Wow. Talk about throwing her under the bus.

I love how they omitted that they PAY for their grandson's medical care based on

vaccines

causing his autism. (all biomedical including chelation)

But, then they state publicly that their views are different than their

daughter's?

, if you read this, I am sorry this happened. But, know also that you are

not alone.

Keep speaking out just as any good mother would do. This is YOUR child. I know

you love

your parents and I know they have done a lot for you. But, you need to keep

pushing. Not

for my sake or anyone else. Do it for your son.

Peereviewresearch writes:

Obviously the bias in this group is that the mercury preservative thatused to be in vaccines is the cause of autism. This despite the factthat studies of hundreds of thousands of children report otherwise.Even if the rest of the world bows to your bias, you've still got someexplaining to do regarding the constant stream of new cases of autismthat present each and every day.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This "group" is not alone on the list of those who've "still got some explaining to do regarding the constant stream of new cases of autism that present each and every day".

Surely the "constant stream" is a cause for alarm, not a source of "comfort", especially to those who "peer-reviewed" research insists mercury is not the "link" this "group" suspects it is?

Perhaps you can provide your own "explanation" for the "constant stream of new cases" presenting each and every day?

In any event, I would like to know what "peer reviewed research" you have that sought to "identify" the cause of "autistic enterocolitis" that thousands of "regressed" children experience? Indeed, the "identification" of the "cause" for colitis in 3 year old children ought not be any more difficult to uncover than contaminated spinach or Taco Bell lettuce.

Do you know of ANY toxicological research studies COMPLETED that identified the "cause" of enterocolitis in autistic children?

Most here believe that autism is caused by environmental triggers

that effects kids with a genetic predisposition and part of the cure

is biomed. How does this differ from the majority views on this board?

The cure for autism can be found in the third aisle of the Home Depot center, amongst the circular saws.

Maybe that's what Bernie Marcus thinks.

I am incredibly shocked to hear such words from katie's parents. I dont know but I always thought the older generation doggedly sticks to their beliefs and mindsets ,it is much harder for them to change their points of view, especially when they have spent a lifetime getting to a certain position of power .

There are so many examples of families being split up over unmoveable points of view.

I think our society is going through major paradigm changing times and familly ties may not be strong enough at this point.

The basic problem is that the combined expertise of NAAR (genetics and psychiatric disciplines) is completely ill-suited for either understanding the etiology of the autism epidemic or providing anything other than a red herring non-solution to same. If western blot analysis of gene sequences combined with the administration of psychotropics was anything other than a completely misguided approach to this problem, we would see some progress. Instead we get "which way did he go, ?" type research that is either completely off the mark because of the inherent bias of the researchers or is designed to mislead because of liability concerns of the grant benefactors. In addition, we get "autism- the great mystery- this is all just so complex" pieces of tripe from a clueless media.

I believe that they initially misled because they simply didn't know and were wrong- but the initial approach represented the best guess/analysis from a completely ill-suited (to the specific problem) group of professionals. This has been going on since Kanner's original research. The basic problem starts out with Kanner being completely ill-suited to analyze what was going on because the inherent bias of his background led all of us down the red herring path. Initially, we blamed Frigidaire.

Now, however, I believe that they mislead because they are concerned that they will be shown to be the fools that we know that they are. It's a primary reason why we can't get most in this debate to change and correct. Those who initiated the debate are too vested. They know they are wrong and they are frightened. They act like caged animals because, in a way, they are. If truth sets you free, then maybe we can understand what kind of a cage they are in. It's historical and the truth exposes the experts for what they have been for more than 60 years- basically, wrong-headed.

Given the nature of most organizations, especially establishment organizations, to display paralysis in action, especially where, as here, history shows the initial approach to be wrongheaded and, in primary measure, counterproductive, it is not a surprise that Autism Speaks, as the establishment organization, would carry all of the historical baggage and refuse to adapt quickly to a rapidly changing analysis.

This group has the advantage of instantaneous flip-flopping/correction to accommodate changing facts on the ground.

Autism Speaks just runs into icebergs.

This is just odd. If 's parents are not following their

daughters lead, the mother of an autistic child, the caregiver of the

child that knows what is best for her child, why did Bob even start

Autism Speaks? Maybe it is like said on the Kirby interview

that it's the board of directors that steers the good ship AS and not

Bob himself.

I’m not buying it yet either.

Suzanne entirely believes the environmental cause NEEDS to be found, I watched

her speak about it. They have to have gotten a ton of flack from the

current board members and had to do some damage control. Her father is most likely

playing some political maneuver. But that does not lessen the pain

must be feeling for her parents to publicly voice there disregard of her entire

position on Autism. Something is not right. -

Obviously the bias in this group is that the mercury preservative that

If you or Kirby or DAN/EOH are so clear on the etiology and

treatment of autism, is there something or someone that prevents you

from raising money to do the research?

I believe that's how NAAR began in the first place--there was no other

group dedicated to raising funds for *scientifically* directed autism

research. NAAR didn't disparage other autism groups--they went out,

raised the money and spent it as their scientific board directed.

Why don't you, DAN and Kirby do the same for " bio-medical "

autism research? Why hasn't Mr. Kirby donated the proceeds of his book

towards such a cause? Certainly even DAN doctors alone, with their

very generous billing practices, ought to be able to fund plenty of

research and treatment studies. Why aren't the EOH bloggers out

raising money to support this cause which they so passionately believe

in rather than continually disparaging other parents and scientists

who have chosen to work to support scientifically-based autism research?

Or has the " big pharma " /CDC/NIH conspiracy stymied all of your efforts?

You’re joking right?? Just last

night on the news they talked about how the flu shot is helpful to the fetus.

Over 90% of which still contain the full dose of mercury. Also, mercury is

still in most of these shots in smaller amounts. Added with the yearly flu

shot started in pregnancy and then again at 6 months after every year after. We

all read the Ghion safety data sheet on thimerosal which explicitly states

should NOT be given to pregnant women. Mercury is toxic and apologizing for it

at this point with all of the biological science and how toxic our kids are is immoral.

Many of us in the autism community -- heads of organizations, etc., --

are very well aware of what kind of organization AS really is.

Glad they put this statement out so everyone else can see too. I

thought they were " in the fight " for the good of their grandson. But

clearly, CLEARLY, their own daughter's views are unimportant to them.

She's diluting their BRANDING!!!!!!

*gasp!*

What aren't you buying? It's right there in black and white. They

disagree with their daughter. When you do " branding " in marketing --

you quash anything that remotely dilutes the branding message.

diluted their message. She's canon fodder.

Great points, Bob Moffit.

We are still waiting for " Peereviewresearch " to reveal his/her true

identity.

If " Peereviewresearch " holds such strong opinions why can't he/she

tell us who he/she is?

What are you hiding?

This " group " is not alone on the list of those who've " still got some

explaining to do regarding the constant stream of new cases of autism

Surely the " constant stream " is a cause for alarm, not a source of

" comfort " , especially to those who " peer-reviewed " research insists

mercury is not the " link " this " group " suspects it is?

Perhaps you can provide your own " explanation " for the " constant stream

of new cases " presenting each and every day?

In any event, I would like to know what " peer reviewed research " you

have that sought to " identify " the cause of " autistic enterocolitis "

that thousands of " regressed " children experience?  Indeed, the

" identification " of the " cause " for colitis in 3 year old children

ought not be any more difficult to uncover than contaminated spinach or

Taco Bell lettuce.

Do you know of ANY toxicological research studies COMPLETED that

identified the " cause " of enterocolitis in autistic children?
