Yes, I took my cat to the vet and they gave her a Lyme sulfur bath.  I really think it helped.  I took her to my mother's house b/c I didn't want to bring her back in the environment and she is doing good.

Hi, My cat has some small white specks on her hind quarters.  I took some scotch tape to get samples.  I hope it is not mites again but I did spray her with MMS there.  I thinking of trying to add DE to her diet - has anyone seen that b4?

I've had a vibrating feeling in my feet when I get in bed.  I sprayed some alcohol that I had mixed with Epsom salts this morning and it stopped it.  I think I got it from the red cotton rugs my mother had put in the bathroom...so I put different rugs in there.   She keeps the rugs in the laundry room  in a tall stack in the corner.  I really didn't have much of the foot problem until she put those rugs in the bathroom.

Well, sometimes I wonder how will I overcome this while living in this house?  No one understands/cares what I am going thru.  My mother is so tired of hearing about it that she refuses to listen to me.  I've been divorced for a while and I can't imagine trying to have a boyfriend right now.  Hats off to those of you who are in relastionships.  Happy New Year

Hi Theresa

Maybe just

Wash the rugs in Arm & Hammer Powdered Laundry Detergent I do it in a 5 gal

bucket in the tub in 4 mins flat w/ a & h soap, it is naturally low sudsing &

quick to rinse, don't rinse well though, a & h kills bugs . The bathromm must

be sterile. (Moms like clean bathrooms , ) I mop it w/ a & h soap daily & mist the

cieling & walls & toilet w/48 oz chapin sprayer from Ace hardware $12.00 , it is

super convienent . or I wear boots 24/ 7 except in bed. & 1/2 cup of dry a & h

soap in boots, hold breath ,shake , & clap out excess into bathtub= bugless .

It does miracles.

I gave up talking bug 5 years ago. ,they don't bite everyone, so why worry them

they won't listen ever, it not a fun subject , then you lose them as a friend.

Cvs ant traps from CVS PHARMACYS work $2.95 for 6, I put them in each room . ,

every little bit helps

Here are some notes I kept from the post on the traps :

CVS ANT CONTROL SYSTEM (ant trap)

ingridients

Sodium tetraborate pentahydrate 5%

ortho boric acid 4%

other ingredients 91%

(Sodium tetraborate is like borax)

( other ingredients 91% is probally aspertame , it is a sweetner & a nuro toxin

* see note

Hi Lorenu lyme sulfur is soothing to cats , it does smell awful they sell

odorless sulfur now, it works very well . : Sulfur odorless

http://www.pennherb.com/susansfavorites.html

The lime sulfur dip or lyme sulfur is 98% sulfur so you can make your own out

of the odoelss type.

I use sulfur for3 years straight. on for 3- f day then resting from using for

3-5 days . It works , but not even close to what 1 cup Arm & Hammer Powdered

Laundry Detergent does in a bathtub of water & get in & soak for 20 mins ..then

spray every thing in the environment wth it & the outside of the house with a

woseend sprayer like for roses . .

Or maybe it took using the sulfur to knock down the bug then crumble it to

nothing with a & h soap , I will never know..but I would try the a & h soap 1st .

The mix for sulfur is

6-10 perent sulfur

10 percent oil ( any kind but cococnut oil is best , or olive. ) in a shampoo

bottle then shake for 10 seconds) then add

80 percent hand creme. ( then shake for 20 seconds )

apply top of head to toe & leave on till next shower & repeat for 3-5

days .

for the dog or cat they are useing a similar mix in the lyme sulfur dip , just

no oils ., they are selling sulfur to mix into water & apply which is not 'as'

messy. Sulfur is effective , especially when used in conjunction with frontline

..

Here is a site I found seaching the words ' lyme sulfur ingredients '

http://www.entirelypets.com/limesulfur16.html

excerpt :

Lime Sulfur Dip is a 97.8% Lime Sulfur Concentrate for treatment of non specific

dermatoses and parasites on dogs, cats, puppies and kittens which are responsive

to lime sulfur.

Directions: Wear gloves. Carefully pour diluted dip over the animal makingsure

to reach affected areas. Re-apply every 5 to 7 days or as directed by your

veterinarian. Do not rinse or blow dry animal. Do not allow animal to ingest.

Apply protective collar until dry if necessary to prevent ingestion.

Dilution: Shake concentrate well. Add 4 oz. of concentrate to 1 gallon of water.

After adding concentrate to water, mix well. For chronic or resistant cases,

concentrate may be diluted at 8 oz. per gallon of water.

May stain light colored dog/cat and porous (e.g. cement) surfaces. Will change

the color of jewelry. Use in well ventilated areas.

Caution: For topical use only on dogs and cats. Do not exceed label dosages.

Measure carefully. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. May cause skin

irritation. If eye contact or skin irritation develops, rinse with clean water

for 15 min. stop treatment and contact your vet immediately. If ingestion

occurs, rinse mouth with clean water and offer large amounts or milk, egg whites

or water.

Lorenu sulfur is mild & works , but smells.

Here are my notes I have collected from the past 6 years on mites & Lyme

sulfur :

Outline rat mite fit

1 vacuum

2 Exterminator

3 Listerene and witch hazel 1part witch hazel, 1part listerene. 5 parts water

as repellant

4 Suphur treatmeants

3 days on , 7 days off , 3 days on

5 Remove rodents

6 Seal up access to rodents

7 diatomaceous earth at the garden supply store and sprinkle it around the air

conditioner outside.

8 Also sprinkle it around electrical and plumbing that is on the outside of the

house which affords a super highway entrance to the inside of the house.

9 Long warm baths in bath oil also are good.

10 carpeting is to use either borax or baking soda carpet deodorizer sprinkled

on the carpet for 24 hours and then vacuumed up

11 Benadryl helps with the antihistamine reaction aquaphor is excellent for

soothing the skin and smothering any bugs that might be on the skin. Long warm

baths in bath oil also are good

12 Be nice to skin: Hydrogen Peroxide can cause blindness. It is not a liquid

that should be sprayed, further, hydrogen peroxide applied in massive quantities

to the body kills the good bacteria on the body, as well as bad things. What

this does is strip the body of it's natural protection to ward off bacterial,

fungal and yeast infections. The by product is horribly disfigured toe-nails,

athletes foot as well as other skin ailments not related to an infestation.

13 Slather on Aquaphor before bed. It works in two ways it heals the skin and it

smothers anything that might be trying to trek across the body

My cats made a dramatic improvement after being dusted down with diatomaceous

earth. You must apply a breathing mask to do this it should be done outside and

the cats should stay outside after it's done. It beats trying to give them a

lyme sulfur dip after a bath.

Note #2

44. The dog will need to have a series of flea baths, be dipped with lyme sulfur

or start a course of Revolution in conjunction with Frontline plus. Rat mites

are long lived, they have to feed on blood four times during the life cycle and

they are not particular (except a preference for human females) about where they

get their blood. This means you could be sharing an insect predator with a

rodent. .....

Lorenu the peroxide mix with borax still is the best to stop a bug , then do

the a & h bath every 5 days or so it is all painless & works miracles , if it

dosent work with in 2 weeks I would use benzol peroxide on the skin like Rita

did & got cured in a 2 weeks after 5 years of battling very hard.

borax mix:

http://www.earthclinic.com/Pets/dog_mange_cure.html

The mix:

2 tblspns borax (20 mule team Borax laundry booster

16 oz peroxide (3%)

32 oz water.

mix it , and the borax nuetralizes the peroxide, it is painless & the is no fizz

or bruning from this mix & it is cheap

If they are deep ones I use

8tblspns borax (20 mule team Borax laundry booster

8 oz peroxide (3%)

8 oz water.

God bless you ,

Bill

Do just put a little A@H in water and mop and spray? Do you think that would

work in the rest of the house or is not enough? What about breathing the stuff?

If you don't use that much maybe it's ok but then it won't work. Feeling better

after inhaling all that menthol. A little used to help to get me through the

night but really want to get rid of them.

No, I've had no tests since last August when I had a negative Lyme test.  I think it had some affinity for those rugs I removed and washed yesterday.  I sprayed the bottom of my feet with alcohol and Epsom salt mix and it stopped.  It only happens in the bed but feels like quorum sensing maybe.  ?

I really didn't have much of the foot problem until she put those rugs in the bathroom.

Well, sometimes I wonder how will I overcome this while living in this house? No one understands/cares what I am going thru. My mother is so tired of hearing about it that she refuses to listen to me. I've been divorced for a while and I can't imagine trying to have a boyfriend right now. Hats off to those of you who are in relastionships. Happy New Year

coat ears with bag balm cats and dogs. or use cedarcide for ears and dip.

cedarcide will not eradicate in home, only knockdown. makes 25 gallons solution

for infestation, after for maintenance 50 gallons.

Dogs immunity I use glass bowls now for pets with MMS.

This was posted on the forum and looks like a great idea for dog owners

Bill I like the link for the homemade mange control. I would give that a whirl

if still infested.

Aandraya, I'm in Washington State near Spokane. I saw your other post about how

this can affect the brain. I know personally I feel like I've been losing IQ

points. It's very hard for me to focus and concentrate. What did you have to do

to get you Lyme under control and how long did it take? Thank you for offering

to find a doctor. That was going to be my next question!

Hi. I am going to try to post a link to the Topix Scabies Forum, called

Itchygirl's Thread. She had children and pets who had some type of bird mite.

She explains that she took her pets to a Vet Derm, who prescribed the latest and

most effective treatments for mites in dogs. Ivermectin is more effective than

Revolution for this plague. Be careful with cats as cats' livers are more

sensitive than dogs. Give her entire thread a read. It's very interesting and

very informative. Good luck

Hi C,

I know this is a difficult time and am sad for your loss.

I believe this is an internal issue and maybe your environment will not get better 100% until you treat infections?

Can you find a lyme doc and get an igenix western blot?
