Guest guest
Hi Dr Grim, They told me today that his son does not work there, they gave me an appointment for April of 2010 and put me on the waiting list. The doctor that I am going to see does report to Dr Gordon , I will print out all of your key files and mention that you referred me to the group. The American Society of Hypertension resource was helpful as well. It is going to be hard to wait six months so I am going to continue to try to find someone else. Thank you for help, I appreciate it very much. > > > > > > Hello Dr Grim, > > > > > > I live in western MA and a while ago you recommended a Dr Gordon > > or the doctors that work in his group. Guest guest
See if you can find a local Dr we can train to become your expert there in that part of the country.I know many on the ASH list. I would try to get to the one you can see first. May your pressure be low!Clarence E. Guest guest
While the ASH list may have good doctors listed there it doesn't mean they know any more about PA then other doctors do. Or maybe I should say members of there team don't. I found this Dr D. Remillard, MD Section Chief, Nephrology & Hypertension Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. I emailed him he resopnded that he would have someone contact me about setting up an appointment. When contacted was told it would be at least a 3 month to get an appointment with him but I could make an appointment with one of the fellowship's doctors and be seen with in two weeks and that Dr Remillard would see me as well as he was the consulting doctor. I made the appointment and but instead of Dr Remillard I saw a Dr M. Kaneko as the consulting Dr. I had been see prior to this by Endocrinology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center by one of there fellowship's doctors with this Dr as consulting doctor Dr H. Turco, MD Practice Note: Adrenal Disorders, Osteoporosis, Pituitary Disorders, Thyroid Aspiration, Thyroid Disorders, Transgender Hormonal Therapy. He is the one that order the tests that were done there the same day and time I was there this was 3:00 pm and I was taking all my meds. I did ask him about the meds and was told they wouldn'd change the tests. Since all I had read before this vist was saying the meds could changes the tests I didn't think he had seen many with PA. I made the appointment with Nephrology based on Dr Remillard being listed on the ASH list. I thought he would know something about testing for PA. Maybe he does but others in his group may not. As they could see nothing wrong with how I was tested and don't have PA. Even being tested on the Meds Dr Grim thinks I could have early PA. > > > > > > > > > > > > Hello Dr Grim, > > > > > > > > > > > > I live in western MA and a while ago you recommended a Dr Gordon > > > > > or the doctors that work in his group. Guest guest
I dont know any of them. If they are certified HTN specialist they will know Conn's and be able to take care of it themselves or have an Endo they work with if they don't do it themselves. Guest guest
I called all four and only heard back from one. The one that called me back suggested that I see an endocrinologist, but gave me the name of the endo that I have already seen. I asked if he could suggest anyone else in western Mass and told him that I would be going to B & W's early next year but wanted to find someone closer and he said that if I was able to get into B & W that would be my best bet. Still glad that I tried to find someone local as now I know that it is best to make the two and a half hour trip. Guest guest
Francis, if you think about this I think you'll realize this is not a reasonable request. The last time I looked we had over 350 members in this group. If Dr. Grim called a doctor or two for one member he would be inundated with requests to do it for other members. We're lucky that he's here and can recommend certain doctors to us, let's try to keep him here. a > > Maybe Dr grim could help us both out. I think you may be closer to Dartmouth then B & W. Guest guest
You have to look at Dartmouth as being one of the top ten med schools in the US. just the fact that a Doctor has gone to Dartmouth means that they will earn 1,000,000 in there life time then doctors form other med schools do. But when it comes to PA they seem somewhat lacking in doctors that know the proper way to test for it. If my experience with them is any indication as to how they train doctors about PA then most likey they are not training them right. In my case if what Dr Grim says there is no good way to test for PA based on the meds I take. But Gr grim also thinks by how the meds work on me that PA is very likey in me. Something one of the top teaching hospitals missed. Is it worth Dr Grims's time to try to train them only he can decide this. > > > > Maybe Dr grim could help us both out. Guest guest
Been training for about 40 years.Published over 240 papers. I think you may be closer to Dartmouth then B & W. If Dr Grim is willing to contact someone at Dartmouth He could learn if they know how to test and treat PA. I have two names and emails he can try. one is Dr Remillard he is on the ASH list. He is Section Chief of Nephrology. He is likey to respond to Email. .D.Remillard@ This is the Phone number (603) 653-3830 of Fax: (603) 653-3991. Dr Comi was recomend by some one in this group. I send him email but got no reply so will have to try some other way. He is Section Chief of Endocrinology. .j.comi@ Phone number (603) 650-8630 Fax: (603) 650-2240. > > >
Guest guest
Thats because the AMA has limited medical school enrollment. And we need such slave labor to staff internship positions in hospitals. We produce about 10,000 too few Drs to do this so must bring in less well trained folks to staff. Most stay on. This is a tremendous brain drain i the home country. If I were in charge I would have them come for training and then go back to serve their own country better. We elect people who pass these laws. Talk to your rep.On Nov 3, 2009, at 12:55 PM, jwwright wrote: $1 mill is a criteria? And yet they don't know PA? Maybe they should just do breast surgery and cut the science? Just logic dictates I want the top ten med school guys working on the main things - CVD, cancer, diabetes, and let me work the minor crap myself. BTW, a lot of new Dr's don't even come from this country.
