the reason my dear is asking these questions is................

She's pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so happy for you. My hope and dream is that this baby looks ONLY

like your gorgeous self.

I wish the safest and happiest pregnancy of all.

There are a number of different flavors in the Mountain Glow and I prefer the

lavender and tangerine or the margerita but I am sure the others are good too.

Cigarette moxa worked really well in my labors although I can't say if it helped

the pain, more it moved the labor on - my quickest was 1 hour from first

contraction to birth!! You circle a lit cigarette over specific points - little

toe, the sacrum area and heel points. My labors were all quick and very intense.

In fact I felt that the midwives in the US wanted the babies out as quickly as

possible. I had Natasha in Portugal and the midwife there was wonderful. She

showed me ways to slow the labor down and relax. Actually it was still quick,

2.5 hours but much easier. I also sipped bancha tea with barley malt during the

first stage and didn't really have any transition labor - that was with the last

three babies. I think that made a big difference with the pain. Sometimes shoyu

kuzu can help if the woman is weak and tired.

A little story you might enjoy. I always worried about my labors and each child

did not become easier. When I was pregnant with Natasha, number 6, I rode horses

up until my sixth month. As I got near to my due date, I started to worry about

the labor. Natasha was late and then one night I had a dream that I was being

covered by this lovely warm, dark cloak. It felt so re-assuring that when I woke

up I was no longer afraid. She was born about a week later when all the planets

lined up in Capricorn which was one day in a 1000 years. A few months later I

had a tarot reading and the reader said, 'someone looks after you when you are

in labor.' and I remembered my dream and felt it was true.

Have a beautiful evening

Moxibustion!!! I did it for my tendonitis and never had a problem with it after that! Amazing stuff!

That was a beautiful story! Thank you!

I forgot to say that on the pain front, I think it makes a difference how you

are during your pregnancy. It is important to exercise especially walking and

stretching/yoga. I also think attitude makes a huge difference to both Mum and

baby. It is a time to really enjoy doing things you love and relaxing too. I

wrote a lovely little book called Bless the Baby (on 's or my site) and it

tells of all the natural ways you can bond with your baby during and after

pregnancy - might be somethng you would enjoy.

Labor is all about letting go and opening yourself up (literally). Labor is

probably more painful if your condition is too tight, unrelaxed and holding on

so anything that helps you to feel soothed is great.

Blessings

Before I gave birth to my first son, a friend gave me the most

helpful advice. She said that I should relax, have a glass of wine

(maybe not everybodies' cup of tea, so to speak), and think about

that that pain I am going to experience will have the most beautiful

purpose, that I should embrace it because it will help to bring that

baby into my arms.

ditto with me - the best thing was thinking about why I was going through the labor. I tried water (bigger than a bath, small than a pool) but it didn't really relieve me - but thinking (couldn't do it on my own, had a great midwife) about the baby inside made it all more meaningful and easier. Hit straight into my maternal instincts!!!! Klarasusanneguirakhoo wrote: Before I gave birth to my first son, a friend gave me the most helpful advice. She said that I should relax,

I teach yoga 5x's a week. I do a lot of walking (yes even in this terrible weather). ...and as for attitude I'm trying to be as positive as I can.

I'll look for Bless the Baby! Thank you!

I also had prepared organic oatmeal and chamomile in cheesecloth to clean her..not too hard mind you..but you soaked it first..personally I DO not trust ultrasounds as I feel they move molecules,,I did none of that..no hospital just a blood test to check my blood type..I envy you as my child has set out for adulthood and I'm perimenopausal..lots of bleeding I feel its related to letting go..its a real pleasure to remember her birth thank you
