OK, I was fine with you not remembering Emergency and making the rest of the

group feel old but saying you were only five when Chips, Dukes of Hazards, &

ect... were on air, you are starting to make me feel old!

Hey I remember Knight Rider, Dukes of Hazzard, and Simon and Simon. I

was 5 at the time but my mother used to watch those shows all the time.

I don't remember Emergency but it sounds pretty interesting. I feel a

bond coming on. I wish we could have a group hug.lol.

Doug,

I was influenced by the TV program Emergency, to pursue a career in EMS.

and Roy were my idols and I have tried my best over the years to

perfect the flip. I still attempt to improve myself on the flip. I

also remember the detachable oscilloscope, and for me it will always be

EMD.

I remember breaking amp after amp after amp....and saying a few kind words about

the drug company. My favorite was when the doc ordered another 2 mg during

transport....Now breaking the amps in a moving ambulance!!!! Oh what fun....

Howdy y'all!

Speaking of Johhny and Roy, has anyone ever looked at the sample scantron

sheet in the front of the state exams?

When I was developing them, I included samples filled out by Johhny Gage and

Roy DeSoto. I never did hear from anyone about those. I figured either

nobody saw it or nobody knew who they were.

One other tidbit, ny Gage's name was based on the name of the technical

advisor for the show. Hmmm, does anyone know what that might have been?

Take care,

Jeff

Sometimes it actually feels good to be the old timer. I get to sit back

and watch the young ones starting out and making the same mistakes, having

the same ideas, and making the same suggestions that we had years ago, we

get to see the protocols change and revise and then get changed back to what

they were. We can look at the ems systems and see the laughter of it all.

What is old is new again. (stole that from a song)

Hey Jeff, you wouldn't be referring to the fire chief, magazine

publisher, conference planner, conference speaker, etc. who was also the

technical advisor and something of a name sake for ny Gage?

Dougie, I certainly was influenced by the TV show EMERGENCY. I guess that

shows my age. There are some folks that you and I work with that have no

idea who ny, Roy or Dixie McCall was.

Oh by the way did they have any problems with mail boxes at Rampart?

I noticed that a couple of weeks ago when I took my Instructor exam. I

thought it was funny, but I didn't hear anyone else laughing. Maybe they

were too nervous to notice.
