a, It definitely says in MM that recipes are being compiled for a BFL

book so why not contact them? Or write your own cookbook - yoohoo - why not!

Hi a, Well now, don't you think satisfying the creative need in you is

just about one of the most fulfilling thing you can do? You obviously have a

talent and one of the things that people always bemoan when starting the

program, is they don't know what to cook. Then once they become devoted to

BFL, they often find they become bored eating the same food. Imaginative

variations would be welcomed by so many people and there is an ever growing

number of people who are interested in healthy nutrition. You've already

seen the response to your recipes here...so I say, go for it. You have

nothing to lose and the potential to fill a gap while doing something you

love. All the best, Leaner.

Jen - don't tell him. It seems to me that if he has to ask, then he can't

tell if you don't. Just smile and say it is just good, healthy, normal food.

Besides, isn't that what we are all eating anyway? :) It isn't like this is

Craig or something where we have some sort of frozen entree. Is a

piece of grilled fish or chicken with some lundburg rice (the good one we

have been talking about - he will think it is gourmet and not healthy) and a

salad BFL or just good food? I say both - but I would tell him it is just

tasty food.

That seems to be my problem. Created something paletable and healthy at the

same time. I come from good old fashion farm stock and that is the way I

cook. Learning how to be creative was as big or bigger a challenge as was

the program itself.

I am hoping to concentrate more on the cooking part this challenge so I

won't be so frustrated about the food I'm eating.

Part of my trouble is that my husband now asks before every meal if this is

BFL food so he can make the appropriate faces as he eats. Makes it hard to

enjoy my meal with him doing that.

He knows the look of all my meals by heart and every time he sees something

new he asks before he touches it. I'm a terrible liar so I think he knows no

matter what...

I asked him last night, as he was grilling me about what times I ate and

such, if his eating had suffered while my program was in full force. He had

to admit that he had not suffered. He's just a butt%#^ & . and can't help

himself, I quess.

I'll live through it.... but I'm not sure he will! LOL

Jen,

My husband was a butt about dinners and the way I ate too. He would always

ask " WHEN is you cheat day? " I ate what I wanted and made him whatever he

wanted. The guilt would set in and he would make remarks about what I was

eating. Some days he would ask for a bite and admit it tasted good. Finally

he would ask to have the same thing I was having. I would make him the

appropriate amount for his size and he was amazed at how much he could eat.

Then when he realized how wonderful he was feeling by eating that way, he

decided to join me at the gym too. Now he is the one after me about what to

eat and watching my portions. I think I've created a monster. LOL

Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone here Laury.

I asked my husband today how many candy bars he ate today and he said none.

and yesterday also. I caught him drinking water too! He never does that,

usually sodas or beer, so I'm watching for the BFL shoe to drop....

My old high school does a fundraiser every year where they ask for recipes

from teachers, students, and parents, make it up into a small cookbook and

sell it to everyone who will buy it. Maybe you can make one up and offer it

on the board or other mailing lists--what do you think?

-that is a great idea about everyone sharing recipes! Yours sounds

excellent. Sweet potatoes are so yummy. The only one i have to share is tofu

scramble for breakfasts by getting the tofu and the pkgs of " scramble mix "

from the health foood stores. it tastes pretty good and i put salsa on it

too! Looking forward to hearing others. (I also get some from muscle media

mag as well) If anyone wants me to duplicate one or 2 of those, let me know!

dang, this meal planning can be a bite! how bout we pick a meal and

everyone

share a fast easy recipe as we are all trying to get that 12 week planner

going? I'm not normally a breakfast eater so cottage cheese with a slice of

whole wheat toast or if I have time an egg white omelet with sauteed veggies

will do me. How bout we share main course ideas?

Have you tried baked yams (sweet potatoes). Make several at a time so

you'll

have them ready. Wash several and prick them with a fork. Wrap them in

foil

and bake at 425 until soft (about an hour). The 'taters are usually large,

so plan on having just one half. So, cut in half and mash with a fork.

Sprinkle cinnamon and equal over 'tater (also nutmeg and allspice if you

have

it), Great for a carb source and you'll think you're having dessert!

(well,

kinda :) ) just reheat for 'bout 15 minutes on 350 when you want another!

(keep it in the foil) cyn

Alright guys, I'm gonna have to be the Mama Bear here for just a

minute....altho we are all here in this group for the same essential reason,

we all bring different experiences and expectations to the group. Mark, it's

ok if Sheila expresses an opinion different than yours, dont take offence.

and Sheila, some of us that have been together in this group now for over a

year feel we are indeed close friends if not family and maybe get a little

carried away with sharing outside experiences in our life..(I know you all

are excited for me that I am going to the Orange Bowl :) )....I personnally

want to know that Nic's honey has been deployed overseas and in fact am

curious as heck as to what Deus does for a living..so, lets all just relax

and accept the group for who we are. Make sense?

There is a club that is called Body For Life Recipes. People go

there and post recipes and ask nutrition questions. I usually make

stuff like Turkey Chili and Low Fat whole wheat lasagna or individual

low fat, chicken pot pies. I have posted all of these recipes on the

club site. - AMY

Thanks, but I don't want to subscribe just for a couple of recipes every issue.

Does anybody know of a published collection of recipes?
