, this is the workout where spends a lot of time on the floor. LOLOLOLOLOL. The breakdown is 20 minutes cardio. The cardio is all punching combos. There is no kicks in this section. really no warmup at all, then you go down to the floor and start with abs. Great ab work. Then you do some leg work. The total time on the ground is 20 minutes. Then you stand up and start the kicking session. says it's 20 minutes long, but it's not. I think it's about 16 minutes, maybe even shorter. Then he does a great Tai Chi cool down that lasts about 8 minutes. This is his shortest advance tape. It's only 52 minutes long. I'm really wondering if they did edit some of the kicking segment. I then previewed some of the basic tape. is in this tape, too. There is one girl that I know of from the fitness forum that I post too in this tape. I'm hoping that the other three girls that I know from the other site is in one of the videos. Both tapes have great music.

Guest guest
Debbie, Are you serious??? I can't believe I'm in both tapes. Now I'm really dying to get those tapes. I don't know what I'm going to do if I don't get them before Friday. I'm definitely going to have to have my roomate mail them to me. Are you sure you were watching the right person on that form thing? I can recall feeling like I was about to die from the heat and all that floorwork. Thanks for the compliments, though! I'm sure I'll be a little more critical of myself who can't believe she is in both the Advanced and Basic tapes -From the description you posted, yellow cut off shirt, black pants with stripes and in the back, it's gotta be you. ;-D Remember when when to you a couple of times and had you punch his hands? Well, they have the camera on you two the whole time, plus a whole lot more. I'm serious, the camera zoomed on you a bunch of times. I'm not sure about the floor session, though. I was too busy doing those insane moves insists are easy. NOT! I'm just so darn happy I wasn't at the live taping. Lordy, you guys were definitely troopers. Barb, yes there are new combos in both tapes. Again, I'm glad I wasn't at the live tapings. They were brand new combos. My hubby just walked in, so I'll post tomorrow. I know that one time I called the girl was like " wow you have a lot of tapes " and acted like I was crazy for wanting more. I think they get confused when people like us call and want to order more. Also, I think it messes them up when you order tapes as gifts for people...because I've done that a couple of times and I think it messed up my records. They just really need to get a better system and understand that there are people out there that are passionate about tae-bo and need to know that when they place an order....they will actually get what it is that they ordered! Since I have had such a bad experience with them, I am so quick to just assume that they all don't know what they are doing. It dawned on me why doesn't do a lot of choreography in his tapes. Due to the live tapings, his combos have to be short. These moves are not praticed before the tapings. He had a lot of new punching and some kicking combos in the BL tape and everyone had to learn them. One punching combo is, jab, hook, uppercut. Quite of few people had a hard time catching on, me included! So kudos for !

Guest guest
Here's my review of the basic and advanced tapes from the new 4-pack: First, and most importantly, is a great taeboer. Her form is good, she held her balance on a difficult section, and seemed to get most of the moves. She also looked great. I'd give her a " 10. " I love the basic tape. Actually, I consider it a 30-minute " advance " tape because of the speed, difficulty, and number of new combinations. There is no " walking it out " on this tape. It will take me a while to learn all of the moves (like Debbie said the " jab, hook, and uppercut " combination is tricky and will take practice). The music is wonderful. Barb, I'll have to do the tape a few more times before I can share any new combinations. There is not any jumping, but there is a lot of kicking. There is a child who taeboes, too, whom helps with her kicks. One caveat (especially for new taeboers): Unlike on the studio basic, does not spend much time teaching form on this tape. I would think that this would be a very difficult tape for someone coming straight from the instructional tape and wouldn't recommend it for that purpose. For those of us who want a shorter advance tape, this is the real thing. With the exception of being in the advanced tape and the ab floor work, I'm not crazy about the advanced tape. starts the cool down (the tai chi) at the 48th minute. So, there is actually only about 19 minutes of punching, 20 minutes of floor work, and 9 minutes of kicking. The kicking section doesn't include any new combinations that I can remember. I think realized the class was just too pooped from the floor work. The punching section had a punching combination that I will have to work on (4 jabs and uppercuts to the side with each jab and uppercut counting as 1 beat). I did like the ab floor work. It has very difficult ab exercises that I hadn't seen before (but I haven't done AL5 yet), some of which has you do in double time. I agree with that doubletiming these new exercises can be very dangerous. They made me very nervous about my neck and I will stick to single time on them for awhile or forever. The tai chi at the end did seem to be a filler. The music (upbeat, fast paced) did not go with the slow movements at all. These are just my preliminary views (and yes I was distracted by ). I'm sure my opinions about the advanced tape will change over time. I think tomorrow I will do the basic followed by the advanced through the floor work and stop when they get up for the kicks. That should be a great 70 minutes workout. Elena
