Guest guest
I plan on washing my bedding in borax and other things but will it help if I hepa vac my matress? I can't throw everything out b/c I won't have $$ to replace it. I wonder how much spores the air scrubbers that the mold cleanup guy is putting in my house will get them nasties. I have now a Eureka hepa filterization vaccum and will vac with it Sat. I will start washing bedding etc once they do the cleanup. I have valances on windows and will wash them too. I have felt really crappy the last two days and it's been warm here in NC. They even said on tv that molds are growing like wildfire b/c of the moist, warm temps. Isn't that lovely. Well, I wonder if I'll ever get an appetite back. Strangely for me I can't smell very good but can smell chemicals. Like the air purifiers I bought have that VOC smell coming off them and I'm trying to help the air. The heater smells that smell too. I have gotten a burnt smell in my nose before which is bizzare. If I stop swelling up in the face will be a miracle itself. So tired of getting up and all swelled in face. Never fell rested not matter what and my first symptoms were sleep problems then came along tremors, dizziness, cognitive dysfunction, memory problems, joint pain, pins/needles sensations, shocking on head/face/neck, pain from head to toe, numbness from head to toe and major fatigue. And whatever else. I def. have gotten worse since heat came on from doing better on LDN for a year. I'm still going to take the LDN. Oh, my legs would turn jello too but haven't in a while. OK, had to update my paypal account so I can now order Shoemakers book. One for me and one for my neuro but I hope I'm not wasting my money b/c he may not be intersted in reading it or talking to Dr. Shoemaker to help me. I won't have the $$$ either for deductible and 20% but maybe I can work out something about payments. Guest guest
I looked it up & it amplifies dopamine, a neurotransmitte in the brain so that's why you feel better. It is an antiviral drug. When you take this, how long is the effect? I take a neurotransmitter suppliment but the effects are short lived. I assume because I'm too toxic. Chemicals kill the benefit quickly. I also need to take Sam E with it & I can't process the sulfer (liver damage). Such as life. Guest guest
Does it do anything for MSH, VEGF? Dopamine agonists might help - a lot - with some aspects of mold illness, (Just look at all the ADD/ADHD kids who they put on psychostimulants who improve academically, even in moldy schools) -but I think a person with long term mycotoxin exposure (usually an adult by that time) would still run into SERIOUS problems with all sorts of things (ENERGY LEVEL) unless those OTHER systems were addressed.. However, from what I have read, amantadine does do some positive things in the immune system, but not being a doctor, its way over my head. Guest guest
There are a few options that are lower in cost. One is to get some poly sheeting at the Hardware store, it comes on a roll. If you cover the top and sides it works pretty well at keeping the stuff out of your face, it is what many New Zealanders have done. You duct tape it around the edges on the bottom side of the mattress. JC Penneys have some inexpensive mattress covers that are a laminate bonded to fabric that zips on. Also there are vinyl ones that zip on. Those depend on how sensitive the person sleeping on it is to the smell. I get sick from vinyl until it outgasses, so for example, with shower curtains, I hang them in the garage for a week or so. I let my pillow covers from Penneys air out in a separate room, then washed them, now they are in a drawer for awhile, until I get comfortable with the smell. > Just wanted to mention that we threw away our old mattresses and furniture a few days ago and have been sleeping on the floor. Guest guest
Loni, Have you tried 5-HTP ? I use Now brand in the early evening, or sometimes twice a day, and it's pretty good. Its a precursor of serotonin.. (not a drug) On 1/26/06, Loni Rosser <loni326@...> wrote: > My family wants me to try the antidepressants (because the MD's can't find what's wrong & they go right to the SSRI's) but I feel the same as you, I don't need any more poison, I can't survive it. I get close to saying what the hell, get them off of my back, but I don't want to kill myself because I am so weak & fragile right now. Wouldn't take much. With SSRI drugs anyway you have to have some of the seritonin for it to work. It takes what you have & keeps it active. Does anyone know the best way to test for neurotransmitters. Serena, I agree with you very strongly. Loni >
Guest guest
Yes I am taking that. It's in the Neuro Replete that I take for rebuilding Neurotransmitters. My doc says I need the sulfer (Sam E) to make it do it's job. Well it does work much better but my liver cannot metabolize sulfer so I get more toxic & have pain. So you get a good result from Now's 5HTP? Do you have more energy during the day from taking it? I get up in the am & an hour later I'm severely fatigued for the rest of the day. I take a nap, then take the Neuro Replete or I also take Neuro Optimizer & it helps a little for a awhile, then back to bed. I have so many things to do & can't get hardly anything accomplished. Have to teenagers to run around too. Loni LiveSimply <quackadillian@...> wrote: Loni, Have you tried 5-HTP ? I use Now brand in the early evening, or sometimes twice a day, and it's pretty good.
