Yes, definitely I think it helps. If those things are on my face at

night, that seems to always wake me up so I keep my hair in a cap,

face covered with MSM cream, ears plugged, nostrils with Vicks Vapo

Rub and the eyes covered with the mask. (from Bed, Bath & Beyond

stores) I look reaaaallly scary at night! LOL!

Thank you for the giggle. I am able to visualize so well. This is so unattractive on any level really. Oh well, if the voodoo look is in, what the heck?........more giggling.

==>Hi Lola. That is very common for people who have candida and/or

have heavy metals in their bodies and they don't have " good " fats in

their diet (which cleans them out).

>

> My latest symptom other than joint pain is blurred eye site  and

one eye waters in am...any ideas?

==>Candida causes eye floaters and even tiny lights that flash off to

the side of the eyes. They disappear sometime during your candida

program. Watery eyes are a way for the body to get rid of toxins.

Did you ever use eye drop medications or have those drops in your

eyes to open up the pupils before an eye exam? Also most babies have

silver nitrate put in their eyes at birth. the body needs to get rid

of all that stuff as well. It will improve as you progress, and it's

nothing to be concerned about.

The best, Bee

The cost of an eye test

If you answer 'yes' to any of these questions you are entitled to NHS free eye tests.

Are you aged 60 or over?

Are you under 16, or under 19 and in full time education?

Do you live in Scotland?

Do you or your partner receive income support, family credit, income based job seekers allowance, pension credit guarantee, and are entitled to or named on a valid NHS tax credit exemption certificate, or are named on valid HC2 certificate?

Do you have diabetes or glaucoma?

Are you 40 or over and have a close relative with glaucoma?

Does a hospital ophthalmologist say you are at risk of glaucoma?

Are you registered blind or partially sighted?

Are you entitled to vouchers for complex lenses?

NHS rules may change from time to time. If you think you qualify for free eye tests, speak to your optometrist before you have the eye test and they will ask you to sign a NHS Sight Test Form.

Hi,

I also had an eye test recently and my eyesight has deteriorated dramatically in

the last year. While the optician didn't give any specifics she did say that it

was due to my being ill. So I now have to wear glasses after not having any for

many years. The whole cost of being ill is massive...

in addition to the cost of medicine, vitamins, minerals and doctor consultations

because the NHS won't treat I have the following....

can't work...lost earnings

extra money for 'prepared' meals for my family as I am too tired to cook

extra heating because I am so cold

new clothes in increasingly larger sizes

more petrol because I am too tired to walk anywhere

glasses because my eyesight has deteriorated

the true cost financial cost? how can we possibly calculate?

> my sister recently had an eye test and was told by the optician that she had

retinal thinning to the back of the eye it is caused by atrophy(old age)or

thyroid related has any one heard of this before

Hi - I believe that opticians can tell whether you are

suffering with hypothyroidism from an eye test (I am sure I have read about

this but I may be wrong). If correct, can you ask your optician to write a

letter to your GP stating this possibility.

Also, write a letter to your GP listing your symptoms, signs

(look at our website to check these) www.tpa-uk.org.uk

.. List your basal temperatures for 4/5 days when waking, and before you get out

of bed. List any members of your family who have a thyroid or autoimmune

disorder. Ask for a full thyroid function test to include testing to see if you

have antibodies to your thyroid. Ask to have your blood tested to see whether

you have low ferritin, B12, Vitamin D3, zinc, copper and magnesium. Explain to

your GP that you are aware that if any of these are low, your thyroid hormone

will not be utilised by the cells and this could be why you are feeling so

dreadful. Tell the GP also that you would like the results and reference range

for each of them when they have been done as you are keeping a diary of events

that your ill health is causing you to try to find an answer.

List also what you are having to put up with now because of your

failing health and the NHS lack of being able to give you a diagnosis

can't

work...lost earnings

extra money for 'prepared' meals for my family as I am too tired to cook

extra heating because I am so cold

new clothes in increasingly larger sizes

more petrol because I am too tired to walk anywhere

glasses because my eyesight has deteriorated

Tell

your GP you need a referral to a thyroid specialist, and not one who's

specialty is diabetes, you need a thyroid specialist.

We

really do have to fight before a doctor will listen to us, but they are often

too afraid to give a diagnosis when your blood results are within the BTA so

called reference range - which is about the widest in the whole world. They

know there are members of the BTA who are watching out for such doctors and

will report them to the GMC - though I do believe the GMC are realising there

is a great problem with this. Dr Skinner was allowed to carry on diagnosing and

treating as he always has, so until word gets around that doctors ARE allowed

to use their own brains, so long as they can give a very good reason WHY they

made such a decision, they will remain scared. Perhaps you should talk to your

doctor about this and see if this is the reason a diagnosis in your case is

being refused.

Luv

Hi Sheila,

Thanks for your concern. I hope you and are well.

I don't feel to good at the moment. My pulse is still very fast as is my heart

beat. I'm weaning off the the HC as I've been on it since Feb. My temps are low

and stable so I think I need more T4 or T3, don't know which.

I had my Neurology check up and my Neuro wants me under an Endo. I need to now

take a closer look at the list you sent me and request I see one of my choosing.

Problem is choose 'n' book doesn't mean I get the Endo I want, just the

hospital. I need one that won't stop my T3. My GP has no intention of stopping

it.

I would like to see an Endo as I want all my hormones testing as I'm sure I have

a problem with Prog/Eostrogen balance and possibly low GH which is also

indicated in MS.

I seem to have gone from bad to worse since starting all my meds but I know it's

a long haul and it will come right in the end. I have at least lost 2 stone

since starting the T3 so that's good.

+++Hi Shaila. As Neal wrote, your eye problems are caused by toxins coming out

through them. It will clear up eventually just doing this program.

My son was diagnosed with glaucoma when he was 5 years old--he had the

trabectelectomy and everything has been great since. He just recently had to go

back on drops because he experienced a flare up--he has been on drops for about

a month now and we hope to get him off them asap. He is on Mtx and we have

increased the dosage in hopes to knock out the flare up--if not Humira has been

one of the medicines mentioned to me they may consider changing him too. My son

now is 13 and we have been fighting JRA and Uveitis since he was 5--it is an

on-going battle and I hate it.

upset. The doctor is considering a trabectelectomy. Any suggestions.

My 8 year old is possibly starting on Humira this week, she's been fighting

uveitis since March, and the eye dr. isn't happy with having to keep using

the pred forte drops, so we're going to try the Humira along with the

methotrexate...we had the choice of either Humira or Remicade, but I wasn't

too thrilled with the idea of a 3-4 hour infusion every month...

My rheummy said humira was the best one to try. He goes to UCLA. Her name is Dr.

Mcurdy. We are going to do it. This month he will see her and we are going to

start Humira if all goes well. All the emails with supportive info has helped me

get over the hump. My son is the one I have to convince to go along with this

treatment. It just seems so drastic, but we try it and see where it takes us.

Thank God for this support group. Jeanne

May I ask what scares you about Humira?

My 13yo son has been on it 11 months - weekly. It has been a life-saver with no

detectable side effects.

Hi,

Well, I was afraid of him getting sick. Gosh, I do not know how often he would

get the flu and etc. Cancer is a possible side effect, but I am getting over it.

I think I am going to ask for Humira this month. I guess the responsibility of

giving another medication kind of scares me too. But I can do this. I think my

dad will read over the phamphlet with me and all that negative stuff we will

deal with and start to focus more on the benefits for his eyes. His old, old

like when he was 3 yo said enbrel and medication like it was not as important as

methotrexate was. We just do not want to be a study either. I guess that scares

me like we might be a ginny pig. Terrible, I know, but these medications have

been around for many years. I hope I do not spoil your good attitude. Thanks,

Jeanne

No spoiling my attitude, just learned by experience. My son was so depressed

last December before he started on the Humira (the Enbrel quit working) and he

was hurting so badly that he wouldn't leave his room. It was so sad. He had an

awful Christmas. Anyway, when he started the Humira, the very next morning he

was like " I can live like this. " The depression lifted and he went back to his

old self. That's what sold me.

From all that I have read, the biologics or TNF alpha blockers, are the biggest

thing to keep these kids under control and decreasing future deformity.

I have one kid on Enbrel and another on Humira. I am very thankful that we are

not " always " sick. We are mostly careful about germs, but not crazy.

Yes, I am concerned about cancer. I did give that to God. I can't handle that

one on my own. All I know, is that they need a good quality of life. These

drugs give them a good quality now.

By the way, Humira burns when it is injected. We'll be here if you have

questions.

Hi,

Well, my rheummy said this is the best drug to help quiet the uveitis . Do your

kids have eye problems from the JRA. The most encouraging aspect of your

testimony is that they have not developed the flu. Do you just call your doctor

on call if they get sick or have you experienced that?? Once they are sick where

do you from there?? Does that mean they need antibiotics right away??? I guess

what is the plan of care with humira?? Oh, I read something about a rash with

injecting humira?? Any feedback is appreciated. Jeanne

My kids have had perfect eyes. I am thankful.

got swimmers ear this summer and had bronchitis in August. Peyton has

had a couple of sinus infections in the last few months. Yes, I just go to the

pediatrician or immediate care on weekends and start antibiotics. You just hold

the shot until the antibiotics are through. I am a little afraid of infection.

I try to stay on top of it.

has never had a rash. I hope we don't.

Keep us updated on how your son does.
