How did it go?

training underwear. every time i put a pull up on him and try to get

him to go potty it is a big fight. he even goes as far as to sneak

avoiding going poop so when i put his pull up on he goes right

away.  He has gone on the potty a few times now. So im not sure why

Here is the link again, this time copied directly from the page. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/LearningCurveDesigns/files/

I've just redone the Learning Curve Designs list. Now you can download self-extracting zip files for all the Designs, Reports and Media files. They will automatically place the files into a folder in Designs (called TLC Designs), a folder in Reports (called TLC Reports) and sound files in the Media folder.

The Designs, in particular have been pruned and a few added. If you are a member of the group (have purchased the Designs Subscription/QuickStart package), you can go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/learningcurvedesigns/files.

I've attached a file to this email with instructions on how to install. It is also in the Files area on learningcurvedesigns.Pete-- Van Deusenpvdtlc@...

I feel for ya, Jen. I sure hope the shots give you some relief.  You're smart to keep swimming and doing that water exercise. That's excellent exercise.I can't take naproxen either. I took it for a short time almost 30 years ago, and it did a number on my stomach too.

Hang in there!

I went back to the podiatrist because my foot was still swollen and he gave me two more shots along the joint on top of my foot.  It's still swollen (only went down a little) and still hurts a lot.  I haven't tried to wear shoes yet because it's too sore right now.

The naproxen my Dr. prescribed to reduce the swelling caused bleeding in my stomach and/or intestines so he told me to stop using it and to get Prilosec to reduce the acid in my stomach so that it can heal.  WELL, I still have bleeding but now my stomach hurts from the prilosec and after I eat it gets upset.  GEEZ what else can go wrong!?

I'm getting really mad and frustrated because I wanted to start walking again but I can't yet.  The only good news is that at least I can go swimming and

water exercise.FRUSTRATED,                                     Jen

Thanks . My foot still hurts but I'm wearing shoes to try and get it used to it again. The shots helped some but not enough...oh well, I will just have to live with it.

I think I took Naproxen before but it didn't bother me so maybe it was a higher dose or it bothers my stomach now...whatever the reason I'm not taking any more aspirin-based meds again when they bother my stomach that much.

Today I'm cleaning my computer room so that will be my exercise!

I hate naproxen soooooooo much. Icky, seriously bad icky. Just thinking about it makes my stomach hurt... ugh, hate that stuff.

I had to have some cortisone shots in my foot when I was training for the 3-Day... ahhhhh... it took a few rounds of shots but what blessed relief when it finally took. I hope whatever you're getting helps fast, Jen! good luck with all this nonsense!

I have a bunion on both of my feet and when they grow they hurt like heck! My foot where the bunion is and under my toes (on the top of my foot) is swollen and hurts. I got two shots of cortisone like medicine which usually helps but hasn't that much this time and it's still a little swollen. And now I have to heal up my stomach from the meds my Dr. had me take.WAH! I want new feet!!! JenSubject: RE:

Thanks , I don't want any more Naproxen or medicine like that, it's no fun having my stomach bleeding and it hurting/feeling upset! I hope that if my Dr. gives me another shot it will work better this time. I see him on July 16th. Jen

One thing I thought about with the Naproxen is that I needed to eat a ton of food before I took it or I'd be really sick. I could never eat as much food as I needed to get past the feeling awful threshold either, not without stuffing myself and making myself nearly sick that way. ick, yuck, ick. That was 20 years ago I was on that darn med probably for about a year. Ugh.

Hi , I was on it for about a week when I noticed some blood in the toilet and since I don't have periods any more I figured it was from the medicine!' It's strange, I ate it with lunch and dinner and it never upset or hurt my stomach then it all of a sudden caused bleeding, WEIRD! My stomach isn't bleeding any more (that I can see) but will finish the 14 days of Prilosec, just to be sure my stomach has healed. I think my podiatrist may give me another shot since my poor foot STILL hurts and is swollen.... Oh well, I still lost weight this week!!YIPPEE! Jen

Wow, that would be really scary! Good thing you were able to pinpoint the medicine quickly. I hope the Prilosec does the job. I hated getting the shots for my foot but I loved how much better I felt when the shots finally worked. I hope this is it for you! Congrats on the weight loss!

The flexibility in his spine is remarkable. When this all began he was very

" stuck " . His physical therapists and myself were amazed at how quickly he

responded to physical therapy. We really put him through it though. He went

several time a week, and then I worked with him at home at least for an hour and

a half each day. Not all at once of course. But pretty much if he was awake we

worked on stretching, strengthening etc while playing. I could feel the

elasticity in his spine. Before, we would try to " straighten " him out and there

was no " give " . I wish I could show what I mean. Now he goes into a straight

posture very easily and his back actually pops! I know that might sound bad,

but I think it is actually a good thing. From what I know about the body, self

adjustments are essential, my daughter pops when we pick her up sometimes and I

have always thought she was just aligning herself on her own. He still has a

mean slump when he sits up in the stroller or high chair, but the kids looks

great. So even if he ends up needing casting, at least we have bought precious

time for him to learn to crawl and hopefully walk, and not be so young in a

cast. Keeping our fingers crossed:) He is in his helmet and it is really

helping to reshape his " parallelagram (sp?) " shaped head to a nice round one

with eyes and ears lined up. I want to thank you all again. I don't often

chime in, but just reading all of the posts has given me so much knowledge and

empowerment as Wyatt's biggest advocate. Between , Tasha, and all of you

I have learned, and I have been educating. Our ped had never seen this before.

Well he is just a wonderful man who has backed me up 100%, and called me at home

to talk for hours if needed. He is aware now, and wants whatever literature I

can bring to him. All of my friends are being educated as well as family. As a

childbirth educator, doula and massage therapist, this is definitely going to be

a part of my practice forever in education. I would definitely encourage anyone

whose baby is in the same boat as Wyatt is to seek physical therapy because it

helped him to gain strength and mobility that was not there prior. They also

taught me what to do at home, and that made the biggest difference. Even just

day to day. I am hopeful Wyatt will be a self resolver, but even if he isn't I

just wanted to say thanks. I am still reading, still advocating, still praying

for all of your kids. You have all taught me a lot. I will probably only post

when I have updates on Wyatt b/c I have not had the journey so many have, no

real pearls of wisdom other than early detection. So thanks!

Keeping our fingers crossed:) He is in his helmet and it is really helping to reshape his "parallelagram (sp?)" shaped head to a nice round one with eyes and ears lined up. I want to thank you all again. I don't often chime in, but just reading all of the posts has given me

so much knowledge and empowerment as Wyatt's biggest advocate. Between , Tasha, and all of you I have learned, and I have been educating. Our ped had never seen this before. Well he is just a wonderful man who has backed me up 100%, and called me at home to talk for hours if needed. He is aware now, and wants whatever literature I can bring to him. All of my friends are being educated as well as family. As a childbirth educator, doula and massage therapist, this is definitely going to be a part of my practice forever in education. I would definitely encourage anyone whose baby is in the same boat as Wyatt is to seek physical therapy because it helped him to gain strength and mobility that was not there prior. They also taught me what to do at home, and that made the biggest difference. Even just day to day. I am hopeful Wyatt will be a self resolver, but even if he isn't I just wanted to say thanks. I am still reading, still

advocating, still praying for all of your kids. You have all taught me a lot. I will probably only post when I have updates on Wyatt b/c I have not had the journey so many have, no real pearls of wisdom other than early detection. So thanks!

That is great news that Wyatt's curve is resolving :)

Hi everyone,I have been reading all the posts, they are so helpful to get an idea of what may be in store for us down the road. Wyatt turned 6 mos on the 20th, and TCH in Denver gave us a great present. His 30 degree curve is down to 20 degrees. I thought it would be even less from looking at the x-ray that they did 8/10, and am still waiting for SLC to look at it and give their opinion. His appt was cancelled and we'll have another x-ray in the fall to see where things are at. The flexibility in his spine is remarkable. When this all began he was very "stuck". His physical therapists and myself were amazed at how quickly he responded to physical therapy. We really put him through it though. He went several time a week, and then I worked with him at home at least for an hour and a half each day. Not all at once of course. But pretty much if he was awake we worked on stretching, strengthening etc while playing. I could feel the elasticity in his

spine. Before, we would try to "straighten" him out and there was no "give". I wish I could show what I mean. Now he goes into a straight posture very easily and his back actually pops! I know that might sound bad, but I think it is actually a good thing. From what I know about the body, self adjustments are essential, my daughter pops when we pick her up sometimes and I have always thought she was just aligning herself on her own. He still has a mean slump when he sits up in the stroller or high chair, but the kids looks great. So even if he ends up needing casting, at least we have bought precious time for him to learn to crawl and hopefully walk, and not be so young in a cast. That is so Great!!! I will be praying for you as well, that Wyatt is one of those "self-resolvers" and I think it's great that you are sharing your experiences and spreading awareness. MUCH MUCH LUCK to you!- Noelle's mommy, 2 1/2 years old and in 8th cast from Rochester NY, reflux, mild plagiocephaly, mild torticollos, hypotonia, ligament laxity, suspected Ehler's Danlos III

--- Hi

You asked a few questions some time ago.

I'm not sure if it is common for scoliosis patients to have ribs on her left front protruding, i know that my rib hump protrudes at the back and is getting very sore.

I have recently been to a pain clinic and they recommended memory foam for my back as the rib hump is protruding. I have previously been using sprilon spray which my partner has been putting on my back when its sore.

The pain clinic are now considering doing me a jacket, I am seeing them soon.

I hope things are OK for now.

Take care

Liz

Hope you are OK.

Today Graham came with me to the appliances at West Suffolk Hospital about some type of support for my back to stop my rib hump rubbing. I am going back in a few weeks to have a mould made to have some type of support under my clothes, not sure if it will work, will see how it goes.

I look forward to your comments

Liz
