Guest guest
Dear Katy Yes i have little aftershocks too. The very first time it happened to me i didnt no what was happening and phoned an ambulance only to be told " you are just having a panic attack " i just love the way they say that 'just', it is a big deal cos they are very scary. I also have rescue remedy and it is very good. Dianne x --- katy mclean <thesuddendeparture@...> wrote: > Dear Dianne, > > Yes, when I have a bad panic attack, I am left > totally drained too. Guest guest
Pris, Are you taking the Klonapin at bedtime or suppertime? If so, it could be wearing off in the morning and you could be getting rebound anxiety. The problem with benzodiazepines (Klonopin, Xanax, Valium etc) is that they lose effectiveness over time and as they wear off you can have worse anxiety symptoms than you had before. You could try taking the Klonopin as late as possible or even taking 1/2 at bedtime and 1/2 your dose in the am (w/ doc's permission, of course). It might also be good to read a book like Don't Panic by R. Reid which has some great behavioral strategies for anxiety. Feel better, Kate F [ ] Panic Attacks About once a week, before I get up, I have a dream that turns into a panic attack. And, every morning, I wake up with anxiety. Anyone have that in the early AM, only? I take Humira, Imuran, pred, Klonapin, Estrogen. Thanks as always, Pris ************ ** Start the year off right. Guest guest
Hi Pris! My mom who doesn't have RA, or doesn't take any medications has that happen a couple of times a week. I had my first panic attack in 4th grade and they still haven't stopped. I have a few a day though and have been diagnosed with panic disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. I'm working with a CBT doctor but still am having them. When my mom has this happen to her (waking up from a dream with panic) she usually does some deep breathing, gets some water, and is able to go back to rest. I know they are very scary to have happen!! --- NELLIESTAR@... wrote: > About once a week, before I get up, I have a dream > that turns into a panic > attack. > And, every morning, I wake up with anxiety. > Anyone have that in the early AM, only? > I take Humira, Imuran, pred, Klonapin, Estrogen. > Thanks as always, > Pris > > > > > > > ************** > Start the year off right. Guest guest
Hi, ???? Yes I feel in the morning that I am either filled with fear or panic.? Sometimes my heart races and wakes me up.? I know chronic pain is tough, but a lot of pain and I have nightmares.? If you are subjected to any type of? chronic stress in addition to RA, that from my experience has made my panic and fear?levels much higher. Chronic pain is chronic stress.? Anxiety in my opinion accompanies this disease which is unpredictable. Dawn Re: [ ] Panic Attacks Hi Pris! Guest guest
Did I read in one of the posts that as someone was detoxing they were having extreme difficulty with anxiety? I need to let a friend know who is also detoxing as to whether the panic attacks are related to detox. Thanks
Guest guest
I used to have panic attacks upon exposure to the toxic chemicals. At first the chemicals would trigger my asthma but then later they would actually directly hit my central nervous system and my mitral valve prolapse would be affected making me feel like I was having a heart attack. I went to a phobia clinic for this to no avail as I was really being poisoned, this was not in my mind. I was put on huge amounts of xanax which never helped a bit but later an EI doctor took me off the xanax and put me on GABA which in my case helped. I was going thru some detox (very mild) at this time. The best thing was total avoidance of toxic chemicals of course. I hope this helps someone. It was wretched misery what I went thru for years with them. Keep avoiding toxic chemicals and RUN if you smell any. I guess as the chemicals are being released it could trigger an attack of anxiety but I would personally think was being done wrong as I never had any during my detox times. I can now sweat out chemicals with no reacton but its unpleasant, not scary. Guest guest
Thanks for all the input. I suspected it was a result of detox and not emotionally based since they cropped up all of a sudden with no particular stressors emotionally. Guest guest
Which might appear to be a panic attack might be one's sugar dropping too low while detoxing. This can be dangerous. Try drinking a glass of orange juice and see if it helps. > > Did I read in one of the posts that as someone was detoxing they were > having extreme difficulty with anxiety?
