I agree some women may not get ill. However, I also believe because I had

implants for over 9 years, the longer you have them, even if not suseptable

to auto immnue illness genetically, the higher your chances of becoming

immune weakened you become. Perhaps the breakdown deteriation of the implant

shell, releasing of chemicals and infections. We have no auto immune illness

in my family, whatsoever. And I became quite ill. I also recovered quite

well, even suprisingly to me. Still nonoe in my family has auto immnue

thyroid disease or celiac disease, as me and my son born while implanted do

(he has celiac, as I do-thank God not thyroid) Its uncanny.

Rogene and Kendra ... you are right on.

I'm going to start a thread on HLA (a type of anti-body)research

that was done ... indicated a definite connection ... and then we

never heard of it again. Instead ... Leroy Young (excuse me while I

spit a bit) got his new " safe " implant ... filled with soybean oil

on the market and into around 10,000 innocent victims.

The oil went rancid ... the women got sick ... and all had to be

explanted. Horror stories abound. They exported that little

experiment to our British sisters ...

Anyway ... his study on HLA never even gets a mention ... though

I've been keeping it on the newsgroup for years.

I believe there's some genetic dispositions that must be studied ...

when a PS says a woman is a a " good candidate " ... it should mean

more than she can afford her first surgery!

Hi ,

I decided not to get implants after joining this list last week. So I don't

have any implant-related illnesses. I had fibromyalgia 10 years ago, for 5

years. I cleaned up my diet and began treating with an ND and was " well "

within a few months. After lots of lab work, we discovered that my

liver/detox pathways were not working properly. He prescribed supplements

to help the pathways and to help with other health issues I had at the time.

For the past 5 years I have been very healthy.

I also have hypothyroid and use Westhroid. I have never had any problems

regulating the level. What is hashimotos? I have heard of it but know the

difference between it and regular thyroid problems. A lot of your problems

sound thyroid related. I know dry skin and losing of hair are.

I am 44 and have had hormone problems for years. We have had a heck of a

time getting my hormones balanced. Initially I had low progesterone which

when treated quickly became too high. We worked for two years to get the

level back down to normal. Then my DHEA and testosterone levels were low.

Now my DHEA and testosterone levels are normal but the progesterone is high

again! We cut back my progesterone this month and will retest in a couple

more months. Dr. Leu told me that imbalanced hormones can cause fibro-like

symptoms. Could this be one of your problems?

As for being flat chested, I have seen some very beautiful, confident women

who are flat as a board. Their chests looked beautiful on them. I looked

at them with envy, wondering how they could be so beautiful while being

totally flat. It was their acceptance of their own bodies that made them so

beautiful. I have come terms with my small chest this week. I feel like

someone saved my life, and my breasts. Small, healthy breasts are

beautiful. We have lost sight of that. You will be beautiful with small

breasts because your beauty isn't in your breasts, it's in the person that

you are.

If your tinctures are alcohol based, it could be that your body didn't do

well with the alcohol. Also, homeopathic different tinctures taken together

can create terrible reactions. If a homeopath isn't extremely knowledgeable

about combining tinctures, trouble can happen -- it happened to me. I now

take all herbal supplements and no alcohol-based tinctures. I had a

combination of tinctures create a gallbladder problem when I didn't have one

to begin with.

It seems to me that when the immune system is down, it sets the body up for

all kinds of different problems. I always felt that all of my health

problems were interrelated. I was so relieved to hear Dr. Leu agree. The

best thing you can do is to strengthen your immune system and start a detox

program. There are different detox pathways so detoxing one, may not be

sufficient. I am not knowledgeable on how to detox all pathways. I know

two of mine were bad and we detoxed them. I used a product called Detox One

and Two and later AdvaClear.

I had a virus this winter and didn't seem to completely kick it. Dr. Leu

prescribed an immune booster which he regularly prescribes for cancer

patients. I felt immediately better. It is called Im-Kine. I also took a

powder called SF-10 and is arabinoglactan. Really, a lot of you with

depressed immune systems might benefit from both of these supplements.

Check out myhealthfirst.com. I know they carry some of these supplements

and they have very reasonable prices. Remember that detoxing and

strengthing a weak immune system take time, probably months. Be patient

with your body while it tries to heal itself. A good diet is very helpful,

as is lots of water and whatever exercise you are physically up for.

I had this same conversation with my mom yesterday. My sister has had her

silicones 10 years, my aunt has had hers over 30! I believe their health is

in greater risk the longer they keep the implants.

My 12-year old daughter is a celiac too, I am not.

the connection between their implants and their health

or cognitive problems is another issue. Symptoms can

come on slowly, along with an inability to reason

well. Usually doctors can convince them it's part of

the aging process. Bad news!

There are so many women sick, you would think that

someone would be interested in studying those of us

who are sick and finding out what's going on.

So far, I haven't heard of a single study of this

type! They prefer to group women who've had their

implants a very short time (months) with a group who

have had their implants a longer time (never a LONG

time). Then, when a woman has her implants removed,

she is dropped from the study! . . . No follow-up to

see what happened to her healthwise.

Strange, isn't it?

Good news this morning, girls!

Dr. Melmed’s response to me this morning after a dialogue back and forth regarding him appearing on Oprah:

I am always open to suggestions. So if you REALLY think that explaining the " other side " of implants is worth it, I would be available.

My response back to him:

Thank you! The women on the list are in so much pain and aren’t being heard. I was spared the pain by you and them. I really do think you would give the “other side” credibility because you have done so many explantations and have seen women’s health improve.

One thing that has been discussed on the list is whether or not a positive ANA prior to implantation predisposes one to problems with implants. What do you think? I had a positive speckled ANA 10 and 12 years ago but it is normal today. I had fibromyalgia and a host of other “diseases”. Five years ago I started treating with a naturopath, cleaned up my diet — which for an American wasn’t bad at all, started eating organic when possible and started detoxing. For the past five years I have been well. Genetic testing with my ND shows that I am very inflammatory. I also have Chronic Fatigue but feel fine. As an experiment it would have been fun to see if I reacted to the implants. I’d bet money that I would have. Certainly not worth risking my health.

How many explantations do you think you have done? How long have you been practicing? Tell me everything I ought to know so I can compile a letter to Oprah.

Yes, maybe if everyone in this group would write to her telling of

their horrible experiences with implants. I wrote to her but haven't heard anything. It is tough to really get your point across because you are limited to 2000 words which really isn't enough. I think it was enough to let her know that it was a terrible experience for me.

What I would suggest doing is proposing an entire show to her instead of everyone writing individually. If everyone can give me info, I would be willing to compile it and write the show.

The ideal would be for Dr B to tell his story with the rest of us

scattered in the audience to back him up ..

We will see .. she will run the story in my mind .. it is just a

question of when ... I shall update her yearly until she bites .. Dr

B really deserves a Nobel prize .. she cannot ignore that for too

long. Granted a leap of faith is still required but that leap is not

by anymeans the jump it used to be.

I e-mailed Oprah. I told her how LDN had helped me, and I also mentioned the potential for help with AIDS patients, a subject close to her heart. I mentioned that since the patent has run out that there is no potential for BIG PROFITS! Also, I mentioned that it is inexpensive.

- If you could get Oprah to present this information to the masses, this is truly all we need to get legitimized into main stream medicine. LDN is an amazing "inexpensive" treatment for the hundreds that have been fortunate enough to find it! It seems that anything Oprah speaks about becomes an over night sensation. Anyone have any links for Bullock whereby we could send our stories

to her? All it takes is one celebrity making the talk show rounds with the

mold issue.......My best guess for Oprah is that she aint willing to risk

being sued by the building industry now.........However, Monticito, California

where Oprahs home was built is having a serious problem with toxic mold. Of

course it is hard to name any city now where buildings are not affected.

Just wondering, what would Bullock in perticullar have to do with any of

this? Or is she just a random choice?

Also I wonder why Opera would not make an issue out of this if she is haveing

problems with it herself????
