I know Darlene was there, I'm pretty sure she still reads, just NEVER posts

anymore. Our loss as her posts are great! No one else is coming to mind right

now. Sorry to anyone I'm forgetting! It has been a while that's for sure.

My youngest was 3 when Oxygen Zoo first came out and we all helped name it. She

was proud her idea was part of the name. She is now 10! Boy, oh boy time keeps

on keeping on. Some of my best friends ever are on this list and we have only

met through the list. I sure do count myself lucky to have good friends who

encourage and keep me motivated.

Well, I'm packing up for the day. I rarely get on the computer at home anymore.

I got spoiled by my fast connection at the office and I can only get dial up at

home. So, I just check my e-mail at the office now.

I'll catch up with you later.

Have a great day!

I do remember Darlene.

I wonder where she is and what she is doing. She really did offer some good

advice. I do agree that this list has made lasting friendships and even

when you get away from posting for awhile you are always remembered and

welcomed back.

I hope to be a litle better anyway.

C,

Congrats on the almost reaching your goal...you've been doing this a while,

haven't you? I know I haven't beeen doing it in a while so that is how I

remember you must be an old timer (not in age) like me but persistant and

good!!

that is wonderful news. How long did it take you to get to your almost 4

pound goal?

HI Ellen,

I can't remember how long I have been doing LL, but I'm sure it has been at

least 7 or 8 years. I was not always persistant though and didn't do much

about my eating until last year. I think I just got comfortable the way I

was, thinking I looked ok, and since I love to eat, I didn't think I could

change that. But I started Jan 2nd of last year and started eating better

food and less of it, and taught myself to eat only when I was hungry and not

because the clock said it was time to eat! It was hard to do, and because

of my age and menopause, etc, it took me till Jan 2 of this year to lose 19

lbs. I am giving myself this whole year to just learn to maintain. Anyway,

I hope I can keep it up.

Dear C, That is great that you have lost weight, I am trying to " eat when

I am hungry and not by the clock " also--I just started and BOY is it hard, I

think I am an emotional eater. Connie

Hello everyone!! It has been a very long time since I have posted, however I

do try and catch up on emails every now and again. I hate to even ask this

of anyone out there because I know that it has been up for discussion before

and I can't seem to find my saved emails regarding this.

I am meeting with the school for my son to start Kindergarten next year.

Bradley has IGA Def and Partial Antibody Def. He has been doing really well

this year however I want to present everything as far as information. He

already has an IEP in place. I was hoping if anybody has any other

suggestions or outlines they could forward me. Again.I am sorry for the

Thanks so much for all of your help. Blessings to you all!

Hi Marie, welcome.

It's a great list and there's a lot of experienced people here.

Another list which provides a lot of nitty-gritty information on

alternative medical approaches is the autism list on .

It sounds as if you're generally okay with your school but be aware

that many are leery of school mental health assessments. The Dept. of

Education, HHS and most all U.S. health regulatory agencies have

been " captured " by the drug industry (this includes vaccine

manufacturers) and many policies have long reflected this. Each

school may have a different ethos but many families whose children

receive diagnoses may be pressured very quickly to place their

children on psychiatric drugs. As you're probably aware, the public

(not private) schools also receive payment for each " disability "

diagnosis and these labels remain on a child's permanent record. When

schools give out labels, they only mean external behavior, not

disease mechanism, though occasionally individuals working in schools

may believe the connection between environmental toxins

and " behavior " and could be supportive of families who try to treat

underlying injuries.

There are many children who, while not technically autistic, have a

lot of the sensitivities which smack of the same neuroimmune

syndrome. It can sometimes even be transient, as in the case of one

of my nephews who couldn't stand tags and food textures but somehow

(not so mysteriously) overcame these sensititivies when he stopped

receiving vaccinations. He had no other symptom overlap with autism

but I personally recognized them as reactions to the mercury and

possibly other components in vaccines because, as an adult, I

developed temporary sensory issues after a flu shot.

Labels aside, awareness of the fact that environmental poisoning can

effect any child can help with a course of action, such as getting

lab work done to determine food allergies, metal burden, nutritional

deficiencies, viral load, looking for the existance of certain

antibodies and other things. If your boys (and your husband) went

their whole lives without autistic labels so far, alternative medical

approaches, restricted diet, patching up mineral deficits and

treating metals, etc., might make it so that these labels stick even

less and could help with your daughter's anxiety as well.

But I did make it over to Friendship house for the breakfast club we found out that they got a contract for next year to do 600 lunches per week besides 300 breakfasts that they will be sending over to the schools and that doesn't count the ones they will be serving at the friendship house. It is a shame how many kids will grab a bag of chips cause they are running late and run to school with nothing in their system. With doing healthy breakfasts, fruit bowls and lunches these programs are trying to help fight malnutrition here in Brantford. It is a shame here in Canada we have so much of it that people don't

So if you do pray please pray we find the volunteers to help put together these breakfasts and lunches as right now they don't have the volunteers but they will come when needed if the word get out. , you also mentioned chronic sinuse infections, I recently read about

research from Mayo clinic as to chronic sinus infections that are caused by

fungas and not viral. Seems taking antibiotics for fungal sinus problems only

makes them worse in the long run.The overuse of these antibiotics kills off the

good bacteria as well as the bad causing your body to get out of whack(hence the

reocurrance). There was specific other problems associated with the imbalance

(skin, urinary tract, rash etc.) but its very interseting for people who have

been cursed with chronic sinus problems. Interestingly enough one of the tests

performed to rule out is usually a cat scan of the sinus cavity to look

for lingering infection.

Good luck. Steve.

I did not have my tonsils taken out. That wasn't even a consideration when I had

the fevers.

Steve,

Thanks for the information. What treatment do they recommend for eliminating the

fungus? My chronic sinus infections started after my fevers stopped. I also had

UTIs during the years that I had fevers but not during the years that I had

sinus infections.  In a few of the blogs that I read this weekend parents

discussed children with that had both sinus infections and UTIs.

My last fevers were associated with pregnancies. I have no doubt that if I have

another child I will have another fever. Are there any other adults that have or

have had in this group? I have episodic chronic tiredness & muscle fatigue

and I wonder if it is related. I am willing to get rid of my tonsils if it will

help :)

Hello , I am new to the support group. My son was diagnosed with

when he was 22 years old. This was 8 yrs after his symptoms

started. I was told during the early years that he was too old for

PFAPF. He is now 33 and still gets bouts of it. The doctor he went

to passed away several years ago and most doctors know nothing about

the syndrone to help. He is now trying to get help back at All

Childrens Hospital in St. sburg Fl. It maybe a life long

illness . Alot of sinus problems and fevers every few months. Are

there other adults out there with this? Still a desperate mom

watching her son suffer.
