Sherry, I think your advice is appreciated, and I hope that some of the women will make use of it. I don't think you are being insulted, by the way. You are welcome to come here and share your thoughts, but can we not also share ours regarding what you are saying? You may have it figured out, but why not give us the benefit of also sharing our experiences regarding doctors? There are many of us, and maybe we have done what you said, and it didn't work. I am wondering how we as patients can go to a doctor and make a claim about mold or fungus when, as new patients, we don't even know what is happening to our bodies? I didn't have a clue about mold or fungus when I got sick. What I did as a patient was go to my rheumatologist and TELL HIM what I was experiencing. All I can do is testify to what I experienced. I made no claims other than I

was well before implants, sick after implants, and made the only connection that made sense to me. For this, my physician washed his hands of me. I made no other claims other than I was well before implants, sick after, and my blood work proved it. Yet, he didn't want anything to do with me because I had implants. It is up to the physicians to draw the appropriate conclusions with the information that the patient is presenting. The onus is on them, not the patient, to come up with a diagnosis. Their job is to figure out what is going on, regardless of what a patient claims. The problem with doctors is that they've already made up their mind. They are closed to the idea that implants might be making women ill. I know you want to help us be able to help the physicians, but why do you fault a patient for only speaking what they have

experienced? If someone wants to draw a conclusion that does not seem at first plausible, there is no harm in it...and actually, it is only by talking about our various symptoms that we are able to find commonalities. If my feet hurt, it may not seem to be implant related, but if all the women who had implants have painful feet, then maybe something is there to consider. We need the freedom to do that. Please, don't feel that we are insulting you or your efforts. I think we are just sharing our experiences. Please, just allow us the freedom to speak, as we allow you. It is nice that you are a physician, and we appreciate your work, but we are all equals here. Patty _00_ <5678@...> wrote: I thank everyone who offered information and hospitality. I don't want to be insulted further without even the benefit of anyone recognizing the validity of my advice. When patients are dismissed "as nut cases", it is because they made claims that made no scientific sense. I have explained that most physicians are unaware of the fungus and mold association that does make sense. Claiming to have a list of symptoms that I have heard here - such as prominent veins in the hand - and associating that with the mere presence of implants - without associating the migration and presence of fungus - is a sure way to be dismissed as a nut case. Best wishes for health to all. Sherry

Not in the US, they haven't Sherry. They probably will, but the FDA has still

not approved

them.

This is good advice, Sherry. What doctors SHOULD do and what they DO are

different

things. The more specific we can be, the more factual, without 'emotion' in

describing our

problems, the better chance we have. One thing that I have found helpful is to

write down

specifics so when I go to the doctor, I have it to refer to.

Donna,

That is so very true. I have about zero respect for most plastic surgeons.

Sherry,

E-mail me at auntsisnj@... and I'll give you the

rheumatologist's name again. I don't want to put her name here

without her permission, even though she totally supports the concept

of implant illness.

Also, I think what you're seeing here (the anger with doctors) is

basically venting, I know I didn't go into any of my doctors offices

calling them names or not speaking clearly about my symptoms, and

I'm sure most of us didn't do that either. I was very clear and I

know the history of when various symptoms started. It's just years

of frustration that gets built up and people end up angry. Don't

take it personally, even though you're in the medical profession as

well, it's probably the only place alot of us can go where we can

vent and actually have people understand where it's coming from.
