Guest guest
But I guess you can't cure an eating disorder over night. I have seen major improvements since starting Tae-Bo. I am making progress, I guess that is what matters =) You have done so much on sheer will and excercise. You should be proud of yourself. OK, you may think I'm off my rocker, but have you read Dr. Atkin's book? I've heard all sorts of rumors that it's a high-fat junk food diet, but then I found out two of my freinds are on the Atkins diet. These are two people who take eating sensibly very seriously and would never jepoardize their health just to be slim. So I read the book and I was very surprised. He says that eating disorders are not a psycological or behavior problem, but a medical problem that is insulin induced. His low carb diet levels the insulin reaction to foods and eliminates the insulin-induced eating disorder. Something to investigate, maybe. Guest guest
, I am glad that you are back on track. I know all too well how hard it is to let things balloon out of control and swallow you whole. I myself was depressed tonight after doing my monthly measurements. Absolutely no decreases anywhere. Of course, I knew that I have had some bad eating this month, and I should probably start doing tae-bo more often. It's just that I have done tae-bo for 4 months now, and even though I have had good results, I want better. I know that my body did not get this way overnight and that it is going to take time, but I was pretty much all set to go through the cupboards & refrigerator scrounging for something to make myself feel better. In fact, I did look in the cupboards and saw nothing overly tempting (luckily). At the last second I decided instead to go online for egroups. I am glad I did - your post made me reconsider binging. I am still full from dinner, but I still would have done it anyway. You and have inspired me by how far you both have come. We all have setbacks - I am glad to know that you were able to get it under control. I know you are disappointed about what happened, but don't beat yourself up about it. You have made awesome progress and inspire so many. Take care, we'll get there one day at a time. --G agaw1257-@... wrote: original article:tae-bo_on/?start=14963 > I am not sure if you guys knew this but I have had a tough couple of days. Guest guest
Hey , to make you feel a little better about those doughnuts, I have to share this story. Three of my co-workers went on some store visits one day for work and decided to buy 2 dozen doughnuts from Krispy Kreme (yum)after they had already eaten lunch - together they came close to polishing them off. One guy polished off a dozen himself. So, it may have been more doughnuts than you would have liked to admit to, but at least it wasn't a dozen. It could have been worse. And sometimes admitting those things help us from doing it again. One thing I have learned is that this list is so supportive and really here for you. Hang in there and see yourself through the eyes of the people on this list (the same people who want you to run for president as the official candidate of the tae-bo party!!!) --G agaw1257-@... wrote: original article:tae-bo_on/?start=14976 > In a message dated 3/20/00 11:18:51 AM Eastern Standard Time, > GalofGOP@... writes: > > << Yesterday I had a PB & J for breakfast, Lunch was two slices of pizza (I did > take all the meat, olives and some cheese off) and dinner was <;_(> a shared > awesome blossom appetizer at Chili's (my favorite) a salad and ahalf a plate > of lettuce wraps (I love those too) and a Calypso Cooler (another Fave) > > Then I also had a serving of pineapple and a whole package of sun dried > tomatoes. > > I think probably the big unhealthy choices were the drink and the > appetizer....but I had a large quantity of the healthy stuff while I was at > it. >> > > Hey , > It doesn't sound like you ate that much to me! I think what you said about your body not getting this way overnight is very important. All of us have a different journey and will have different results. Everybody always asks me how long I have been doing Tae-Bo, and I can never give a definitive answer because I have been so " on-again/off-again " with it due to my illness and lack of motivation. I, too, was concerned about not having any results, but if I am going to be honest with myself, I wasn't eating very well, and I was doing Tae-Bo an average of once or twice a week. It sounds like you are looking at those things too. I still haven't had any major results that are visible, but I can feel my body changing, particularly my muscles. What is different for me now is that I am focusing on what I eat and working out consistently, but that is not even the biggest difference. The biggest difference is that now, I HAVE FAITH that my body will change and the time for my results to change will come. I don't need to see the results now to believe that, whereas I did before. I don't know how my attitude changed, but it did, and I am grateful. I hope it will change for you too, because it's a great feeling knowing that I will succeed at this, no matter what the timeframe. I want that for everybody here. Susi who has 13 stars to go

I have been doing tae-bo about 3 times per week although sometimes less often, mostly the basic tapes. I am trying to add in Advanced more and to increase the number of times per week. When I first started Tae-bo, I worked out more like 4 - 5 times per week and really watched what I ate. And I saw better results then. I guess after 's post, your post, and others that I also read tonight, it is time that I rededicate myself to tae-bo and try to speed up the process. I am glad to hear that you have faith that the changes will happen. I am gathering more faith each day, but I still let the setbacks and lack of enough results affect me. I have experienced more positive mental changes, as well as a renewed self-confidence from tae-bo, and I am so grateful for that. I will remind myself to have a little faith. --G BTW - I loved your star idea. I have kept track in my dayplanner what days I have exercised, but I thought your star idea and reward system is really great. I actually shared your idea with a friend at work for her to use the star system for her family. She gets stars for working out, her husband for tackling the honey do list and her son for assorted things, including not having any accidents in pre-school. She loved the idea and said to say thank you - I am not sure what their reward will be yet, but I wanted to let you know.

You are right, if we keep doing taebo consistently and eat healthy (for the most part with a few slipups allowed), then our time will come and we will see the results. Some of our bodies, like mine, are just more stubborn (hmm, maybe it goes with having a stubborn personality?). Thank you for the pep talk.
