Guest guest
From Dennis Debbaudt's Autism Risk & Safety Newsletter, " Drowning is a leading cause of death for a child or adult who has autism. Guest guest
Great to hear. My son too has made dramatic improvement with chelation and has not had any negative side effects whatsoever. For over a year (prior to chelation) my son had dangerously low calcium levels which we could not elevate despite supplementation. Just a few weeks after starting chelation his levels returned to normal. Pre-chelation he was rarely speaking, never interacting with anyone unless he wanted/needed something, barely getting by in school, eating only a few foods, watching the same shows over and over, hardly ever slept, and had constant gut pain. He hated sunny days as his pupils were perpetually enlarged. He didn't read books, he lined them up in alphabetical order over and over. Little or no eye contact. Post chelation (one year later): Almost a straight A student. Won the geography bee at his junior high school. Happy, witty, creative. Makes up his own jokes - and they're funny. Rides his bike around the park on sunny days; today he went jogging. Reads stories to his little sister. Greets the neighbors, who are stunned by the change in him. Chimes in on conversations. Starts conversations. Talks on the phone, asks to have friends over. Has an eye for architecture and is familiar with many significant buildings in Chicago. Recently told me he wants to get married some day and have kids. Follows directions better than the NT siblings and has great eye contact. Many, many people have commented on his improvement including his teachers, his DAN doctor, friends and family members. He is happy now, and enjoying life. Chelation Therapy and the DAN protocol is without a doubt the best thing we've ever done for him in his 12-1/2 years. > > > > > > > > > > > > Kirby asked, " Can anyone tell me if > > > > > >this [thimerosal exposure] could be related > > > > > >to the " spontaneous " mutations mentioned in > > > > > >the study? Guest guest
Rhodopsin writes why he "wastes his time writing here....we should be irrelevant": Because you are trying to hold legitimate research ransom. Confusion seems to be part of your problem. It is not EOH that is trying to hold "legitimate research ransom".....it is the CDC that refuses to allow toxicological research of thimerosal. If the CDC thought toxicological research would prove thimerosal is as safe and harmless as they (you) insist it is, THEY would be demanding the toxicological research be done. Instead, well-funded academic "economists" blame it on television.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Because my tax dollars are being wasted on an NIH trial for chelation. Your tax dollars are no more precious than my own, and, I want chelation research done. I no longer trust the NIH to conduct any vaccine related research fairly, but, even poorly done research offers the potential of providing opportunity for good research to follow. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Because when my son was diagnosed someone "trying to help" insisted that our son had been poisoned and that we had to chelate him immediately or we were failing him. Poor baby, someone "insisted" you had to "chelate" him? You, my friend, were under no coercion by the state to "chelate" your child. I, on the other hand, was coerced by the state to vaccinate my grandson using a substance, routinely affixed with the skull and crossbone poison icon, that was NEVER proven to be either safe OR harmless. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Because a local DAN supporter insisted we read a ridiculous book about vaccines producing hallucinogenic tree frog venom in children with autism. You have my sympathy. Imagine being recommended a good book to read? The horror of it all overwhelms me. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------Because vaccination rates are declining to levels that leave everyone susceptible to preventable and nasty diseases. The problem is so bad here in my community that the local school system had to suspend thousands of students until they received their vaccinations. Your local school system may have suspended thousands of students until they received their vaccinations, but, who is going to protect these same thousands of students later in life, when the supposed benefits of their childhood vaccinations wear off, making them susceptible to these "nasty diseases" as young adults or seniors, when they are far more life-threatening and severe? Maybe their employers or health care plans will cause their suspension until they get their "booster" shots? Apparently, "preventing" measles will be a life-time of vaccinations, each one accompanied by the well-known potential of adverse risk. By the way, perhaps you missed the latest CDC statement that autism has increased from 1 in 166 to 1 in 150? Or their statement that 1 in every 6 American children suffer some type of early childhood development, such as, autism, juvenile type 1 diabetes, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, allergies, asthma, etc. etc. I sure hope the nurse in your local school system is trained and prepared to deal with a student who suffers a life-threatening allergic or diabetic shock, because there are so many children at high risk suspension is not an option. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Because children have died in serving the view that autism is poisoning that can be reversed. Obviously, you are quite willing to "waste your own time" spewing this crap. BOB MOFFITTAOL now offers free email to everyone. Find out more about what's free from AOL at AOL.com. Guest guest
Six weeks into td-DMPS we the same things you are seeing with your son. After about 5 months, he slowed down with the mercury excretion, so we stopped. Then he regressed a bit; the teachers noticed a decline in his organizational skills and attention. We did the porphyrin test, which indicated he was high in both lead and mercury, so we started IV EDTA. He has done about 10 IVs with EDTA, Vit. C and glutathione, and we saw big improvements after the third. We are also doing weekly IV's with Vit C and Glut only, 3 or 4 days after the EDTA. I would say the improvements with IV chelation are greater than with transdermal. However, we will be chelating for mercury again, probably with IV DMPS, when the excreted lead levels pull back. My son was also dx'd PDD-NOS. I can't answer your question about ALA as we are not using it; however I do know a mom whose child did very well with oral chelation (DMSA along with ALA). Hopefully she will see this thread and answer your question. > > > > Can I ask when you started noticing the changes in your son? I started Oral > DMPS on my 14 yr old son and we are now on round 7. Guest guest
We have been doing IV EDTA & IV DMPS plus Glutathione since August. We go once a week (fridays). He also gets some vitamins and minerals (I forget which ones) and we supplement with a ton of stuff on the off days. About every 2-3 months we do blood and urine tests and check all his levels (at a local lab). So far, everything has been in the normal range. We’ve also not seen any side effects (unless you call talking more a side effect). He did have a couple of weeks of melt-downs. But, he usually has problems in Feb-March. He’s an only child and being inside a lot during winter when you live in a small apartment would drive anyone alittle crazy. When we do the urine test for metals he’s never really high for anything. I’ve seen other kids off the charts. But, he is excreting lead, aluminum, mercury and arsenic. The whole process will probably cost us $15,000-$18,000. But, we are waiting to hear back from the insurance company, because they may cover some of it (cross your fingers). Other than supplements ($250 per month) and some testing we did 4 years ago ($600)- this is the most we’ve ever spent on autism- so I can’t complain. We do buy special food and meat that is like $8 per pound- but if I have to give my kid meat- it’s going to be the best we can find. I look at the food thing differently too- because you are going to spend money on food anyway. Gorilla Munch is $2.50 a box at Trader Joe’s. We make all his meats and bread and freeze them- so that probably saves some money there. Anyway, my point is- I think the money is worth it with the chelation, because we have seen definite improvements- more talking, understanding more, following directions, being more social, handling loud situations better, etc. On 3/20/07 9:00 AM, " McDonough " <kevntimmcd@...> wrote: Six weeks into td-DMPS we the same things you are seeing with your son. Guest guest
Yes and no about the ALA, depending on how yeasty he gets. Yeast can cover up a lot of progress. Guest guest
, That is interesting about your son not doing as well in Feb/March. My son ALWAYS has a hard time in April when everything is blooming and late August, ragweed season in CHicago. It is very predictable, and he always bounces back. Obviously an allergy/immune system problem and I assume it causes neuroinflammation. My son also suffers from the side effect of talking. Last night he said, " Mom can you wake me up at 4:30 am tomorrow? " I asked him why he had to get up so early, and he said he wanted extra time to get ready for his school day. I told him I would wake him at the usual 6:30 a.m. He insisted he needed more time to make his bed, brush his teeth, etc. Then I got suspicious, checked the TV listings and found that " Rocko's Modern Life " would be on at 5:00 a.m., and he finally admitted he wanted to get up early to watch it. He was actually being sneaky and a little manipulative. A definite sign that chelation is working!! > >> > > >> > > >> > > >> > Can I ask when you started noticing the changes in your son? He was actually being sneaky and a little manipulative. A definite sign that chelation is working!! > >> > > >> > > >> > > >> > Can I ask when you started noticing the changes in your son? My son too has made dramatic improvement with chelation and has not had any negative side effects whatsoever. For over a year (prior to chelation) my son had dangerously low calcium levels which we could not elevate despite supplementation. Just a few weeks after starting chelation his levels returned to normal.Pre-chelation he was rarely speaking, never interacting with anyone unless he wanted/needed something, barely getting by in school, eating only a few foods, watching the same shows over and over, hardly ever slept, and had constant gut pain. He hated sunny days as his pupils were perpetually enlarged. He didn't read books, he lined them up in alphabetical order over and over. Little or no eye contact.Post chelation (one year later): Almost a straight A student. ______________________________________________________________> Be a PS3 game guru.> Get your game face on with the latest PS3 news and previews at Games.> http://videogames./platform?platform=120121> Expecting? Guest guest
Should I be concerned that the urine test I did with Doctor's Data for my son didn't come back with much of anything showing? This was done on a Sunday night on the 3rd day of the 3rd round of oral DMPS. (He's 14 and weighs approx. 120 pounds and is doing 50 mg of DMPS.) I'm still continuing, but just would like your opinion. CarlaAOL now offers free email to everyone. Find out more about what's free from AOL at AOL.com. Guest guest
Holly / Maureen - what test(s) are you using to monitor progress during the chelation process? Is the porphyrin test giving you enough info? My son is a mercury /lead kid - not off the chart, but consistently elevated. thanks -randy > > PS, chelation ROCKS. My kids metals are reducing with every test.
Guest guest
Yep, we do the doctor’s data urine tests every 2-3 months, along with RBC, CBC and chem screens. We did the porphyrin test (and the pterin tests which are very useful) too and will use it to check long term progress. Right now -every 3 months during chelation we test with urine and fecal tests from Doctor's Data. The fecal test if the most telling-3 mo. ago his lead ran to the end of the chart- we do it on the 3rd day of chelation-which we do 3 days on 11 off-with T/D DMSA from Silsby. Guest guest
I’m not sure with Oral. But, there are a couple of kids I see at chelation and almost all of them have shown higher levels- and I think my son has improved the most. I would give it some time and see how your son improves.
