Brad,

Each fall back is an opportunity for a greater victory! You can do it! I

always find it helpful to look at transformation pics to get myself inspired

and motivated. Each time you stop the program, you validate your own belief

that you can't finish the program....this time, disprove your own beliefs.

You won't believe how good you'll feel at the end , and that'll just be the

beginning of your victories. Just remember, it's your perseverance that

counts more than anything! :-) Good luck,

Hi Brad,

Join the club. :) I can't even begin to count how many diet and/or exercise

programs I've started then quit. I've been pretty overweight almost all of my

adult life and losing the battle of the bulge until finding BFL. BFL is the

only program I've been able to stay on for longer than 2 weeks. I've had my

good and bad days, as we all do, but when I have a bad day, I forgive myself and

get back on track. The analogy I like to use is if you are headed somewhere in

your car and you take a wrong turn, do you keep going in the wrong direction or

do you get back on the right road til you get where you want to be? :)

BFL isn't just a change of diet or exercise, it is truly a change of life. For

the first time in my life, I feel worthwhile. I've begun to feel good about

myself, and it shows in the way I hold my head up when I walk, the spring I have

in my step and the smile that I have on my face most of the time now. What BFL

has done for me is nothing short of miraculous. A few short years ago, I was

contemplating suicide because I was so unhappy with myself for such a long time.

I couldn't even think about considering it now, I have too much to live for. I

still have a long way to go physically, but I'll get there. :)

If you stumble, count on us to help you steady your feet and hold you up til you

find your step again. If you need encouragement, support, a shoulder to cry on,

someone to listen to how frustrated you feel sometimes, give one of us a shout.

I, for one, am always available if anyone wants or needs to talk to someone.

Anyone should feel free to private message me if they feel like it. I haven't

been here as long as some of the others, but I've got pretty good shoulders to

lean on. <hugs>

Yes Tina!! You are a precious person, and you have MUCH to live for :) I for one am glad that you did not end your life, and that we had the chance to meet and share bits and pieces of our lives thru this list :)

Brad, I too am available, as Im sure many others on this list are, if you need to talk one on one........ we are all here in the same boat...at many different levels, shapes and forms, but nonetheless we are ALL doing the same thing, making life long changes! WooHoo!!

Hi Brad, and welcome! I started and quit BFL three times before it

finally " stuck. " That doesn't count the endless number of other diets

that I have been on since my mother put me on my first diet at the

ripe old age of eight (and I wasn't even chubby then).

The difference for me was really sitting down and answering those

questions from the BFL book. I refer to sections on Crossing the

Abyss and Focusing Your Future Vision. If you haven't done so

already, sit down and answer those questions. They made a world of

difference for me.

Brad, you need to build a stronger foundation for success than you have in the past. Go through the steps in crossing the abyss to help you do this. Come to us when you need support and encouragement or have questions and regularly check in with how you are doing. All the best! Kit

Hi !! This is a great support group, and I think it helps tremendously to be a part of a support system...... turning your life around and changing old habits to new and GOOD habits is a hard thing to do, especially on your own. Only you have control over what you eat, and how you work out, but it sure is encouraging and helpful to go thru it with others who are experiencing the same thing!

I pray that you keep going forward, and take joy in knowing that you are changing your life for the better, both inside and out ....even if you cannot see it happening as quickly as you would like :)~~

Hey Simon!!!!

GREAT to see you here! You were quick!

I'll be interested to hear other people's responses on those " love

bites " -hope they don't appear on your neck anytime soon! :-) As for your

meals, one thing that I found helpful was to cut dinner in half....have a

smaller dinner and then a smaller snack before bed.

Good luck, and look forward to hearing more about the awesome progress that

you've already made! :-)

Welcome, Simon! You have joined a great group with a wealth of info! These

guys (and gals) can answer every thing! I am still a newbie at this and

don't have all the answers but I think once you are on the program for a

week you will see for yourself that five meals will not do ya! You will be

hungry! Try your hardest to fit six in. I do have those days where for

some reason or another seem to forget my fourth meal and always remember

about 30 minutes before my fifth meal. And those days I am so hungry! And

don't have any type of progress either. If you are finding it hard because

of work, try the already made shakes or bars. They are great when I am on

the run!

Simon, I don't know about the vessels. Are you lifting in good form with a relatively slow tempo? 2 count up 4 count down. 6 is better than 5 although 5 will work. You can eat 90 minutes after finishing a meal if that is all that time allows. What about another meal after dinner? If you decide to stay with 5 then you need to add to your meals accordingly to make up for the meal you dropped. Kit

I too have quite a bit to get rid of.....but Im looking at it from the standpoint of the rest of my life, not the 12-24 weeks it takes to get it off :) Im also looking at it as rebuilding my body......I want muscle again, and by goodness Im going to get it!! LOL Blessings , you will meet your goals!

I tried this program once before and failed... this

time I am doing everything to make sure I have the

support I need to make it through. Not to mention, I

don't plan on having any surgeries this round... that

has to help. :)

Hi ! Welcome and good luck on your challenge. Lots of people

(including myself) have made a few tries before finishing a 12-week

challenge. It took me 3 times before I finished one last fall, and I

can't tell you how unbelievably empowering just *finishing* the 12

weeks through to the end made me feel. I have had a few slips on the

program since then, but always get right back up on the horse. What

matters is the big picture, so stay focused and keep at it. You will

be so glad you did!!
