Guest guest
Contgrats you have PA as I think I suggested early on. Spiro and DASH recommended.ACEs make renin and aldo go up because the block the conversion of AI to AII and/or lower BP. AII lower renin. As renin goes up it can still overcome ACE and more AII kicks adrenal aldo production.Recall that normally I charge $500/yr for this sort of detailed consultation. Guess you can send me what you think this has been worth or not.CE Grim MDOn Mar 6, 2010, at 12:31 PM, Vicki wrote:Hi Dr. Grim and members of this wonderful board! Guest guest
Isn't it funny that people actually WANT this diagnoses? I guess we all just want to feel better and its nice to know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Yes, you can bet your bippy that I want to enjoy life again and enjoy my two little kids. I am tired of being tired! 6 years was too long! I am scheduled for a 4 hour salt test next week and I will let you know how that goes. Your site has a plethora of information! Wonderful for patients like me but would even be better for the doctors that are taking care of us! Your consultation has been worth a lot to me! Feel free to send a bill! Thanks again! Guest guest
This shows why being tested on meds end up as a false negative test result. Dr Grim's fee can be a bargan if your doctor will work with him. Guest guest
Since some meds work be removeing salts from your system what happens when you DASH? when I read about how furosemide works it tell me that it works by removing salts. Since K is a salt it also removes it as well. If you dash to reduce the salt wouldn'd there be a risk to reduce it to much while taking furosemide. Wouldn't you also have to eat more k as well. I also take triamterene this removes some salts but reduces the loss of potassium. I would take this to mean that it still removes some K. > >> > >>> Hi Dr. Grim and members of this wonderful board! > >>> I finally got my results back from my lab work that I had done > >>> earlier in the week. Guest guest
I would be in for this, also. Surely there must be some sort of software template for such a forum that could be used. Using my Microsoft Mail in box is quite chaotic and If I'm away for a few days, it's difficult to catch up. I've 1247 unread messages at various times since I joined and you never know whether there will be a golden nugget in there. I would like to see; 1)A search facility for the threads. 2)The abilty to move posts which hijacked threads to a new subject of their own, so when you ask a question it doesn't disappear in amongst an unrelated question by another member. 3)Each thread reading down the page with a minimum of computer generated guff, in between. 4)A guest could view for example selected resources and the latest messages (say the last week) and invited to join after that. 5) I'm fine with the suggested fees to have such an authority as Dr Grim on our side. Something like $10 per month might give you a life changing piece of information to share with your carers, or at least keep reminding you of the importance of keeping the salt devil at bay. 6) Perhaps there's an opportunity for someone to help with the administration for the messages to save Dr Grim's time and a free sub or some other facility extended to them also. Overall a great idea. moving hijacked threads to a new > >> > >>> Hi Dr. Grim and members of this wonderful board! > >>> I finally got my results back from my lab work that I had done > >>> earlier in the week. Guest guest
I think its a great idea as the work you do is amazing and valuable to so many. Its also helping you to educate GP's, Endo's to suspect PA and how to test for it and make them realise just how under diagnosed PA is!The problem with paying is the people who aren't diagnosed with PA may not be able to afford it! I read about PA (before coming on here) but doubted it due to my BP fluctuations. Now, I know its a big possibility I could have this and how my diet could of been masking what I have. Thanks to Dr.Grim I wouldn't have joined as I can't afford it due to not working as been so ill.People that have been living with PA for 5-10 years have probably spent thousands trying to get better and may be sceptical about paying without having the chance to find out if it is a possibility first. That would be a shame as the more people come forward the more can be done to improve GPs and specialists knowledge about PA and how common it may be. Also, to monitor the after effects of PA, which many here have talked about, living with one adrenal gland/ adrenal fatigue. The more people who take part the better I would have thought!I will of course be sending you a cheque and a bottle of champagne when I'm better, if I have PA :)Sent using BlackBerry® from OrangeFrom: Clarence Grim <lowerbp2@...>Date: Sun, 07 Mar 2010 14:19:22 -0500hyperaldosteronism <hyperaldosteronism >Subject: Re: Results of Renin activity and Aldosterone Thanks will see how we can do this.
