I LOVE " Camille's Children " !!! I REALLY REALLY LOVE

IT! I've seen Camille on a lot of TV shows and we've

written each other a few times. She does have a lot of

kids.... too many to fit into one house, so she has 4

houses. It's hard to believe that a " family " that must

hire staff and volunteers to care for all of their

children is indeed a family instead of an institution.

And seeing that there are families with no kids

waiting years to adopt someone with DS..... well, you

know the rest.

Her book is soooooooo worth reading! I even spoke to

her son Seth over the phone, when he was about 8 (he

has DS).

Cheers

Hi Gail - I have that book and I think it's great - it's kinda my bible. It

has some really good ideas that you can incorporate into your everyday life

without having to do the full on therapy stuff.

I don't where you can buy it from in the US - sorry.

Hi. I was wondering if anyone has heard of books for children about OCD. I

was thinking that a book about another child with OCD would be good for my

9-year-old daughter. But, I would want one written for children, not adults,

so she could read/understand it. Is there any such book? Thanks!

Try " Polly's Magic Games " and " Blink blink, clop clop, why do we do things we

cant stop " . Ive heard that they are both good and I have had them on order

for 7weeks with our local bookstore I think you could get them faster from

Amazon.com. My daughter is 10yrs old with ocd. Good luck! Nikki in Orlando

Hi,

This is Terry in WI,

Just getting back in the swing of things after having bypass surgery. All is

well and I'm back at work.

My daughter, age 10, was dxed with OCD when she was 9 and we found " Kids

Like Me " by Constance , and A Kids Guide To OCD, by Jake McDowell (age

9 ), very helpful. We also used the videos,

" The Touching Tree " and " How to Respond to Obsessive Compulsive Disorder in

School Age Children " ( the Kids Panel) as teaching aides for both my

daughter and the school district where she attends school. Books and Videos

are available through the Obsessive Compulsive

oundation.( www.ocfoundation.org )

Hope this helps,

Terry In WI

Dear Peggy,

My books are:

The Story of Ozone, 1994

The Owner's Manual for the Human Body, 1997

The Ozone Hyperthermic Technician Training Manual, 1999

They are only available from me.

The OHT Manual is the training course for ozone sauna techs. It is

a $200 accredited course.

The other two books are free for the asking.

Hi Grace. I've been away for a few days and am just now catching up on

the posts so you may have already gotten an answer to your question about

books, but - have you tried the OC Foundation? Their website is

www.ocfoundation.org - they have lots of paperback editions and some really

good literature that is very cheap. They have been a great resource for us.

Thanks and good luck. Cyndi inVA

Are you new? I have been away from reading my posts for about 5 days.

Where do you live in Nebraska -- you're the first I've seen in this group --

I'm from Omaha. How old is your child? Who do you see for treatment, etc.

I'm so excited to have another Nebraskan on the list.

Yes, Dr. Chansky is one of our list advisors and she is one of a very few

psychologists nationwide who have successfully treated young children with OCD.

My son is one of her patients and I truthfully do not know what we would do

without her! Keep in mind that when you are in the beginning stages of having a

child treated for OCD, much of what we learn can be confusing and overwhelming.

If you have questions about anything you read in Dr. Chansky's book, you may

address them to her by putting " Ask Dr. Chansky " in the subject line of you

message, and Louis, our list owner will forward them to her. in

I just bought it today so I can't help you there. But, I just

finsihed " Obsessive Compulsive Disorder - Help for Children and

Adolescents " by Mitzi Walz and I fouund that one pretty good. It has

some very technical information on the current understanding of the

physiological causes of OCD if you are so inclined. While most of

that technical stuff went way over my head, it did help me to view it

as a disorder as opposed to just a different way of thinking or a

personality trait kind of thing. That book also has a great list of

references in the back.

HI Suzy:

I can recommend this book very highly. I wish that it was written

when our son, Steve, now 15 was first dxed with OCD.

Dr. Chansky is a very valuable resource on this list and you can

ask questions of her directly here by entering " Ask Dr. Chansky " in

the subject line.

We found reading books about OCD really helped us to understand the

often confusing way OCD bosses our son around. THis book, which is

aimed at parents, is very encouraging and very educational. Good

luck, enjoy your reading, take care, aloha, kathy (h)

Sage-

There are two books that are very important to have if

you are making products for others using eo's.

The first is " Plant Aromatics " by Watt New

Edition 2001 and the other is " The Aromatherapy

Practitioners Reference Manual " by Sylla Sheppard

Hanger both are available from Butch Owen at

http://www.av-at.com/

Once you have these reference books you can easily

check recipes and formulas and know if they are safe

as written. There are loads of books out there that

suggest many uses of eo's that border dangerous to the

user.

Hope this helps and blessings of much success in your

projects.
