Hi there

I will try to answer your questions:

1) Prednisolone is the ingredient in prednisone - same thing.

2) The genetic testing we did was not invasive at all. Urine/blood but we only

tested to HIDS really as Emma's symptoms and history didn't fit any other

syndromes

3) We only had the fevers as a symptom - never any throat involvement/ulcers

etc. Sometimes Emma got tummy aches and in the end before T & A she started

complaining of joint pains.

4) Never heard of calcium intake being related to

Hope this helps

My daughters genetic tests were very simple......Our doctor ordered the kit from

GeneDX and did it at her office.... two small brushes came in the kit...... and

she brushed them on the inside of my daughters mouth. Took a few seconds, No

pain at all......

My daughter gets swollen glands, red pussy tonsils (always negative strep),

abdominal pain, joint pain (feet and legs), sometimes she says her teeth

hurt..... some months are worse then others.....

As for strange behavior, she sucks her thumb ALL THE TIME, and also rubs her eye

brow a a lot while she sucks her thumb..... trying to brake both habits since

shes getting older.... but its not easy.....

Hali mom to Sky 3.5 fevers since 12 months old.

(leaning towards the T & A) ENT appointment next month.

Hi. Hope to help you out:

1) Prednisone is converted in the liver into Prednisolone so it's the same

thing.

2) We didn't do genetic testing.

3) We do have peculiar behaviors only during episodes such as clinching of

fists, squinting of eyes. He does complain of joint pains just before and

during an episord.

4) I haven't heard of calcium being related to but I'd like to research

that.

You'll find a lot of these children have Tonsillectomy and Adenoidectomy

procedure. It seems to resolve many cases or symptoms of . My son (who is

6 1/2) is having his T & A on Wednesday, after being on Cimetidine for 2+ years.

I'm just throwing it out there as a possible suggestion of something to look

into.

GOOD LUCK!

Number 1. not sure, I think a ssteroid is a steroid but I'm probably wrong, we

use Orapred, it works great.

Number 2, Specialist know what to rule out for a   diagnosis so needless

tests are just trauma you don't need.

Number 3. Almost all kids complain of horrible abdominal pain and

terrible leg cramps, I can't tell you how many times we thought our

little girl was having an appendix attack. The list goes on and on,

fatigue, sore throat, eyes swelled shut one time, pale, dark circles

under eyes, whining, no appetite, vomiting, roid rage etc etc.

Number 4. Ive always thought that PFAPhad something to do with the

intestines either reacting negatively to a substance or just injured

some way and the body is reacting to it.

As the child grows the body either heals or handles the reactions

better. I think to pin down a substance would be near impossible (youd

go crazy trying all the combinations), For some reason the moons line

up just right and their system goes into overdrive thinking its being

attacked. The Doctors are not sure why these fevers happen either, most

say it's an immature immune system and eventually they should outgrow

it. We have had five and a half years of hell and now her fevers are

about 45 to 65 days apart and managed with the Orapred. I don't have

any proof for my thinking, just what seems like a lifetime of watching

and suffering right along with her. Just my opinion from a Dad whos

gone the distance. If you need a at a glance calender let me

know, I made one on WORD and its great for the fridge, lets you see

everthing easily and for a whole year. Good luck and I'll say a prayer

for you and your little one.   Steve.

What can I do? I am losing weight, going vegan and trying to get in the exercise. Numbers still stink. I am so afraid that I will have a debilitating stroke or heart attack. I can cry for the fear of it. I am 58 years old and a gun is pointed at my head. I can lie down and count my pulse from the feel of it!

All of my valves are damaged from endocarditis in the early 90's and when my bp is low my pulse is high...visa versa.

I'm telling you now, no dr., is going to help me. I am on my own. I am on Medicare so please don't tell me to get a better dr. Fat chance.

My "dr." has me on lisinoril 10 mg daily and 25 hydrocortithiazide. I stopped the water pill(no change to my numbers but less poisen in my body). Numbers the same (150/92 ish) sometimes higher.

WTF??? Can anyone really give me advise?? Enough of this team talk. I am alone as are most reasonalble income people. The medical care in this country is BS. Advise??? Please!

Lucille,

I just checked the bottom of my 5200. There are 4 black plastic strips screwed on at one end. I can lift up the unscrewed end with my finger. They will also move from side to side if you push them Try that to see if you can release them.

Can you rotate the metal strip to allow the cord to come out?Is it flexible, so you can just pop the cord by the strip? I can understand your panic- Get that thing going!

If I am not around to answer questions like this (like when I am at a show :-)... the 800 number for Vitamix Customer service is very handy (on the back of your machine!) OR - feel free to give me a call and if I'm at a show, I'll call you back at the end of the day.But - the screw is only on one side of the strip of metal and the other side is designed to be lifted up (or to raise up) when you pull the cord under it. Very hard to explain without being able to show you. It is there to hold the cord that remains under the machine in its wrapped position. Just give the cord a tug - it should come out from under the strip of metal opposite the screw.Hope this helps!

We are in the process of getting together some professional opinions

to aid us in his next ARD. You would not believe his test scores. But here's the

issue, the behavior has to be controlled before he's able to move forward with

any academics, and they are advocating taking him out of his social skills

class, which is all about behavior.

Criminal

Offences

The

Council is told by the police if a registrant has been convicted or

cautioned in the United Kingdom. We can also consider convictions and

cautions imposed abroad which, if committed in England and Wales, would

constitute a criminal offense.

The

Council can consider any criminal conviction. This includes offences not

directly connected with a registrant's profession or practice or which

occurred while the registrant was not registered. For example, the Council

would consider convictions for fraud whether related to dentistry or to

personal finances, drink driving offenses, sexual or physical assault or

deception.

The offense

is considered by the Investigating Committee as to whether it

requires a referral to a Practice Committee.
