overwhelmed w/ mail, but I just can't bring myself to do it! I figure I can

,

Absolutely! That is the spirit! I feel like I annoy a lot of people that

way. People that come around me, in person, always say that no one could

ever tell that I was going through a crisis at any time because there is

always a smile on my face and never any sadness in my eyes. That one really

shocked me but I found out it is so true about me. My family is the same

way, they learned from me I guess. They tell me all the time, that when the

chips are down, I make everyone smile and forget what we can't change and

follow them around to change what we can. LOL Makes me feel like a pest LOL

But after taking a closer look at myself these past couple of years, I

found it to be true. Basically, if I am really down, I mean really feeling

like giving up, you will never see it in my actions, words or face, you will

only see it in my writing. Isn't that one weird. I guess I will type out

my fears but I will not show them to anyone. I never want to burden people,

I feel I am here to make them happy and help them, not show my fears to them

I am a weird one huh? LOL Nola

LOLOLOL - I love that quote Nola! There was a girl named Jacqui that I knew

when I lived in Texas. She was the MOST cheerful and positive person I had

ever known. She irritated everybody!!! But I realized that she was " living

her

life outloud " . Something I've always wanted to do. I tried to learn from

her (but not be so extreme as she was). She was always happy and never had

a

bad day. I soon figured out that she just didn't show it when she had a bad

day

- after becoming pretty good friends with her I saw that she had lots of

problems in her life - she had just overcome her circumstances. Instead of

being

annoyed, everyone could have really learned a lot from her.

Maybe I can annoy some people today with my positive attitude!! LOL

, it seems so long ago that we went through all that together.

Remember when you first signed up on this group? That was the day we made a

great bond with each other and I have to say, you have come a long way girl

since then. I am really proud of you for sticking it all out, practicing

your affirmations and fighting though all the negativity that surrounded us

then. You are quite the role model. Nola

Yep Risa - Nola and I both (and I'm sure there's bunches others on

this list) have " struggled for existence against the winds and rains

and scorching sun. " This past summer was the hardest of my entire

life financially. Nola and I spent countless hours together on this

old computer - she was truly a great source of strength! I'm still

struggling, although things are a teeny bit better now. I know " this

too will pass away " .

There are still times when I just can't make it through a whole day -

feel like I can't even make it through one hour - so I take it a

minute at a time. I always make it!!!

Affirmations, for me, were a source of HOPE and a way to keep my

focus far from the really negative stuff and on the positive. I

would read, write, repeat repeat repeat affirmations over and over

until they were ingrained in my mind.

We will all make it - the going may be tough, but so are we!!!

Hugs,

Just so everyone know. I called church in my area and left my cell # and nola's

email address. Now everything is in the Lord's hand. Nola had to reach out

before additional help could come. We never know what is available until we ask.

Believe me, today has helped me much more than her. ine

I agree with C-M, this is life threatening. Does the doctor's office understand that you are having severe problems NOW?

You may have to be pushy and tell them if they can't get you in NOW, ask if they cam recommend another doctor not quite so busy and can see you NOW?

ER is not a bad suggestion. I hate going there, but learned that when an asthma attack is bad and a person has done the medications (inhalers, nebulizer or whatever) and they start to feel better....that doesn't mean it is better, it may mean that you are on the way out...dying. This was explained to me in ER last time I was in. I got to the ER and thought maybe I was better and shouldn't be there but at that point they weren't going to let me go. Seems I had less oxygen in me than I thought. You get a sense of feeling better during a bad attack so you don't do anything about it, when actually you are suffocating and your lungs are loosing more oxygen and getting in the carbon stuff (Of which I can never remember the name). It makes you feel better. Just like dying from carbon monoxide in your car when a person takes their own life.

After finding that out, it scared the shit out of me. AND the peak flow meters aren't a good sense of how good or bad my asthma is. I run in the red all the time, yet I can still move and breathe, not good, but I breathe. Never have I gotten up to 40% use of my lungs, yet I am not disabled per Medicare.

GET HELP NOW. I think the tingling is lack of oxygen through out the body. DO you cough and nearly black out or see gray? IF SO...Go directly to the hospital!!!! AS the tingling gets worse, things get numb. Believe me lungs can paralyze. You won't like it IF you can get medical help in time. Waking up with a machine breathing for you and tubes stuck down your throat is not pleasant.

Been there, ignored it and nearly died. Believe me I have tired all the tricks to keep from going to ER and each time I find I nearly am dead by the time I think I am in trouble.

If you can't drive or don't trust your driving call 9-1-1. I take it you are not on oxygen therapy now?

, there are easier less stressful ways to take your own life, this is not the way to do it. AND don't worry about $$, thinks will work out if that is what is keeping you from the ER.

Has anyone else experienced this?

The last few weeks my asthma has been really bad. Typically when it gets bad my hands will get really tingly. Lately the tingling spreads throughout my hands, chest, face and legs. then it turns numb. It is a few hours before sensation returns. My highest PFTs in the last several months are only in the low 40% range. I don't even want to think about what they must hit when this is happening. I also get severely SOB and am gasping for air after every word when I am trying to talk. I know my asthma is out of control and have a pulmonologist appt. scheduled but three weeks is the closest they could get me in. Does anyone have any ideas on how to stop the tingling and numbness? It is quite uncomfortable and is a bit scary too. Thanks.
