What great news!   Over the years I have participated in the forum I have

heard people who took a while to reach this milestone were called " turtles " .

Here is to one of my favorite turtles who is always sticking her neck to help

and inform others.

Congratulations!

much trouble. Now there is a project, printing Zero numbers on T-shirts. Zavie

has his on his cap and he's never without it, but I don't look so good in a hat.

LOL Just wanted to share my good news, I waited 14.5 years to claim it and

announce it.

Dear Lottie,

Well, I read every post daily and have not said much but I couldn't let this

moment pass me by! WOW! Congratulations and what a GREAT way to close out

2009!

This is just GREAT news and I am sure Zavie has already got a truckload of

stardust to sprinkle! I'll bring a bucket or two myself!

Dear Sue,

Have to go easy on the champagne. I had some pink bubbly at my son's the

other night. I felt like celebrating for no reason and then I got the email.

You are right it is a good feeling and like a rite of passage because now I

belong to Zavie's Club. He will be sending me my number when his computer is

fixed. For the time being, we can talk on Skype. He is keeping the number

secret until he reveals it to everyone. LOL

This is like a coveted award and has done more to raise moral than anything

I have seen in a long time, like being given Zavie's . You feel like you

have achieved something. I don't feel like I have done anything on my own, it's

all a concerted effort by everyone buoying everyone else up, even when they are

down.

Hands & hearts, old friend,

Lottie

O!!! YIPPEEE!!!

Number 1000 in the Zero Club

Zavie

Another TURTLE crosses the finnish line.

The message is: Never Give Up. The TKI SKI-606 is the one that did it for

her.

It was a thrill to meet Lottie and Jimmy at ASH in early December. We had

the best time. Check out the photos of this intimate gathering at ASH on the

website. The patients were represented by Lottie, Giora, Jan and

myself. Epstein and Harout Semerjian were there from Novartis. Pat

- and Schwartz from the Max Foundation. Our CML expert,

Dr. Moishe Talpaz from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and our

caregiver supreme, Jimmy Duthu from New Orleans..

Sorry for taking so long to post. I finally got my send email problem fixed.

Wanted to chime in and again congratulate Lottie on this great news.

I enjoyed meeting you, Giora, Jan, Pat and , Drs Talpaz, Mauro, Shah and

others at ASH as well. I hate I didn't get to join you that afternoon. As you

know and others, I am still in this CML fight with you all. CML effects the

entire family unit and I, along with everyone here wants to see great strides

made in this community.

I am excited about all the things coming about this year and look forward to

seeing you again soon.

Dear Lottie--

See, if you wait long enough you do get the BIG rewards! Congratulations. I

have been lurking but just ran across your post. Sorry to be so slow in

congratulating you. Nobody deserves it more!

I am working on zero myself--I slipped a bit, and now I'm back at 0. So that's

good. I don't have my Zavie Club number yet, either--I am not even sure when I

officially went to Zero status. My doctor has been very low-key about that sort

of thing. She thinks it reflects badly on her to even admit I have leukemia, I

think!

Again, big huge hugs and congratulations on the marvelous news! Oh, yes, and

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Hope your holidays were marvelous.

You are a blessing to us all.

Great news, Lottie

I am a little slow in reading my emails, but I am very happy

for you. I have not been in the group very long, but feel I am

getting to know you all. My husband is the one with CML, but as you

know, this disease does not effect just the patient. I am the

emailer in the family. I am so appreciative for all the information

you send our way. You are a wealth of information. Zavie gave you a

nice round number, full of ZEROs. God bless and keep you.

Hi ,

Yes I was keeping this number for a special person. I didn't know who, but

Lottie certainly filled the bill.

In the early days when I first started STI571 everyone gave me HOPE when

they achieved CCR.

Lottie has given all the CML Turtles this same HOPE.

When I asked Lottie what number she would like to have, she said 1000. At

the time I told her that the next number in the CML Zero Club would be 1293

knowing full well that number 1000 had not yet been assigned. It was my

surprise and my gift to her.

I just opened my emails late this afternoon and found one from MDACC.

20 out of 20 normal diploids was the message. O.K. Zavie, now you can get

your megaphone out and I want my number sprinkled with stardust if that is

not too much trouble. Now there is a project, printing Zero numbers on

T-shirts. Zavie has his on his cap and he's never without it, but I don't

look so good in a hat. LOL Just wanted to share my good news, I waited 14.5

years to claim it and announce it.

Lottie is very worthy of that precious number!!! I'm glad you got to meet her

and Jimmie. They are an inspiration to us all.

How do I get to the pictures on the site? I would love to see them.

I purchased a webcam so maybe I can get myself to stay up a little later on

Tuesdays and join  the Tuesday chats. :)

God's Blessings,

Jackie S.
