Guest guest
Hi , My name is Teri. I know what you mean about the dinner time and leftover problem. Sometimes it seems that I can't stop eating from the time I walk in the door!!!! Yikes!!! My husband leaves for his second job around 8 and that's the time I put the boys to sleep. This was usually the time I would REWARD myself with a bowl of ice cream or cookies! But is that REALLY a reward for my body? Nooooo way! I haven't been doing that any more. Now I have a cup of tea and turn on the computer or chat on the phone with my cousin. Where do you live??? I live in California's Central Valley. By the way, I'm currently on podcast #15. I just started a couple of weeks ago and only listen while I'm on the treadmill. It's a way to motivate me to exercise because I love Rene so much. A couple of years ago, I went to a spiritual weight loss coach, similar to Rene and she helped me immensely. However, she was also quite expensive. Talk to you soon. Guest guest
Teri, Yes I bet your house is quiet when your husband leaves and the kids go to bed. My husband and kids disappear to their video games around the same time. My boys are 12 and 14 so they go to bed later. I seem to want " just one more glass of wine " around that time. I started journaling today about my triggers. Here's a good one... if Matt's breakfast burrito had extra eggs falling out one side lol, I wanted to eat it! Getting much better tho! I live in Chicago. Cold and rainy week. Hot tea sounds like a good idea. Something mild though, maybe green tea... Thanks for the idea > > > > Hi all, > > > > I'm new to this group and very excited to be on this journey with you. I'm looking for someone to buddy up with while listening to 's weekly podcasts. Guest guest
Hi , Chicago, yikes, you must be freezing! I just checked our thermostat and I was going to up the heater at 69 degrees. What wimps, those Californian's you say.......I don't know about you, but since I started this group, I've been getting lots of emails. It's been great, but I really don't know how to respond to them all. It would be great if we could set up in 3-4 person groups....I don't know, I've never done this. I would like to, however, weight myself every week and report that number to someone. Maybe we could do it at the same time and report to each other. Some people don't like disclosing that private information, but not me. I like putting it out on the table so I HAVE to be accountable.  What do you think?? Or maybe we could share our hunger journal or whatever you could think of........ I just know that talking to someone else about this really helps and I will make my goal. Just to let you know, I'm 5'4 and weight about 170. I haven't checked it in a couple of weeks. But I should weigh about 140, according to body fat/weight charts. That's a lot of poundage to lose!!!!!!!!! I currently am on blood pressure medication. I think it's because of the job, I work as an Accountant for the City that I live and it is very demanding of my time and energy for about 6 months out of the year. We're winding down off our audit season right now and with tons of budget cuts, I'm on furlough all next week and two weeks at Christmas.   I can't wait!!!!!!!!! Well, let me know what you want to do about setting goals or how we can help each other. Take care, Teri aka three2bloved ________________________________ From: lceinski <lceinski@...> weightloss Sent: Thu, November 19, 2009 5:39:22 AM Subject: Re: new member ..  Teri, Yes I bet your house is quiet when your husband leaves and the kids go to bed. Guest guest
OMG, the meltdowns! No fun. My son is pretty free and easy with the " I'll just kill myself " comments too but he says he doesn't actually want to do it. Still, pretty alarming for a parent to hear. His therapist talked to him about such powerful words and how adults react to them, etc. I just wish he wouldn't get so worked up and frustrated in the first place before he " freaks out " . Laurel PS, yes, I'd love to hear about autism therapy dogs too! Our dog is very loving, but completely useless. Guest guest
h what a wonderful gift to give to yourself. You are 20, don't have a weight problem but are motivated to eat healthy foods in reasonable amounts to ensure that you continue to feel fantastic and to ensure that you won't have a problem in the future. Â Way to go! Â From: mariah.zahnter <mariah.zahnter@...> Subject: New member weightloss Date: Wednesday, June 23, 2010, 10:35 PM Â Hello My name is h and I am getting ready to be 20 and I have been listening to 's podcasts for a while now and they have really helped and made perfect sense. I'm not really over weight but I am looking to be happy and comfortable in my skin and be motivated to be the best I can be. I have also been using a site called sparkpeople for a while too and just started getting involved with the community aspect of it and it has really helped me. It is an awesome site that has a lot of support and is totally free. I have currently switched to organic foods and am trying to learn to appreciate foods in their whole and unprocessed forms and it has been about three weeks and I am loving it. I don't have to count calories and a lot of my cravings for bad foods have been starting to go away. I have been making process one step at a time and with a lot of help from the Inside out Weightloss program as well. I am almost fully aligned and I feel that becoming a part of this support group will help me to keep on reaching my goals. I wish everyone the best on meeting their future goals and I hope to help others on my journey to acceptance as well. -mariah
Guest guest
There is a Facebook page, but not very active. You started two weeks ago and you're half way through? I can only listen to one a day. I need time to let each lesson sink in. You can't expect 100% change in two weeks. Start slow. Pick out one behavior or one trigger situation you'd like to change. Small steps. Welcome to the journey!!! Patti On Aug 6, 2010 1:19 PM, " MommaD " <rottzilla2@...> wrote: Hey all, I'm new here. I've forgiven myself for the past and am just trying to make each day better than the one before. I'm ready to be naturally and easily slim, fit and healthy... only one thing. Guest guest
I hate to exercise in the morning. I do it, because others are expecting to me show up.. but otherwise, I hate it! What time of day would be better for you? If you don't have any other time to workout, you might have to suck it up, but start small! Are there activities you enjoy? How about random acts of fitness? Loud music and vacuum with gusto? Wash walls to break a sweat? It's all good. HCG as in Beta-HCG? There's a DIET for that?! I just googled it. Wow. I hope you stopped! Yes, HCG is a hormone produced when pregnant, but it's also a tumour marker.. which means it's not something you ever want in your body that isn't naturally produced.. Good luck and welcome! Guest guest
Hi, Loving the gym is a difficult thing to do. What I love most about going to the gym, is the end of the work out. I always feel great once the work out is done (I think its that whole endorphins thing). As hard as I try, I can't seem to ever get up early enough in the morning to go to the gym, but I think one of the biggest benefits to it you have that 'exercise high' and it really sets the tone for the day. Since you're feeling so good in the morning, you have the reason for why you shouldn't go for those mini-reeces and kisses. One thing I've enjoyed at the gym is the rower. I just close my eyes and imagine myself rowing in a lake or if I'm working out with a friend, we race to hit the goal first, which is fun, and everyone looks at you like you're crazy. Keep in mind though that a workout doesn't always have to involve the gym. Some locations hold morning bootcamps, which are fun depending on the group and the instructor. You could mix it up; go to the gym three days a week and do a yoga or kickboxing class for the 4th day (depending on how much you want to work out). Hope this helps! Elise > > Hey all, I'm new here. While I made some positive changes (YAY ME!), I still hit the candy jar in my coworker's office FAR too much. About 6 mini Reese and about a dozen kisses today, for example. > > I kind of have a " why not " attitude, and " I always think I have the strength to put them in my top drawer and only eat one occasionally, but then I wind up binging and eating them all in one sitting. I'm ready to be naturally and easily slim, fit and healthy... only one thing. > > Can someone help me love exercise? Guest guest
I am just listening to a middle episode today ( I listen to these as I work, and then focus on 1-2 a week at home). But one things she is talking about is predictability and structure---that helps, your body gets used to it. Your body gets used to the good and the not so good- it is used to eating all the candy in the drawer, because it is there- I weaned myself off of this one with gum, and have weaned myself off the gum recently as well. In Eat Pray Love EG mentioned that her guru also told her not to let herself fall apart too much, bc we get used to falling apart. Also I think listen to your body- I used to get up at 4:30 am to go to the gym, and i felt great until about 3pm, and then I would crash hard. I was making my body do something that went against my rhythm- so now I do yoga or gym in the evening after work (motivate to the gym by making dates with a friend, yoga at home has not bee difficult- but I did buy some great music from itunes to help motivate that as well). I had a little saying that has kept me coming back to trying over the years (goodness knows I have a lot to do yet!): Begin as you mean to go on. Keep starting---it is allowed!
