I'm interested! I was considering offering my place this year but I'm

still scheduling craft shows and am afraid to commit right now. Is

anyone else thinking about it?

I would think about hosting, but I will be in a new house and not too sure I

will have everything ready by then.

I agree that our gathering has gotten too big (too successful!) for most of us

to be able to host it in our homes. Renting a place makes sense and $5 to $7

seems reasonable enough.

As long as that is a possibility, I would love to see it held some place more

central - like maybe between Syracuse and Utica. I have no idea what might be

available but it seems that area would be more central for all of our members.

Also, I voted for either July or August. In truth, both months are the busiest

in the Adirondacks and in my day job. So, like others, my ability to attend

will depend as much on which date is chosen as on the locale.

BTW - If we wanted to have it " off-season " and people wanted to drive all the

way to Blue Mountain Lake, I'm sure I could get us good off season rates on one

of the really awesome places around here. BML " centrally " located, though

LOL

Shaye - THANK YOU for trying to pull this together for us!

What about your beautiful farm Miss Maggie?LOL I am a terriable hostess, I stink

at organization,My husband HATES when ever I plan anything because all he hears

is me throwing tantrums( because my house is last on my list to clean) my little

barn is my palace. And I've got to much on my plate this year, grandson's

wedding and my daughter and I are taking a trip to Alaska by train to visit with

my son whos in the Air Force. Who knows maybe we will become one of those people

who just love it there and not come back! But then again I hate winter since I'm

getting older, my bones ache all the time. So let's have it at your place! Oh

by the way would you be interested in a baby buckling? Of course when he's old

enough, I have two one is 5 days old and the other 4 days old, the cutest little

things. Susie

Susie, that trip to Alaska sounds awsome! One of my freinds took a cruise

up there a year or so ago and the pictures she showed were sooo beautiful.

Growing up in the Rockies I LOVED the mountains.

I'm hoping so.I'm terrified of flying and the trip is 12 hours with lay

over.Well they would have to stop the plane somewhere in between and let me out!

I'm also closterphobic, don't know if that's spelled right but you get the

point.Remember Mr. T well your lookin at his twin. LOL So my son came up with

the train, we'll leave Syracuse to Chicago and Chicago to Seattle then I can pay

$1,000 to ride the ferry I think for a week or get up my courage and get on a

plane for 3 1/2 hours. I'm going to get tranqulizers.Crazy huh what you'll do to

see your kid. LOL I miss him so much. We're not sure yet if we're going the end

of June til middle of July or July - august he has to put in for time off.

Ya know I was thinking, we have an old fashioned Town Hall here that I can use

for free with a nice parking lot, beautiful front lawn, nice open porch, lots of

tables and chairs, bathroom but only a kitchenette microwave, sink and campus

size refridgerator. We could set up a big tent or a few of our small craft tents

in the parking lot for the yard sale. All I have to do is have a date to reserve

it. About six miles either way is our little towns of Sherburne with a small

Motel, pizza shop, diner, ice cream/hamburger place we even have a Dollar

General! LOL Going the other way is New Berlin with Pizza,a Beautiful Bed n

Breakfast with Resturant and another Bed n Breakfast without the breakfast.LOL

I'm just not sure yet when I'm going to Alaska. As far as my house I would never

have enough time to clean. Just a thought. Susie

The Columbus Town Hall is a great idea, Susie. It's truly in the geographic

" center " of the state. People are welcome to camp on my farm which is about

5-6 miles from you I think. I have a giant hay mow where they could set up

tents and be out of the rain.

The hay mow is a huge, cavernous area where hay is stored. The ceiling is 30

feet high. I bought a gigantic old, funky dairy barn near Susie Miele's little

town. Right now my hay mow (rhymes with cow) is empty and would be a terrific

camping area. I plan to have my daughter's wedding in it someday. You can see

a picture of my barn on the opening page of my blog,

Hey Maggie can I come camp out this summer? Sounds great to me, but then again I

think the two of us might be a little excentric or are we just " Rednecks " ? We

had my daughters wedding over at the beautiful pavillion in Columbus a real hoe

down wedding, everyone said it was the best wedding they ever went to, our

neighbor drove the wedding party around in his fleet of old cars, ya know

restored ones with rumble seats and stuff. That's the life for me! Hey are you

interested in a little buckling? Susie

Suzie;

I went to Alaska about three yrs. ago to visit my cusin. I had never

flewn in a plane either and I was scared! i didn't use tranquilizers

though, and im glad cause I got to see the Earth from a different

view. It was beautiful and never racking cause I was scared but kept

telling myself all will be ok. We flew to Anchorage Alaska, drove to

Wasilla where my cusin was, and then drove to Keni. Beautiful

scenery, and lots wild life. Keep camera on hand. It was so awsome I

got to see an eagle in the wild less than 2 ft. away from me. I also

seen an otter, moose, a bear high on hill side, and way in distace

herd whale from shore.

My farm is a half hour south of Utica and one hour north of Binghamton. I'm ten

miles north of New Berlin, just two miles off route 8. If you put your finger

on the exact center of the state, that's where I am! I have a big flock of

sheep and goats, along with chickens, dogs, cats and rabbits. You could walk

over the hills and take in the beautiful vistas, and swim in the pond or the

creek. My sheep guard dogs bark at night to keep the coyotes away, that's the

only problem I can think of. By the way, Susie, I wish I could take your

buckling but I'm having to buy hay now and it costs me a fortune!!! Next year

I'll have a much better hay deal and a tractor to hay my own fields. Thanks,

anyway!

Oh, it sure was! I really look forward to the gatherings, because it's so

much fun to visit with everyone. You all were so sweet and easy to get along

with; I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Shaye, you did an excellent job. Everything was fantastic! Deb's herbal

talk was interesting and well done. The company was fantastic, the Yankee Swap

was, as always, great fun, got some goodies in the garage sale, the door

prizes and goodie bags very welcome, the food. . . yum! Our hostess, Kirstie,

was very welcoming, too. Oh, and the raffle prizes were also cool.

I was looking over the swap items last night and will post about those later

on. Impressive!

Just a note to say how much I enjoyed Deb's herbal talk. Would also

be interested in the recipe for the veggie salad she brought.
