Guest guest
Great idea to create a quotation hall of shame. I'll have to give this some thought. I've heard so much stupid **** from doctors by now that it's all a wash. There was a funny moment when an SP openly scrutinized Dh and I to figure out which one of us was the autism " carrier " , but it's not a sound bite. Hmmm. > > Please send me any brief sentences, thoughts on things your ped has > said to you (must be true stories) about autism and/or your child. > Here's one of my own: " I've never heard of a family with more than one > child with autism. Guest guest
You just reminded me. I sent Kim directly one story. But, when we went to see the developmental ped. She said “get him in a good preschool. That’s about all you can do”. And when I asked about Mercury or the diet she said “all of that is experimental”. Meanwhile- the diet and biomed helped my son 1000 times more than his mediocre preschool. On 10/31/07 10:38 AM, " Hirzel " <mhirzel@...> wrote: Challenge accepted, Kim. Guest guest
Our ped told this to another mom whose daughter had- unbenounced to the parents- the " kind of autism that goes away " (I've told the story here many times: the girl toe-walked, did echolalia, watched her hands, tantrumed and stimmed and suddenly got over it with no interventions: the power of estrogen). The pediatrician that this mom and I both took our kids to said, when this mom asked if she should worry about her daughter having autism: " In medical school, we were taught that, when you hear the sound of hooves, you're supposed to think 'horses', not 'zebras' " . And my eventual response was, " Welcome to Africa, doc " . But initially I was actually reassured by this. I so wanted to believe that the epidemic was just a pharma hyperbolization to sell more drugs. I was right about one part of that. > > Please send me any brief sentences, thoughts on things your ped has > said to you (must be true stories) about autism and/or your child. > Here's one of my own: " I've never heard of a family with more than one > child with autism. Guest guest
So glad you mentioned this. I heard that cliche, as well, from a useless speech therapist in Orange County, California. It's not just the docs. > > > I have a friend whose son is probably 12 or 13 now, maybe a year or two > older, and when the son was diagnosed, the doctor told them there isn't > much you can do except, " just take him home and love him. Guest guest
These are still painful to me. The doctor we were seeing was so nice, but didn't know a thing. Some kids don't need as much sleep............My son was crying all night every night. When I asked about vaccinations and didn't want to vaccinate my daughter she said "Oh Lynne, there's nothing to that. Those parents have only seen their one child. Let me give you the website to the CDC." These Pearls of Wisdom are really outrageous and it's absurd that these things have been said to us, but there is real pain behind how our kids have been not treated and how our concerns have been brushed aside. I'm happy to say that we left that office that day never to look back. I have also left many offices never going back, until I have found doctors who did listen, treat, and care for my son. Interestingly enough, our first nice(ignorant) pediatrician, called me a few weeks ago and wanted to know how my son was doing. I'm going to send her a package of DVD's, test results, and information about biomedical interventions. I'm wondering if she is seeing more and more kids just like . It's too bad she didn't listen to me 2 1/2 years ago. The there are lots of doctors at that practice, and we actually saw all of them. It may all fall of deaf ears, but I have to do something or at least try. LynneSee what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage.
Guest guest
Here is my favorite one: This was a few weeks after the F. Kennedy Jr article was in Rolling Stone magazine. I went to the pediatrician (which I already posted on EOH that she is a fricken moron and I only see her for the school papers to be signed) and she said " I read that article in Rolling Stone and I want to say to you that I am trully sorry if what he says is true. We had no idea about Thimerosal and that is was mercury. " I choked up with tears and said " Thank you, I really appreciate you honesty " About 5 minutes later she was pushing vaccine boosters that were due for my daughter saying " I promise there is no Thimerosal in these shots " I politely said " no thanks because there is still alluminum and formaldihyde and other toxins that my kids can't handle! " She thought I was crazy and I just could not believe that she would think I would EVER vaccinate my child after reading RFK's article but at least this was a start-- recognition and even an appology--if it were true mind you! They still think I am the wacky mom who does vodoo medicine like chelation. Guest guest
When our son was 3 yrs old and having lots of viruses, illness - his immune system was a mess. And he would stop eating for a while - which would land us in the hospital for IV antibotics. Well, the DR told me the next time it happened to just keep him home, don't feed him, just give him tylenol and let him go - that he would just pass away on his own without pain. That DR committed suicide 2 yrs later. Really these DR's don't know what to do for these kids. Its treat an ear infection, give them a vaccine, see if they are on the growth charts. They really don't know much on how to treat serious health problem's is the bottom line! Guest guest
I was just thinking yesterday and today about how peds have been turned into executioners and have obviously (according to this thread) developed an executioner mentality in a lot of cases. So actually being one is probably not a big leap. Many might have started out with integrity and were sort of inculcated over the years until they vaguely may have realized they'd been doing hits for the pharma mob all along and had too big a pile of bodies behind them to ever turn back and truly seek redemption. Except that my sister, a nurse and single mother, gave up nursing to go back to school when she found out about the shots, so, eh, I don't have that much sympathy. > > > > > > > > > > Please send me any brief sentences, thoughts on things your > > ped > > > has > > > > > said to you (must be true stories) about autism and/or your > > > child. > > > > > Here's one of my own: " I've never heard of a family with more > > > than > > > > one > > > > > child with autism. Guest guest
I had a pediatrician once say that there was only one doctor in England (Wakefield) who claimed the MMR might cause a problem but he was run out of his own country as a quack. I wanted to strangle her so bad that day. I just looked at her like she was nuts. I then spent that entire year sending her info on the dangers of the vaccines and Thimerosal for only to say the next year that my sources were " questionable " She also looked at my daughters DDI toxic urine report that showed Lead and Aluminum far into the red zone and was at first nervous but then saw it was a urine test and she COMPLETELY dismissed it as being false. I was so crushed because to me that is the smoking gun and she had the damn bullets! PEDIATRICIANS ARE THE QUACKS!!!!!!! Guest guest
Hi Kim, Our ped in Oregon told us, " That's not green discharge coming from his penis, that's just diarrhea " . After weeks of his first morning urine in the potty and in his pull-up being silty-green. Yeah, and I, who friggin whitnessed this, am an odiot. Subsequently, after an argument for urine collection, we also established that there was blood in his urine. It " must be something viral " . > > > > Please send me any brief sentences, thoughts on things your ped > has > > said to you (must be true stories) about autism and/or your > child. > > Here's one of my own: " I've never heard of a family with more than > one > > child with autism.
