OMG, Mike!

You're supposed to start out slowly with the coconut oil. Most people start

with 1/2 tsp. three times a day and gradually increase it. My sister even

started at 1/8 tsp. and it took me 6 months to work my way up to 6 Tbsp.

This is most definitely why you have had such strong healing reactions. If you

are still having a hard time, back up and cut your coconut oil intake to a

comfortable level. You want to have some sort of healing reaction, but you

don't need them to be unbearable.

How long have you been taking 6 Tbsp.? You could probably back up to 1 Tbsp.

per day which is 1 tsp. three times a day. It would depend on how you are

feeling.

Hope you're feeling better soon.

> Wow....I must have somehow overlooked the dosing of the coconut oil; I started

out with 6 Tbsp. a day--that must be why I'm having such a hard time with the

healing reactions, especially the glands under my armpits. Do you think this is

a correct assumption? If so, I guess I need to throttle back on my daily

dosage. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. Mike

Hello ,

Well, I have been taking the coconut oil like that for about a month and most

days feel like I have been hit by a truck-- a lot of retracing and healing

reactions.  I worked out yestderday and today I feel really beat up, as well. I

am a weight lifter, and started this diet about 5-6 weeks ago at 207 lbs and

have since lost 19 lbs.  I will surely cut back to at most 1 Tbsp. of coconut

oil per day; thank you very much for that important advice.  Also, how vigorous

should I be working out? I'm a 43 yr. old guy that usually has no problem

keeping up with 25 year olds, but it's been pretty rough lately.

Thank you again; you all are awesome.  I'm very confident that Bee is proud to

have you as a moderator.

Hi Mike,

No doubt you feel like you've been hit by a truck! That should ease off once

you start taking less coconut oil.

Working out and sweating can mobilize toxins so that's why you feel really beat

up today. Bee doesn't recommend that we work out at all. That's because we

need to conserve our energy for healing and it's best not to waste energy at

this point on working out. I know this is very counter to what we are usually

told in the mass media, but we really need to concentrate our energy on healing.

Rest is what we need right now more than anything else.

The types of exercise that Bee recommends are quite mild in comparison to what

you might be used to. They are dry skin brushing, jumping on a mini-trampoline

and walking.

My husband (who is 42) waited about a year on the diet before he started working

out again and even now he doesn't work out very often or even on a regular basis

- just whenever he feels like it. Both my sister and I have found that we have

put on muscle despite ever working out! Your weight will fluctuate as well as

you heal, but don't be concerned. It will balance itself out as time goes on.

Take care,

PS - thank you for your kind words. :o)

Start gently with a spoonful and gradually work up to half a cupful.

Hi Ali,

Thank you for your information. My body is so sensitive that all I can eat is

eggs, the coconut oil and some icing made from confectioner sugar, cocoa powder,

spring water, and coconut oil that is all I am living on. As soon as I stop the

sugar for a couple of day I want to faint. The lemon juice and saurkraut really

irritate my digestive system. I have never in my life had anything like this. It

all started after the death of my father. Even homeopathic remedies cause

swellling in my legs.

+++Hi Martha,

You certainly won't get healthy until you stop having icing from confectioner

sugar and cocoa powder since they feed candida big time!

The reason you feel faint after stopping sugar is because your body has not

changed over from running on glucose/carbs to running on good fats. So it is

very important to slowly get your protein, fat and carb ratios to those

calculated according to your height:

http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/foods8.php

Of course you cannot avoid all detoxifying and healing symptoms, like digestive

issues, since those symptoms are how the body heals itself naturally.

In fact, all dis-ease processes are exactly the same as the healing and

detoxifying processes that are created by the body itself in an effort to

maintain its health. The only difference for people on this healthy program is

they are now progressing towards health rather than becoming more and more

unhealthy, or dis-eased because they are giving their body what it needs to " be

healthy " according to Nature's Laws on Health.

The medical field labels each and every " sign " of poor health as separate

dis-eases, illnesses, symptoms, etc. However all of them are simply " signs " the

body is working hard at maintaining its health in spite of poor nutrition,

toxins, etc., so all of those " signs " are actually normal body reactions.

Just wanted to say thanks for all your help. I am kinda bummed about the working

out, since I've always enjoyed it so much, especially as a stress reliever. I

started cutting back on the coconut oil but am still feeling achy and crappy.

I'm guessing it will take some time for my body to adjust again? Thank you,

+++Hi Mike,

Yes, it will take time for your body to adjust again.

You may not stop feeling achy and crappy, except it should lessen somewhat when

you slowly increase your good fats, since they are healing and detoxifying

symptoms that cannot be avoided in order to get healthy.

In fact, all dis-ease processes are exactly the same as the healing and

Thank you Bee. I will persevere. I did the math and it looks like at least 25

months of healing is needed, and that's just what I can remember about the

antibiotics usage. It's probably a lifetime due to the lousy diet! I have been

on the program now almost 7 weeks and already have seen a huge improvement with

my sinuses. Thank you for all you do. I have a 20+ year medical background and I

find your research not only interesting and factual, but refreshing. You and

Hi Bee,

I think the reality of having to be on the candida diet for about 2.5 to 3 years

and then your other variation of the diet for the rest of my life just hit

me--especially with my favorite holiday coming up (thanksgiving). I'm already

tired of feeling achy and crappy but knowing that my lymph glands are removing

toxins is the reason i feel so bad is good. Even mental stress from work

physically drains me now. However, I have a strong faith and a very high pain

tolerance so I will ride this out for sure. My MD thinks I'm nuts (what a shock)

and tells me I need to get more bloodwork, which I now feel is a waste of my

time and money. My sinus problem that would normally be raging right now during

this time of year is practically non-existent; by this time last year I was

already on antibiotics I think 2 or 3 times! I am definately healthier. Thank

you so much. Just the improvement in my throat and sinuses are a blessing. You

and your team are very caring people which is why so many are finding help here.

Hi Marcia,

Are 's NK cells & HHV6 normalized or under control? Has he told

My kids are doing great, but we get in trouble because of the diet

Argie,

I think Dr. Goldberg yells at all of us. Unfortunately, I'm not always

honest with him because I don't want to be yelled at. I know he does this

because he is so passionate about helping our kids. Dr. G cares deeply

about our kids but he is sometimes too strident (new word I learned from

that means comes on too strong). I've had many conversations with Dr.

G about how this yelling is not okaym because life with our kids is tough

enough without someone telling us we are not doing it right. I have had

several moms email me about this kind of treatment and even forwarded these

emails to Dr. G after eliminating names and any identifying factors. I

don't think he realizes how this affects us or I know he would stop. I'm

trying to help him see it is not helping families or kids.

Best,

Marcia

This is the reason people leave him and he doesn't have the popularity that he

should have if his protocol would work for everyone. As a parent of an autistic

child I see so many therapist and doctors who beleive they are right and tell

me the other treatments I'm doing are wrong. ABA, no Floortime, no Son-Rise,

GFCF, no BED, no GAPS, no SCD, Brain Balance, no speech, no OT, Tomatis, no AIT,

no Listening Therapy, etc. HBOT, no HBOT. It is tiring draining and

overwhelmingly frustrating. The egos are the reason parents give up when they

don't know where to turn next.

I do not know who this Dr G is, but ANY doctor that yells at patients or family

members (especially those who have family memebrs they are helping that have

special needs), in my opinion is not a friendly or helpful doctor. In addition,

I have noticed in my lifetime that doctors who behave in this manner have a " God

complex " and think they are the only ones who can treat your child. After one

visit of him yelling at me, I would have NEVER returned. It is unethical for a

doctor to treat anyone in this manner....NO WAY IN HE** would I EVER PAY ANYONE

TO YELL AT ME, NOR DRIVE TO SEE SOMEONE WHO I KNEW MIGHT YELL AT ME. I am not

sure if that is just plain crazy or ignorant.

To those on the list that do not know who Dr. G is, or have stopped his

treatment for your child...what are you doing on this list????

This list is a forum for patients or parents of patients of Dr. G (and more

recently Dr. Russel and Kathy on) to discuss our progress, our

frustrations, our treatments, our successes, our experiences and so on, with

one another.

This is NOT a place to bash Dr. G!!!

This is a man, a doctor, who has completely dedicated his life to helping

our kids. Any time he " yells " at patients, or rather their parents, he is

doing it for the patients own good. Dr. G knows how important the diet is

in the overall health of his patients. It is too easy for parents to take

the easy route and give in, or not listen to his advice, and let their kids

have the very things that Dr. Goldberg knows is going to cause inflammatory

reactions in many of his patients. He does this because he cares and he

knows that the child can be doing better, can be healthier, can be closer to

recovery. He needs to be their voice and the voice of the parent's

conscience.

We all need a wake up call sometimes because this road is hard.

We have been a patient of Dr. G's for 8 years and not once, even closely has

Dr. Goldberg ever yelled at me or raised his voice. On the contrary, I feel

so indebted to him for listening to me, for believing me when I KNEW my son

didn't have " Autism " , and for saving my son from a life of isolation, poor

health and a bleak future that I feel compelled to want to please him and

NEVER want to disappoint him. He has given me the son that I was afraid I

was losing, the one I was told to " accept that he would always be strange

and weird " . No Dr. G is not God, nor does he have a " God complex " . He is

however our conscience and the voice of our children - his patients, pushing

us all to do better for the sake of our children's health and recovery.

If you are not going to listen to him, then you are better off leaving his

practice. His mission is not to make friends, but instead to make us

parents listen to his experience and save our children. Too many folks take

what part of his advice they want and substitute in what other protocols

they feel they want to work with as well. It doesn't work that way. You

have to give it and Dr. G your all if you want to stop the neuroinflammation

and therefore the " Autistic symptoms " . You have to surrender to all that he

says and do your best to make it work. Only then will you see real change

in your child, their labs, their behaviour and their future.

If you want to talk poorly of Dr. G, do it off list, in private, because the

people that are here for the right reason do NOT want to hear it!

Lori

Re: diet

I do not know who this Dr G is, but ANY doctor that yells at patients or

family members (especially those who have family memebrs they are helping

that have special needs), in my opinion is not a friendly or helpful doctor.

In addition, I have noticed in my lifetime that doctors who behave in this

manner have a " God complex " and think they are the only ones who can treat

your child. After one visit of him yelling at me, I would have NEVER

returned. It is unethical for a doctor to treat anyone in this manner....NO

WAY IN HE** would I EVER PAY ANYONE TO YELL AT ME, NOR DRIVE TO SEE SOMEONE

WHO I KNEW MIGHT YELL AT ME. I am not sure if that is just plain crazy or

ignorant.

Lori,

You are absolutely right. We think the world of Dr G and know his " yell "

(really just a sterner voice in our experience) is completely motivated by

passion. I wish I had found him years earlier and hadn't wasted my time with

the quacks who never cared or made a difference for our son. I feel that when I

am talking to Dr G I am talking to a concerned. loving relative who tells me

the hard truth. The world needs more Dr G's and parents that are willing to make

the hard choices to help their children.

I think Dr. Goldberg yells at all of us. Unfortunately, I'm not always

honest with him because I don't want to be yelled at. I know he does

this

because he is so passionate about helping our kids. Dr. G cares deeply

about our kids but he is sometimes too strident (new word I learned from

that means comes on too strong). I've had many conversations with

Dr.

G about how this yelling is not okaym because life with our kids is tough

enough without someone telling us we are not doing it right. I have had

several moms email me about this kind of treatment and even forwarded

these

emails to Dr. G after eliminating names and any identifying factors. I

don't think he realizes how this affects us or I know he would stop. I'm

trying to help him see it is not helping families or kids.

Best,

Marcia
